Hi Alex, I’ve known u for a while now, and I watch your videos every day and practice.I wanted to know if u also offer private online classes. Best Tina Amy
I accidentally fell into your garden as I've learned English. What's a soft, intelligent, totally comprehensible manner of teaching! Some of your idioms I knew. And excellent "design" of lesson, using phrases with opposite meanings. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Learning Idioms this way is engaging, helpful and useful. Coming up with a new way of teaching, doing, etc. is always great. Teacher Alex, you are being very creative. Keep it up! I loved the video.
@@engvidAlex Hi Teacher👋, I have a question to you. Heading and Going. For example; I am going to work and I am heading to work....what's diferant between eachothe? Which one is prefered when you speaking? Please, Can you explain to me? Bye
Hi Alex! Thanks for the lesson. Same of these idioms are familiar to me because they have Russians analogies. For instance about head in the clouds, it's saying "fly in the clouds".
Thank you Alex for this excellent lesson. I am very familiar with some of these expressions which exist almost identically in French. For example: "Avoir la tête dans les nuages" vs "avoir les pieds sur terre". "Cela coûte un bras" (but not a leg, we French take care of our physical integrity). "Cela coûte presque rien" ... Proof that English is largely derived from French?😉😉
Please Sir reply. (Please don't mind sir, it's too long comment) Is this information correct? (from Chat GPT) When you see a present participle (an -ing form) at the beginning of a sentence, ask yourself this simple question: 1. Is there an immediate reaction? If the second action (main verb) happens because of the first action (participle), it often means "as soon as." Example: "Hearing a loud noise, she looked outside." Here, the noise causes her to look outside right away. So, it means "as soon as she heard the noise." 2. Are the actions happening together without one causing the other? If both actions happen at the same time, but neither one causes the other, it usually means "while." Example: "Reading a book, he sipped his coffee." Here, reading doesn’t cause him to drink coffee; he’s just doing both at the same time. So, it means "while." Quick Check: Does one action make the other happen? Yes → It means "as soon as" No, just happening together → It means "while" I hope this way makes it even clearer!
You can use an article or no article with instruments. “I play the guitar” or “I play guitar” are both correct and used. It’s the same with seasons. “I love fall” and “I love the fall” are both correct and used.
Same here. I used to stay up until midnight or later when I was in my late teens and early twenties, but now that I'm older, I'm an early bird. I'm usually awake by 6 a.m.

12:27 is it correct? Maybe “… playing THE piano”?

@@engvidAlex thank you for the answer! I like your channel and watch your videos on a regular basis!
Thank you so much for learning with me! I'm glad that the channel has been helpful.
Unfortunately, I'm behind on my tasks 😢.
There are people who don't have limbs. I would not use such expressions as "at arm's length" or "cost one an arm and a leg." .
This kind Of videos are really useful this is real English thanks teacher
Thank you. I’m glad to hear it’s useful.
My shoes cost me an arm and a leg😂

Yeah, my Twitter is dead. I will probably move to Instagram in the near future.
