CLOUD PEAK 2 Wild camping || SHERWOOD FOREST STEALTH CAMP

  • Happy Halloween!!
So I couldn't resist a sneaky, rather creepy stealth camp in the woods of Sherwood Forest as I wanted to test out my new tent and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet after a stressful 7 shifts after the flooding of Storm Babet.
It was a massive challenge for me, and it all nearly went wrong, with dead animals, a failed camp fire, and falling branches trying to finish me off overnight!
If you'd like to have a laugh at my misfortune and enjoy a little fun halloweeny style vlog, then hit that play button..
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!

Well done at sticking with it. It's a good video , those tents are somewhat renowned for condensation, and with the camo net, that wouldn't have help .
Always pack a micro towel to wipe it down before packing up..

    Hi Lilu,
Firstly, hats off to you for seeing it through, can’t be easy being on your own in a forest, I’m sure the more you do it the easier it will get. Shame about the damp wood but you managed ok. Had no idea about the adverts, that you don’t get paid unless we watch all the way through. I’m on a learning curve to. Thanks for going to the effort of taking us with you.

I'd be interested in how this tent works out for you, it seems great value for money compared to the Helm 2. I just got back this afternoon after a long weekend in a Berghaus Cheviot 2 and it was a tad awkward getting in and out in bad weather. It doesn't help that I am well over 6 foot but I rigged up a small tarp over the entrance to give me a better cooking area. Love the Sherwood forest you are lucky to have it on your doorstep.

@#adventureswithlilu if you wrap the guylines around the tent poles a few times b4 pegging them out it stabilizes things and takes any strain from the wind off the guy attachments.. olso if you wrap the elastic attachments from the lid/top hat around the poles a few times it stops a lot of wind rattling... the footprint that comes with it seems to fit a lot of tents ( if you start acquiring tents, as we all do ) so saves you money buying footprints... another well made video... take care of yourself and shine on xxx

Hi Lilu, this was a lovely video, really enjoyable watch indeed. Correct me if I'm wrong, did I see a comment from you somewhere that said you'd lost your Drone ? I'm sure you probably already know that some Drone flyers attach 'Apple Air Tags' to their drones using self adhesive Air Tag holders so if your drone goes 'walkies' again you can track it down using your phone, well that's the theory anyway ?

Happy Halloween. The scariest things in Sherwood Forest are not the rangers hunting for wild campers or the dead squirrels or the angry squirrels throwing chestnuts from the trees, it is the naturists! Not seen any myself but on a bike ride last summer we passed through the forest on the way to Clumber and one of our party claimed to have seen naked people in the woods. Not quite believing it, I checked on the internet and apparently the forest is used by naturists. I expect it is too cold for them to be out at this time of the year.
