Massachusetts appears to be a very studious state.
Yvonne Wabai i live in mass and its only in a few places, where i am no one tries except a select few my friend was offered a spot in Phillips Exeter high school and i might go with him, its not far from where we go to school.
u have to get accepted first lol
Timmy2K did you end up attending lol
obviously they have haverd and dartmooth
@@ch4_r1ie74 Dartmouth is in New Hampshire
I didn't even know they had 154 AP courses....
It seems like everyone takes AP courses now. No big deal.
It said 154 advanced or AP classes lol.
There are not. The video said advanced or AP, meaning they have 154 that are the same level as AP, without being designed just to prepare you for the AP exam only like most AP courses.
Nice list, but SAT doesn't measure intelligence. Sorry.
It kind of does. Sorry.
Different aspects of intelligence
He never said it did he just gave out the scores
@@hanshiklee983 you're right, it kind of does. But getting high scores on the SATs mostly depends on hard work
Hanshik Lee not really it measures some aspects of intelligence, but is not the only thing that shows your intelligence as a person
Where is St. Paul's on this list? Why am I up at two in the morning? (Let me give you a hint... I am doing homework that is due today. It assigned in class on Saturday. Who does Saturday Classes? SPS sure does.)
peddie does as well... yikes
Oof
I just was accepted into Groton and was waitlisted at SPS
Same thing here at Choate
Let’s face it, once you get into the top 10 schools, the differences are marginal at best. It’s all about fit.
I go to Milton Academy, the work load and pressure there is unbearable...
RUBIK3 CUBE3 my sis did
RUBIK3 CUBE3 how is it i am applying there is it rly hard?
"the work load and pressure there is unbearable" That's literally what he just said. With your comprehension skills you are going to have a really hard time there. lol
Marick Thompson u go there too?
Eric Jung No.
I went to IMSA which was considered a top high school at the time, yet now it’s nowhere near the top
I went to Linsly, a school with an about 60% acceptance rate, and thought that was hard enough. Silent study time from 7:30-9:30 every night, expectations and a heavy course load. Can't imagine how stressed the guys boarding in New England must feel.
I go to Lawrenceville - school every Saturday. Just as bad as it sounds.
MCCreeperBros I'm gonna be a freshman this fall at lville and tbh I don't like the sound of Saturday classes :/
Wheeling central right here
if yall don't like learning why'd u apply
Linsly, know it well. We (Kiski) used to play you guys in football. Beautiful campus you have there in West Virginia.
Currently a freshman at #1, St. Albans. I can tell you our workload is absolutely heavy, and you need to put off lots of time for school and school only. Boarding is optional, and only 33 of our kids do it. However, everyone who's attended this school has had a bright future.
Illinois Math And Science Academy should be in this
Phillips and Exeter are the top two. And many of these schools shouldn't even be on this list, like Milton Academy. Where is Choate, Deerfield, or even Hotchkiss? Why the fuck are you ranking this by average SAT score?
Chilton Preparatory Academy is better.
I LOVE YOU
Better than what?
It’s real name is choate rosemary hall.
Why even have AP classes? Why don't they just allow students to go take college classes right away? This system doesn't make sense to me. If they're the same level, why don't just start college early? But only community colleges allow that... and that blocks you from Ivy Leagues. Fishy..
How is that fishy?
They are not the exact same. They are the high school version that is supposed to prepare you for college.
If you have more than a few real college classes on your transcript you have to apply as a transfer student which makes admission to undergrad complicated and weird if you’re trying to get into an elite school or specific program
Thomas Jefferson School represent also the campus is a lot prettier than what they showed
I was disappointed that my school was only number 8. But I loved it. It gave me access to resources most college students don't have.
It will always have a special place in my heart.
Ur schools my dreammmmmmm
#8 according to BI. Most people in the boarding school world regard Andover and Exeter as the top two boarding schools in the country. Average SAT scores aren't the measure of success.
@@counterculture10 I always have to remember how subjective these things are. What was perfect for me, may be a nightmare for someone else.
@@mervyngreene6687 absolutely, it's all about the right fit.
your school is my dream school any tips
Lazy research. Always review the assumptions. SAT has been based on highest possible score of 1600 since 2016 and these better schools dont teach to the SAT.
This video came out 2015. :/ couldn’t even read the description.
I'll be attending The Webb School next cemester
Hopefully, you will learn how to spell over there.
I go to Concord Academy
do you like it?
Why is Saint Mark's in Texas not on here?
Unliveliness I don’t think St. Mark’s is a boarding school, is it? Also weird that they’d put Hockaday on that list as well.
@@johncampbell1684 well hockaday does have some boarders.
@@johncampbell1684 SMS is a boarding school I think
My sister went to Philips Exeter academy
Matthew Scott same
Probably got wait listed from Andover then lol
Justin Wang andover a public school
I just got accepted at Choate, Lawrenceville, St. Paul’s School, and a few more.
John Smith I got into Andover on a full scholarship ayyyy
I go to Girard college great school you should look it up
Please, may we all check our privileges.
Where’s Choate
Idk a ton of these are kinda no name
@@victoriaoguta word
Superficial. SAT scores are correctly not even considered for acceptance at Canadian institutions of learning. Andover has always had the most outstanding students because they seek out students with talents above and beyond test taking skills.
SAT score doesn't tell you your smarts
So much pressure there.....
If you can't get a girl, get a Deerfield boy.
I attend school of lil pump
im 13 years old ill come back when i go to one of these
Where is Woodstock acadmy
Heyy does anyone go to these schools? I’m applying to some of them and would appreciate some advice. 😊
Unidentified Blobfish im currently a senior at webb idk if u still need this advice, lol, but literally these schools workload is insane. if ur up for it, do it, as the colleges u can get into is a very wide range, but dont under estimate the rigor.
Heyyy did you get in? Any advice? Thank you for your time and energy in advance lol. ❤️
@@AA-bu5islmao I forgot I even commented here but here’s an update ig. I did end up getting accepted to a few schools such as St. Andrews and Loomis. I’d just say that you need good grades, good SSAT score and some strong extracurriculars. Hope that helps! Also, what the person commented above is pretty accurate. These schools all have a large workload but if you have good time management, it’s not too bad.
@@unidentifiedblobfish2742 ohhhh thank you so much! Hope you stay blessed! Have a great day!
da fuq there are 154 ap courses
Who else is going to Linsly?
I NEED PICTURES OF THEIR DORMS
Groton?!
ik that's what i was thinking
no deerfield?
the music is very good
This countdown thing seems like they just looked at the sat scores oh wait sat if for college it’s ssat for boarding school and just because it requires a high ssat score doesn’t mean that they r good schools for example Exeter is the number one school in the country but it was number 4 so
r u just upset u didnt get into any of these schools? who said ssat scores define whether a school is good or not?
wtf r u talking about
Applying to all TSAO schools + Groton + Kent school, hoping for the best
Did you get accepted?
@@tarikmansoor9088 decision day is march 10
Ik a lot of people who go to St Albans
How did I end up here
It's better to go to a public magnet school or a prestigious day school. A lot of these boarding schools are depressing as hell and way too isolated.
I disagree
You probably got waitlisted or rejected.
@@hanshiklee983 you killed these people in the comments two years ago. I got waitlisted so I take offence
You're using SAT scores and Ivy attendance as the measure intelligence? Not much rigor or sophistication. Fail.
Lville ‘21!!!!!!!!!!
Why wasn't bolles in their
So is any school like in films or not?
*where is SAS?!*
St.Andrews DE?
All of the Massachusetts schools are so overrated. I live in Massachusetts and am applying to high schools right now and there are so many schools here that cost so much less than these schools and provide a better education and high school experience.
Then why are you watching this video? All these schools are NOT overrated. They all deserve the corresponding "fame" or "awe" they receive. Also, I'm sure that whatever schools you're talking about are nowhere near the education experience the boarding schools in the video above provide. Maybe it's not right for you, but thinking about it objectively, many of these schools do offer much more opportunity for students than a regular public school.
Waste of money
Middlesex school wasn't that the school in Donnie darko
Does anybody know about IMSA because I need help
I can help
Best schools are the New England 5: Deerfield, Choate, Hotchkiss, Andover and St. Paul's. Of course, I went to Deerfield so I'm a little bit prejudiced.
dude you left out exeter, which is arguably better that every one of these schools! Especially deerfield and hotchkiss!
@@rileyjones2785 As an Andie, I hate to admit it, but there is no way you can exclude Exeter (or Lawrenceville). I am also obliged to point out that these surveys tend to highlight the "major" prep schools. There are a number of extraordinary institutions that tend to fly under the radar. In most cases by choice. Two that come to mind are Miss Porter's and Dalton. The success of a student depends on whether he/she is attending the appropriate institution.
I thrived at Phillips Academy, Andover. But I know a lot of people who avoided it like the plague. They discovered the perfect school for them at Miss Porter's or Woodside Priory.
A list like this should be taken with a ton of salt. It is the same as trying to compare schools like Harvard and Stanford with Williams and Haverford. What is perfect for one person would be torture for another.
any tips to get in?? need them bad🥲
andover is so much better than fucking lawrenceville
And Exeter is wayyyy better than Andover
Noah Muroff I just got accepted to l'ville today actually. Do they and Exeter hold some type of grudge against each other?
GO BIG BLUE!
got into andover, lville, hkiss, and SPS - go BIG BLUE!!
Big blue as in Andover just to be clear lol
which one of them is the most supporting to help financially?
Andover, Lawrenceville, Exeter generally do not even look at your financial status until after you are accepted.
Exeter has one of the lowest tuitions of any of the schools on this list
My friend got offered a spot in Exeter and basically if you do really good like straight As and Bs they let you go because they want you but if you drop below there, you will prob get kicked out or make you pay or something but if you do good enough they pay for you
Atlas ♡♡♡
Why are they all up in the northeast where it's colder than hayell????? Can't someone build a school somewhere else?
hockaday in texas
i go to sta
Lawrenceville'23 ayy

What about East Ridge Elementary School in East Ridge Chattanooga Tennessee everybody smart
Bruh
I currently go to St. Albans :)
FAKEEEEE
Papu
Cool what hrade
Reading, writing and arithmetic is what they teach. O, and don't forget critical thinking and common sense. Maybe we should "Install" their curriculum in to our public schools instead of common core. But then of course THEY couldn't find the 180 IQ students that do math backwards:) It's kind of a shame that the world is so out of control. Peace, very progressive.
And they teach classic Greek. Then you can read Homer and Plato in the original.
@@HAL-nt6vy There you go.

boarding schools are overrated. there are private day schools that offer just as good education, have just as many kids going to ivys and top tier colleges, and cost much less. boarding schools are mainly for the richies and international kids who can afford (aka asians esp. chinese)
The difference is the simulation of a college lifestyle, and the availability of teachers.
Bao Nghi many boarding schools offer blind admission/ financial aid, and to my understanding, many students in the top boarding schools were enrolled with financial aid. Boarding schools offer a plethora of benefits for incoming students, such as understanding of independence, sports, clubs, socialization, and of course personal growth. Boarding school education is a very good thing to invest/enroll in. Just think of the wide variety of courses and activities a student can get to enjoy!
Scholarship
Dear boarding school kids,
The criminals in prison in Norway have more freedom then you do.
So your situation totally sucks.
