That's a beautiful piece. I was wondering what would happen if you didn't put the top transparent layer, or what if you didn't have the bottom one. Can you tell me about your experience with this? Thank you :)

I have watched quite a few of your videos and others. I purchased the same Fuseworks kiln and have not had qreat luck. First, no one ever mentions the microwave wattage when they make a piece and post to U-Tube. You did say yours was a 1100w. Next, the thickness of the piece is of importance too. The directions that come with the kiln show how long to fuse but they are based on 1/4" and advise no longer than 6 minutes of fusing. I have been documenting all my tries with my 1200w microwave. It take about 10 minutes to get the glass to an orange glow. This video looks as though it took you about 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Is your microwave brand new? I must be doing something wrong.
