    I purchased the silver one. Love how the blade, hardware and handles all match! Great small EDC!

    CIVIVI has been hitting home runs all this year imo. I like this a lot although it's on the small side compared to what I prefer to carry. Yeah, the lockbar tension could be a bit lighter.
    Just a reminder that the new Imperium is also NitroV, and all of Ferrum Forge's production models have used NitroV so far. Nah, drop point Brazen is a bit better than this - a bit larger, better action and multiple opening options make it a knife I'm much more likely to EDC. And the drop point version is 14C28N steel, vs 9Cr on the tanto blade.

      agreed, i prefer the dp brazen all around. i will probably be picking this up as well for when i travel and dont know the exact knife laws in each area since the blade is under 3. also just to clarify, the tanto brazen uses D2.

    Nice little knife. Civivi knives are so good. And if you want a Civivi with a larger but similar blade, the Baklash is a great option too.

    I snagged the "pre-release" silver version off the table at Blade Show. The knife is very slicy / great cutter, if they used lighter handle materials it would be an outstanding EDC. For the money an excellent knife. Thanks for the video. : )

    I just got the Nox with the stainless handle. It is a fantastic small EDC knife which I will be carrying a lot. I also have the Ferrum Forge Stinger and Prolix with Nitro-V and I am very happy with the steel.

    • @Mr_Marcus_H

      How does it compare to the stinger? Been wanting to see a side by side of this and maybe the gent too

    • @danielcox5849
      @danielcox5849 2 года назад +1

      @@Mr_Marcus_H The Nox is a great little knife but the Stinger is the better knife. The blade is a bit longer and wider and is a great slicer. The Stinger weighs less and has superior ergonomics. It also can be opened with the flipper tab or middle finger flicked using the fuller. If I could only keep one knife in my collection it would be the Stinger.

    I think the best description of Nitro-V I’ve heard came from Brian Nadeau. He said it’s basically a super clean version of AEB-L.

    I always hated the stiffness of steel framelocks, this is no exception.

    • @charbum
      @charbum 3 года назад

      Stiffness where? I assume you mean the lockup itself? Because it really isn't bad at all. I've had many liner locks that were stiffer than the lock is on my nox.

    □Something I rarely rarely ever see in a knife review is Demonstrating the detent by slowly closing the knife until you can here and see it suck up into the handle...(close up)
    Same with opening...slowly open till it's herd and seen lock up....
    I would appreciate this very much.. It tells me a lot about a knife...tks.

    Hey Brian, I just purchased the Civivi Keen Nadder with 690 steel. I dont know to much about the different steels, but I really like this knife! Did I make a bad choice? Thanks

    • @CKshouta
      @CKshouta 3 года назад +2

      You did not make a bad choice. N690 is on the other side of the spectrum for a stainless steel: good wear resistance but lower toughness. Which works out fine for keen Nadder's thicker geometry

  • @cueball981

  • @sixfootseven

    I don't believe nitro v has excellent stainless properties. It's the only steel I've rusted and it's happened on multiple of my knives in it.

    • @CKshouta
      @CKshouta 3 года назад +1

      NitroV is about as stainless as AEBL it's based on. Not a lot but not too bad

    • @sixfootseven
      @sixfootseven 3 года назад

      @@CKshouta ya I agree but every reviewer seems to think it's way more stainless than it is

    • @SliceyDicey
      @SliceyDicey  3 года назад +1

      What knife is it? I had that problem with the Drop Schwarz design that Millit made. Nitro-V is NOT supposed to react like that. It's based on AEBL with added stuff specifically to make it highly corrosion resistant and it definitely has been on my Ferrum Forge.
