It feels good to clean house! I actually haven’t listed the Hobbs yet but I got one inquiry I need to honor first when I get a sec. I’ll let you know if they’re still available in case you need temptations to buy books you don’t need haha.
I loved this video. You are helping me to make needed decisions. Thank you for being a fellow organizer. My plan for 2025 includes more unhauling to make my library a more peaceful space.
That makes me so happy. Thank you! It’s such a process. The more times I go through it, the more it seems to come together. Here’s to simplifying in 2025!
I sell a lot of books on pango and I invested in padded envelopes of two sizes, one small for paperbacks and a larger one that fits 1-2 hardcovers. If I ship two... well, the hardcovers tend to be wrapped. Seriously, you can just wrap them in paper towels and it'll help protect them especially in a padded envelope. Though I think my new favorite thing is shelf liner; though ordering actual bubblewrap is probably cheaper :) I am on the last book of Temeraire.
It really hurts to get hardbacks damaged in shipping - good job for taking good care of them! I get enough packing material from all the books I order (🤦🏻♀️) that I haven’t needed to buy any yet.
@@TheObsessiveBookseller Partly some of the stuff I sell is my old D&D collection so some of it is priced quite high. I do not want anything banged up in shipping. I try to take lots of pictures especially if there is existing staining (mostly age and dust) or any other issue. I don't want buyer's remorse :)
Those Dragonlance books, The Dragons and The Dragons At Wars, one is a short story collection and one is a sequel to the last short story, and I enjoyed both.
This was amaizing as it gives view into how you think about items in collection. I need to be also hardcore as you. I collect tooo much 🧐 . . . Yes books but I am into some anime figures....and that is expensive 😮💨 but I am enjoying myself ☺️💖 !!! Just opened a Sakura Miku with Lantern. So so so perfect in PINK and cherries are my favorite frut. Now I want a second one. Know exactly which one ☺️✨️🙈 Lovebthat green-ich blink blink and the blue one that "sit".
I hear that! I’ve been hanging onto these for so long, I’m kind of tired of them finally. And it helps that I finally found ones I really love, whereas the ones I’m letting go were bought when they were the best I could find at the time.
I did get most of the things I had on my shelves and either put them in a drawer or in a box in the cellar. I will throw other things out before I throw them out due to sentimental value but I was tired of them just getting dusty.
A good purge feels good once in a while to reset. That way whatever you bring back out comes with a bit more intentionality. I need to do this in my office.
I lately don't order books online if it can be avoided, because they always get damaged even if new.😢 I rather order and ask them to be delivered to the nearest bookshop and go pick them up there.
Me too, it’s such a pain to go through all of the return processing. Whereas you know bookstore people get it and are more likely to take care of your copy. If I wasn’t such a recluse I’d do it that way more often rather than gambling.

It was less that and more no one noticing there were two of them, especially the girlfriend. There was a specific tech reason but it’s has been too long and I can’t remember what struck me.
Wow this was a massive unhaul Niki! Your Hobb unhaul is something I’m sad I missed. Not that I need them all physically, but it’s tempting lol.

It makes me tired just watching you deal with all this inventory. The fact that you enjoy the space more says a lot.
I’m so tired. I figured I have to start digging myself out gradually. Although this wasn’t very gradual haha
It's a big one indeed. I didn't even know coverless copies was a thing. Cool video. A lot of space cleared just in time for the Christmas haul 😂
Haha I’m deliberately not acknowledging how many I’ll be bringing in next!

That’s good to know. I may look into digital copies at some point. It will be telling if I’m still thinking about them in a few months.

I would really struggle getting rid of my dragons. I have zero room left but can't get rid lol. I also have the little blue ty stuffed dragon.

I considered Mickey 7 very funny in a silly way, it was a 4 star read for me, but a lot of people didn't like it.
I must not have been in the right mindset. All the logistics of it were bothering me.
