Sofia, I sound like a very broken record, but you continue to do the very best reviews, period. Always informative, balanced, great pro's and con's, superlative comparisons.......You put in a ton of thought and time into these, and kudos to you for doing such a great job on such a consistent basis. These eyeshadows are lovely, and despite the price, I think I will def try one. The color range is lovely and the formula sounds perfect for my less than young eyelids. Keep up the great work and thank you!
Thank you so much Beth 💕 it really makes my day when I see your comments like this because I spend so much time preparing in advance for the reviews so that they can be helpful. Sometimes that means I get fewer views for posting later but the quality is important to me :)
Buying the case and eyeshadow was a shocker to me as well. I wanted green eyeshadow. This was more expensive than the Hermès. I figured i would give this a try. I love both formulas. Have not been sold on the TF products as not consistent. So far all your recommendations have been spot on. Thank you. ❤❤❤
Thank you for your comparison swatches! I bought Sundried Driftwood and am SO glad there's no glitter. It's a beautiful, daytime, work-friendly makeup. It became my go-to the first time I tried it. In the past I have panned a lot of Viseart petits quads, Tilbury Exaggereyes, several Chanel quads, the Denona Glam Palette, and assorted indie brands for fun.
OMG 😊you came through! I'm eyeing the no 4, the green, purple and no 7 starlight palette! No one had done the starlight palette yet. It just looks like the perfect every day palette to me! I'm definitely not getting the component though. I like their quads because of the smaller size and the plastic packaging the palettes come in is quite sturdy especially when you keep the outer carton too
I bought Sand Dune. I bought mine from Japan. My total cost was $100.00. That included the shadows, case and shipping. I’m very pleased with my choice. I considered also buying Sea Grass but I have Tom Ford’s Velour Kaki. Perhaps they’re too similar. I’ve decided to hold off. Your eye looks are fabulous as is your review. Thanks.❤️👏❤️
Great review! It was so helpful to find out how to use that primer. Also, Sundried Driftwood, was my favorite from the photos online, but so many of these palettes look so close. So seeing them on you really helped. And the look is exquisite. I think I will wait to see if these go on sale somewhere in the future. No urgency to run out and spend $110. But your comparisons helped me see why I would want the one. Love the look. And thanks for the video.💚
@@SofiaSeesBeauty I'll watch for that. Also, Macy's had cosmetic discounts of 15% on beauty earlier this year, which included Cle de Peau. I bought two of their highlighters there. And they are just sublime. So 🤞🏻 they'll have at least one more. Right now they don't have the new eye shadows yet.
I am in the mature range and will be purchasing Sundried Driftwood, and Starlight Splendor. I have two palettes purchased from last year, which are nice, but can be very powdery to get the color payoff. I am looking forward to the creamier formula. I am new to the luxury makeup brands which was a revamp for me last year. Cle De Peau, Chanel, YSL, and Tom Ford have been my vibe. I am interested in your Mother's opinion. You are such a good daughter. Thank you for another comprehensive review.
I prefer the YSL eyeshadow for the wet looking sparkling shimmering shades (100, 400, 500) ❤😊 , for japan brands Surrat has also fantastic soft silky-smooth eyeshadow, Suqqu or Lunasol is also great and much cheaper than cdp
Another great video with a lot of helpful information. Thank you! I did notice on the last swatch. They are blurring too and seems like the perfect amount of sheen not to emphasize wrinkles for us with maturing skin 😊
Fantastic review, and really appreciate you sharing all the reasons for your preferences, because we all have different preferences. All the palettes you bought look great on you, especially the green palette! And maybe with a nude/beige lip to finish it off 👌🏼
Your reviews are so thorough! My two favorite shadows are Dior and Cle de Peau so I will definitely be buying 2 of these new Cle de Peau. I like the formula on these two brands the most. I like to control my own sparkle and would prefer to use a topper when I want more sparkle. Pat McGrath has too much sparkle for my liking. I am probably boring, but I prefer these more muted color stories. The Cle de Peau formula is perfect. I love it! Worth the money. I'm buying #1 and #9. Too bad #12 is sold out. I wonder if they will restock it.
I feel like for people who bought the Isamaya palette these would be great to combine with it for travel. Take a few quads and take the Isamaya palette and you then have toooons of options.
Wow, it all looks super beautiful on you, dear Sofia, and what an explanation, and the comparisons, i really want to try these soon!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩Thanks so much, have a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘😘😘
Thank you Sofia for your honest and thorough review! Appreciate all your hard work! I've tried the older CDP formula and I thought they were just ok and just not enough pizzaz for me, but def geared toward more seasoned eyelids. I like the pizzaz/glitter, so I think I'll stick to the YSL, plus their packaging is 🤩. I kind wish CDP didn't charge extra for the component. $110 is almost up there in PM Mothership prices, and we are only getting 4 shades! Have a great weekend!!!😀
Absolutely love how you did the CDP review! I especially appreciated the comparisons between the different brands at the end 🎉 I purchase the CDP 6 caviar pearls- thank you very much for the excellent channel you do!!
Hi, Sofia! While searching for reviews of the Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad 11 Azure Blue Sea, I came across your RUclips videos by chance, and they've been like hidden gems to me. Your content is filled with honest, analytical insights, yet it's also warm and heartfelt, giving me both positive energy and great makeup tips. I just wanted to express how grateful I am for the thoughtful and sincere videos you create. I’m already looking forward to your next one! Sending love beams from Seoul. P.S. What’s your favorite blue or silver eye palette? I’d love to see your video someday featuring a makeup look using blue and silver combinations!
The blush with the green look is so beautiful! I stumbled on these on offer, so I’m trying to figure out whether they are for me. Than you for your video 👍
My eyelids are too oily and my eyeshadows crease by the time I get home from work. Beautiful colors but maybe too creamy for me.I totally appreciate this review though!! Awesome!! I really like that Tutu Dior but now I’m looking for it and can’t find it.
This price point might keep me away although the Ocean palette might tempt me later. Lilas Deux wins for me! Wow that one is spring dreams! 💜🌷🌸 The Viseart quality is just soooo good idk about paying $110! Glad it’s better than the TF Crème!
I love Sundried Driftwood on you, I'm not sure if it would work for my medium tan skin tone but out of all of these it's the one that caught my attention. I honestly think $110 is just too much for a quad (especially the fact that means you're paying 30+ for a makeup case), but I am excited to hear about the formula and it looks like it performs beautifully on you. Definitely hope other companies follow suit on making more similar formulas at a more reasonable price.
I had picked out Sundried Driftwood as my favorite before you got to the demos. Now I am completely torn over the Chanel dupe! I love that look on you. Great review. Thank you.
Starlight Splendor is gorgeous… I want it..but can’t afford it. I like it with the primer, more- it stood out more-gave it more intensity. Sundried Driftwood is gorgeous-honestly, they all looked beautiful on you.
Fab review - thank you so much! My go-to brands for my 64yo eyelids have been Dior, Chanel and I just love the way Natasha Denona eyeshadows make me look and feel. However, I am now intrigued to see whether the CdP shadows improve the appearance of my wrinkly lids. Thanks so much for the deep dive info!!!
Got Tom For forbidden pink from cosmetics company for half the price 42$ would like to try 1 of these eventually great review hope you do a review on the Valentino liquid blush/lipstick I got 5 and I’m obsessed!
The Sundried driftwood looks beautiful but I’m going to hold out for the new Natasha Denona mini release. The color story looks very similar but with a couple of shimmer shades.
I’d like driftwood finish from the three more, then your comparison with Chanel and show how similar these two are😊 suggested to choose another palette 🥰 comparison was very helpful .
Sundried driftwood is definitely my first choice and I will get it but I actually just got the green one. I'll ask for the Driftwood for Xmas if I like it or maybe I'll buy it myself sooner..lol I have been dien to try these. I really didn't need more eyeshadow 5 pallets this week😳I need to be stopped!! Plus the holiday stuff I ordered durning the sale , I'm really doing a luxury makeup splurge lately.
Thank you for sharing these, Sofia! Initially, I had no interest but I may rethink that when Sea Grass comes back. I’m actually very interested in eyeshadows with that kind of skin care and creaminess. As I’m aging, I notice my eyelid space is dry and sometimes eyeshadows tend to look dry and hang on to parts of my skin that make the eyelids look super dry. It’s not every day so it may be a dehydration issue. Either way, it would be nice to have a creamier shadow. I think that’s why I love eyeshadow sticks and liquid eyeshadows! ❤ The Sundried Driftwood looks really nice on you! 😊 I would love to hear what your mom says about these!!!! 😮😊
I got Sea Grass. and have to admit I didn"t know about the primer and used as a topper (LOL)..but after watching your video I know now how to use it. Will I get another one ??? maybe not. Just put and order for two of the YSL quads. XO
Thank you so much for this video and for your fair and honest opinion ! I definitely will be picking one up now! I like the brand overall so now it’s a no-brainer ❤😊
Funny I always remember Mel Thompson saying Surratt beyond beige was foundation for your eyes . If I get the cle de pea I will get alone without package lol
Sundried Driftwood looks like the old favorite Cle De Peau Satin Moon, but Satin Moon has the most complex, ethereal, twinkling shimmers. Talking of expensive eyeshadows, I have some Serge Lutens eyeshadow quads. They cost $162 per palette. They also used skin nurturing ingredients, swatch like silk and apply the same way. It's smoothening on the lids and makes my eyes look like I've got lid estate. I also love the ultra minimalistic packaging...think The Row. Is it worth the price?..maybe, maybe not. Is the luxury brand name part of the reason for the pricing...possibly. But people with textured lids swear by them.
I have sensitive eyes and I have tried EVERYTHING. These are a fantastic beautiful eyeshadow. Better than Chanel or anything else. I got mine for $75 each. My only negative is that I want them to go cruelty free.
i loveeee your reviews and i’ve found myself searching for your videos every time i come on this platform. the green and cool toned pink palettes were my absolute favorites on you, but they’re wayyyy out of my pay grade. i was FINALLY able to find the YSL 100 stora dolls yesterday and they’re shipping it to me as we speak, and i’m SOOOO excited!!! the other one i have my eyes on right now is 400 babylone roses. the other one is the cool toned silver one that hasn’t arrived here yet. i don’t mind a little sparkle, actually i LOVE the sparkle!!! viseart makes a lot of my favorite shadows and they’re beginner friendly. again, thank you so much for this review!!! 🥰🥰🥰
These look beautiful and at age 71 I’m really tempted because they don’t emphasize texture and have no major sparkle ( which never looks good on me even tho I like sparkle- sigh…) but I have the Tom Ford Violet Satine palette which looks like a darker version of the drift wood one which I really like ! I wish the green palette was more cool toned because I’m always looking for a green palette. Great review as always!
Wait…so it’s $110 for 3 shades and a primer? 😮 Oh wait, but you can still use it like a regular highlight shade, too, in the middle of the lid and inner corner. Whew! These are too expensive for me to stock up on several color stories and have this become a staple eyeshadow formula for me. The swatches and eye looks are gorgeous, though. They glow. I’ll have to reserve these for special color stories like the GREEN..Sea Grass! 💚 I might get the Sea Grass refill. If I really loved it, I could get a case for it. It doesn’t seem as extravagant to pay $75 then pay $35 😂 It FEELS different. On the other hand, I have Suqqu 124 and 125 from Pre-Summer and Summer this year which are both green forward quads that are more subtle on the eye if what I’m going for is a sophisticated, “work appropriate” green look. That’s how I’d use this CDP, too, so maybe I don’t “need” it. But the tones are different. Hmmm. What I REALLY want is for YSL to release the blue/green quad in the US and to eventually give us a green quad (and a lavender) because it’s my favorite formula discovery of the year! I have no problem with the glittery shine in those quads!
You looked stunning! Wow! Woah- the bottom left shade is a primer?? So you are really paying over $100 USD for three shadows! 😬 The packaging of these is like my Christian Louboutin powder. I paid $50 for the powder and $75(!) for the case. And… it’s too warm for me so I use it as a$125 blush 😅 Sea Grass is my favorite! I think I’ll just get the YSL. I hate a few Charlotte Tillbury palettes and they are lovely, so I think I’ll pass even though Sea Grass is so lovely!
I bought the refills of coral reef and the blue one, and they arrive tomorrow. I thought the green one might have too much yellow to be flattering but it looked lovely on you. I have magnetic stickers and empty palettes, but if I do really like the formula I’ll probably order more but from fudejapan. It’s crazy how much more expensive these shadows and components are here vs there.
Chanel hard panned horribly so I haven’t bought a Chanel quad for 12 years. I tended to prefer Dior. I also wear contacts so a creamy shadow has been impossible for me to wear. They sure looked beautiful on you!
They seem to be completely sold out? How can I get these? I love, love, love their formula and colors and can't wait to get these. I haven't been this excited about a new launch in a long time. They seem soft and may not be so travel friendly. I will leave them at home. On a side note, I do not like CT Tilbury eyeshadows. They get hard pan quickly and have no pigment. A definite no for me. Same for Chanel - not like. Dior is closest to the CDP formula and I love Soft Cashmere.
I get the sense from the Japanese RUclipsrs that I watch that they wear their shadow much sheerer. I've also noticed a lot of them apply their shadows with their fingers and their application process is different. Serina is my favorite one and here she is reviewing the quads she has. ruclips.net/video/BRlguMR2ad4/видео.html I'm really shocked by the US markup on these. They retail for 9,680円 (tax included) in Japan, which is $69.50 at today's exchange rate. The refills are 6,830円 or about $45.87USD. And if you get them in duty free they're about 10% less. I guess we are paying for the air freight shipping and import and customs tax that hits when you import over $800 worth of goods in one day. Unless you really NEED the case you can just buy the refills. I'm going to wait until I can see and swatch them in person before I decide.
Why do these lux companies charge a gazillion dollars for MAKEUP ??! ITS MAKEUP PEOPLE😮😮😮. See, everyone still buys and they’ll keep upping that price. Refills thank you. Ha ha ha. Edit. And I will try it on these 62 yr old eyes. 😂😂will see how they work. Ok, sorry. But it’s so sad how much it costs.😊. Wait, so that much FOR ONLY 3 colors. Holy crap 😂😂😂😮😮😮
Thank you Sofia, your make up today very beautiful, thank you for your analysis, you so helped me choose my beloved eyeshadow seem like Chanel 👍👍👍👍🩷❤️🩷😊

I love that you give such great details on all of the quads and brands. Really helps to make an informed decision! Beautiful eye look, BTW!

Yes exactly Karen! A very luxe texture without being too sheer
I like the third one! This eyeshadow with conserved and elegant aesthetics, is definitely my type!
For sure!
I find myself gravitating towards your videos more and more. You're never boring and you hit all the right points!

Omg these are so elegant and classy. I have no interest at first, but wow. These are stunning. Definitely going to check them out.
I feel like for people who bought the Isamaya palette these would be great to combine with it for travel. Take a few quads and take the Isamaya palette and you then have toooons of options.
Great idea! Or combine with the new Viseart palette that just launched today
The part that I enjoyed most is the comparison with another top brands. Thank you dear Sofia❤❤

Thank you for mentioning that you have to buy the case and the refill. I had no idea haha

why thank you Nicole!

I ordered 12 and 6 from Japanese store, they priced it cheaper in Japanese market, US always get the most expensive pricing
I know I heard that also! Crazy lol
Thank you so much for this video and for your fair and honest opinion ! I definitely will be picking one up now! I like the brand overall so now it’s a no-brainer ❤😊
Nice!! My pleasure I had a lot of fun testing these out
What mascara are you using in this video, Sofia?
Funny I always remember Mel Thompson saying Surratt beyond beige was foundation for your eyes . If I get the cle de pea I will get alone without package lol
I bought the beyond beige and I have to say I'm not super wowed. It's fine
@@SofiaSeesBeautysame!!
I agree, but I bought some surratt blushes and they are incredible on my skin- truly lit from within type glow, very smooth and light.

Beautiful. How does the Sea Grass compared to CT Green Lights. I have the latter but it is so glittery that I rarely use it.
Good question. The colors are very similar but like you said the CT one is higher impact and the Cle de Peau doesn't have any glitter
I have sensitive eyes and I have tried EVERYTHING. These are a fantastic beautiful eyeshadow. Better than Chanel or anything else. I got mine for $75 each. My only negative is that I want them to go cruelty free.
I think the first palette reminds me of Tropical Dusk, but more light and blended

Probably!
You look stunning with the green one.
Anyway, I think you are right. These palettes are targeted for women my age, over 50.
Coming back to see if the rose fragrance in these shadows has caused issues for anyone else. I’m so sensitive to rose! 😢
I might get the Sea Grass refill.
Yes me too! We need more colors from YSL here in the US
You mentioned the primer. Which brand?
Julie did you skip ahead like I said not to do in the video? I'm just teasing :) I explain the primer in the product details
@@SofiaSeesBeauty Ah, got it. Somehow I missed that couple of seconds (probably kids borthered me at that moment) :)
CDP Skincare is a fortune. The moisturizers are over $900! The CDP price point is almost insulting.
Ok, you influenced me! 😢 CDP out of stock on Driftwood.
It’s in stock at the other retailers!
You looked stunning! Wow!
Woah- the bottom left shade is a primer?? So you are really paying over $100 USD for three shadows! 😬
The packaging of these is like my Christian Louboutin powder. I paid $50 for the powder and $75(!) for the case. And… it’s too warm for me so I use it as a$125 blush 😅
Sea Grass is my favorite!
I know it's crazy how much they are marked up here in the US :-/
Chanel hard panned horribly so I haven’t bought a Chanel quad for 12 years. I tended to prefer Dior. I also wear contacts so a creamy shadow has been impossible for me to wear. They sure looked beautiful on you!
Очень интересно🌹
They seem to be completely sold out? How can I get these? I love, love, love their formula and colors and can't wait to get these. I haven't been this excited about a new launch in a long time. They seem soft and may not be so travel friendly. I will leave them at home. On a side note, I do not like CT Tilbury eyeshadows. They get hard pan quickly and have no pigment. A definite no for me. Same for Chanel - not like. Dior is closest to the CDP formula and I love Soft Cashmere.
Sundried Driftwood sold out 😢
I get the sense from the Japanese RUclipsrs that I watch that they wear their shadow much sheerer. I've also noticed a lot of them apply their shadows with their fingers and their application process is different. Serina is my favorite one and here she is reviewing the quads she has. ruclips.net/video/BRlguMR2ad4/видео.html
I'm really shocked by the US markup on these.
Yeah the markup is crazy! Thanks for the video recommendation 🙌
decent but I'm not gonna buy it. My all time favourite japanese high end quads would be and only be suqqu's first generation from 2003-2016~
Why do these lux companies charge a gazillion dollars for MAKEUP ??!
Please stop saying you guys
Thanks for the feedback!
