I had to stop the video at the very beginning and give a shout out to probably one of my all time favorite TF quads, Rose Tease. I've watched and loved your review of this quad, but for me it is one of those subtle winners in my collection. I struggle to NOT reach for it each day. The very reasons you listed for not liking it are some of the reasons I love it. 😂Do you want a pinkish look without much effort? Rose Tease. Do you want to look like you blended all day to create a simple smoked out look? Rose Tease. Do you just get tired of trying to put together a simple look and want to put something on in about a minute or 2? Rose Tease. Do you want an all matte look, and then add maybe a splash of shimmer from another palette? Rose Tease. It makes me look and feel sophisticated without hardly any effort. It is the pinky, powdery equivalent to my other favorite TF quad, Nude Dip. Okay, back to the video. 💞

I bought the silver essentials palette after seeing your review and I’ve really enjoyed it!
I LOVE my Jellyfish palette (although I put it in the Snake package so it would match the brush LOL.) As a pale girl I can actually use every single shade and that makes it so worth the money!

Such a joy to wake up to your enthusiasm! Love the video..helping me shop for my daughter (37) with light/medium skin. Thinking of the Guerlain Meteorites or the Cle de Peau Luminizer (they seem to be close to same use?) If one which would you recommend for someone. (She doesn't wear much makeup).

Great roundup and ranking. CdP won packaging this year, for sure. But I think the item I’m using most often day to day is the Chanel holiday eye palette, but I’ve noticed it fades and wears away which I don’t normally struggle with. The gold dior is another great, 2 and through palette!

@@Notperfecttonya "kackie reviews beauty" talks it up so much I bought it lol
I don't think it quite works the same on my skin, Kackie claims it never creases, looks like skin, wears all day, and also works kind of all over as spot foundation.
For me, it does crease, and I don't think it wears all day, but it is nice.
Nicer than Gucci on me. But it doesn't outperform catrice true skin or hourglass concealers 🤷‍♀️

I still think they’re pretty soft for the sale price, maybe not full price. I also don’t baby them like my pricier brushes, so it’s nice to have something medium maintenance that’s soft on my skin. As for the “makie” brush, from root to tip it is NOT like a $300-500 brush. But I do have one other brush from koyodo in the same hair and the bristles themselves and how they feel on my skin is pretty equal, and quite the price difference.

    • @methosimortal

And the gold medal goes to Dior!😁 It is a very interesting choice considering they have a “clean” formula. 🤔Dior holiday collection just arrived in Australia. I saw and try them on my eyelids yesterday. I used my fingers (no prep) and they look a bit sheer. Maybe with an eye primer and some brushes is a different story. They feel very soft, like a creamy formula and, of course, I like the colours because they are neutral. 😁You make me go and try again 😅 .

I have both the Silver Essentials palette from the Backstage line and I got the holiday quint in Promenade Doree to sort of compare Dior formulas. I like the Silver Essentials more, because you can actually layer the shades to get quite an opaque look on to your eyes which is a style of makeup I prefer. The Promenade Doree was much thinner in terms of formulation, even if did layer the shades quite a lot. With both palettes the end results were very pretty, but I'm much more excited about the next palettes in the Backstage line, if Dior keeps the same formula as they had on the Silver Essentials.

  • @DeborahCarlston

I'm using that Jellyfish palette more than I expected. I customized it with the Leopard cover. These are great full face and eye palettes for me, when I'm in a rush. I don't buy these every year, so it was a good choice for me. I use every pan. And I got that Rephr mini eye set. So great for detail work! That Dior silver palette, because it's different from anything else I have. I've never used the Backstage line before, except for the Lip Glow in the bullet. I also bought the Xenon palette. Again, I have nothing like it. As for it being grey scale, it's really Blue grey. The deepest colors are navy/teal. Just the one charcoal. The shimmers and the light colors provide more options than I expected. I love Cle de Peau Lumiziers. But this year's wasn't anything I was looking for. That Chanel eye palette is still interesting. But couldn't you get those looks from the Glam or I Need a Nude palettes? It's why I held off. Am I right? Great video. Thanks!💚

Hi Sofia; I am a relatively new subscriber. I was looking for a product to see the application and found your channel 😊. I heard you mention on this video you wished Guerlain would come out with more meteorites for deeper skin tones. Well, they did. I own two of them. They were shade #3 called Golden. I bought them from Sephora two or three years ago. They sold out quickly and never returned. When you mentioned the new meteorites were the #1 tone, I dug mine out and decided not to purchase. My skin tone is about a 1/2 shade deeper than Huda Kattan with a yellow undertone. Not only did I pull out my meteorites, but I purchased the foundation. I am 4 warm or dore’ in that foundation. I love your channel and hopefully I will make it to Paris one day. Wonderful Paris vlog.

The only lipsticks o have ever been able to wear is the CDP in Bamboo (which was discontinued) and the Dior Beige Couture in the Matte formula. Everything else overpowers my face. I think there’s a time and a place for glitter and I definitely understand why some people don’t like it, but there’s definitely a big difference between glitter and micro glitter’s that are in designer make up. I also have to say I can understand your take but as someone raising teenagers and around younger people because of it glitter is all the rage so I think that’s why they’re adding it in.😂🤷🏼‍♀️

I have both of these palettes. If you’re looking for warmer colors, the YSL 100 may not be what you are looking for. It is very neutral and slightly more cool leaning. I got the holiday Meteorites and it’s definitely my favorite holiday purchase (for myself)! It had been so long since I’d had Meteorites! The scent is heavenly!! Just hearing the pearls click clack in the container makes me happy!😍
My holiday fail was the Hourglass Jellyfish palette in Owl packaging. It’s not as useful as I thought it would be. The blushes look the same on me, I’m not a fan of the bronzer shade, and one of the finishing powders is way too light. I wish they do one warm blush and o e cool blush or something, anything to differentiate them. It was the first time I bought an Hourglass palette and it was a waste. I wish I’d bought a print of an owl and a couple of singles in products I’d actually use. Maybe I’m just not a face palette person.
I actually love the Xenon palette! I have worn it alone and it’s beautiful, but also paired it with so many other palettes and it works that way too!

Really enjoyed your ranking video. There are some lovely products this season but absolutely nothing wowed me. I really looked forward to every release and thought this would be the one but didn't end up picking up anything. Ranking is an individual thing and so I respectfully disagree about number one. The Dior reformulated palettes are just way too chalky and powdery. In the more silver palette, the silvery shades do not have enough differentiation in tone, the gold doesn't belong and I would never use the black as I am older and have very pale skin. So for me personally, I would pick the Chanel palette over the Dior. I didn't pick up the Chanel for the same reason that I didn't get the Dior, the colors are dupable, the black would not be used and the lightest shade is very glittery. Just overall a disappointing holiday release all around. I think my favorite, and what I purchased was the Tom Ford Highlighter in Rose Irise.
