A very close game. It was funny watching the Farseer forgetting about his psychic powers and the "sacrifical Ork Warlord". I've always made buildings like the ones in this battle count as high ground in terrain-heavy battlefields, and have pre-stated nearby terrain that normally block line-of-sight instead provide a cover save when shooting into or out of the building. I find it makes them a much more relevant tactical point in the battlefield that is otherwise set up to emphasise short range engagements.
Interesting battle and a beautiful battlefield! We never switched to 3rd edition back then. Mainly because our group didn´t want to buy all the new codices. Furthermore it seems to be a great increase in models compared to 2nd edition (1 Farseer, 2 Dreadnoughts, ... for just 1500 points). Keep up the great work guys!
3rd Ed removed all Ork awesomeness like their characterful and crazy weapons to even removing the clans and made them into boring fungoid clones of each other that all hit on 5+. 3rd ed (in hindsight) was the start of a pretty good ruleset (by 5th ed) but it really took alot of character out of the game and Orks got hit the hardest.
@mangoman9290 eldar got hit hard in 4th with everyone able to move and shoot twice And Nids got hit hard in 5th with the fearless rules of losing extra models in combat
Gteat battle. I have both Eldar and Orks so I could stage a similar engagement. I like 3ed. It is not as whacky as 2ed but not nearly as overwritten and complicated as later versions.

Man, 3rd ed looks much better with orks and eldar. Didn't have fun with IG at the time. But this looked a riot.
seems 3rd removed the wacky and fun 2nd edition stormboy jumppack randomness (a pity)
True but with that many jumppacks the battle would be about 4 hours long lol

I love 2nd ed but going back to 3rd with older wiser heads on our shoulder it is a good set of rules for battles
