The crazy thing about that last chord: in the backstage interview, they told us that Victor (the lead) was actually the one who sang the super high note. Can we say impressive?
If you look closely and listen carefully, you can indeed hear that he is singing that note. I did thought that was the lead in the first place ^^.
My mom’s friends and I were watching this competition and one of my mom’s friends was voting for a different quartet name (I’m blanking on the name) and when we heard Victor nearly bust his lungs she screamed very loudly “NO!” It was very funny
Backstage interview? Where can I find that?
Here from the future. Can confirm!
for some reason the “great little world we live in” chord sounds REALLY good to me, especially the first one idk why it seems to ring so well.
Always waiting for a finish like that and finally someone with (or perhaps without) the balls to do it. Fanfriggentastic!!!
Clustas I see what you did there. Had a chuckle 😂
I had them winning from my easy chair in Phoenix. I thought they crushed 6 songs with the ease of a butterfly.
I LOVE their tenor! Just so talented!
Swedish vocal technique has been the best in the world for about a century now.
That note can save lives!
Still wondering why these guys haven't won internationals yet. Awesome
we're all looking up at them because they are all so frickin tall
What a fantastic song! It's so rare to hear the audience gasp so audibly, like they do after the tenor solo at 1:50.
Seems crazy that they didn't win, but like with Max Q, I can't wait to hear them with another year of improvement next summer! Lemon Squeezy are gonna kill it!
I gasped when I heard it :P that gorgeous RING on it...
Jakob Wozniak unfortunately I don't think they're performing in the internationals this year 😭😭
this aged well
@@dylanv7668 Beyoncé must have loved it.
I just don't know what else a group has to do. This is out of control good.
OH. MY. WORD. THE LAST PART. OH MY WORD INCREDIBLE. Just so great!!!!
Lord have mercy, that is SO good!
I am truly impressed. What a great singing. This group is indeed above the average. Top quality.
High B flat. That's just insane!
Seriously listen and watch them sing... who sung the final Bb5????????? The lead or tenor?!
Syreds - Clash Royale & Clash of Clans That was the lead
I think the transcription of that tag is going to be published very soon on barbershoptags
2:03-2:08 might be the best 5 seconds on the contest stage ever
They definitely should've won. By far the best group in the competition
Frak idk about that they are my favorite but there are so many more great ones who were just as good
Frak forefront was the winner no contest. as much as i love this quartet, forefront had already been placing very high in previous years.
I'm not going to squabble about whether or not Forefront should have won (as much as I like Lemon Squeeze better and think that Forefront is too one dimensional, I think they likely did deserve it), but the argument that Forefront should have won because they had placed very high in previous years is bogus. Quartets sometimes have consistently placed high and never won, and sometimes quartets have skipped past other ones that had been consistently placing very high (e.g., Instant Classic)...
FWIW Frak, Lemon Squeezy actually DID win the finals round (in which they sang the above song). By that point, Forefront had already won the first two rounds and was far enough ahead that they still won overall.
marathonmongoose instant classic won their finals round and got second in quarters/semis in 2015 and they won
So clean and modern! Wow!
Double high Bb, ok Victor. Being able to stay so in tune that high is crazy. LS definitely deserved the gold this year. Forefront showed no improvement from last year while these guys upped their presentation and music greatly. Judges must have some strong confirmation bias.
have to agree with you there re forefront, as much as i love them.
For me LS or Stockholm syndrome took it
Forefront showed a lot of improvement compared to last year ...
fair enough about SS, im just a sucker for their blend! (y)
Yup, Forefront indeed did improve their sound :D
I know one song doesn't win the contest... but i thought Forefront sealed the judges with RIng a ding
That tag... Fucking show-offs
One word: dreamy.
fantastic!!
0:43 love this part
Credit is due to George and Ira Gershwin who composed this timeless piece in 1937.
Of course love has to look up at them. They're so fricking tall.
The stereo channels are flipped.
WHO WROTE / COMPOSED THIS SONG ?
rasmus krigstrom of ringmasters, swedish match, potential scandal, stockholm syndrome, and rawsundah
That post came out of nowhere.
Lemon Squeezy's Bass doesn't seem like a bass; his resonance makes him sound like a Bass-Baritone or a Baritone.
Kris Diaz - yeah I agree. He doesn’t seem to have anything below a Gb2. But I agree, he does have a “bass like” resonance
In Love Walked In, he sings a low E, thou'...
Impressive range and display from these guys, but you can definitely hear some struggle and they did not end up locking well at the last few bars. If they had done it perfectly, maybe they would have won.
Look up Lemon Squeezy Holland and click on the Saturday show of champions. The last song they sing is this, and the tag os better than they did here, it's basically perfect.
World-class singers! And nice-looking guys: But would look much nicer without those scruffy-beaver beards! A Good Barber-Shop Quartet--two of whom need to go to a Good Barber!
