In today's video I am bringing you a bunch of different basketball drills for power forwards and centers.
My hope is that you take these drills and actually apply them in your next workout.
Of course there are plenty of things you can do as a post player, but some of the most important ones are highlighted in today's video.
For example, bigmen need to consistently be working on their hook shots as this is one of the main ways that they score inside and although hook shots are normally a difficult shot as a post player you should be able to shoot a high percentage with this shot.
So I hope all the power forwards and centers out there like this video and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
#WeDedicated,
Augie Johnston

This is really helpful my coach doesn't care about post players. He only does guard drills with us which is the most annoying thing ever because tall people like me are bad at those drills. But then be just says were bad players, when really he's just a bad coach. I am going to change teams because I can't take it any more. Thanks for this video
Ok a quick edit in 2021
I ended up giving up on basketball because of him about a year ago now and haven’t played since. And I am a teenage girl in Ireland, Basketball is not taking as seriously and our players are not usually as tall.
Soooo true my team has 4 tall players (including me) and the coach doesnt do post man drill and people think theyre bad but its the coach. I practice more than they do so im ok at it but i need to practice these on my own time since the coach doesnt teach it
Yeah....and Albert Einstein once said we are all geniuses but if we judge anyone fish by it's ability to climb a tree it will believe it is stupid...😆😆😛
I feel ya I'm a 6'1 powerr forward for my intramural and I had to go to videos for me
Your coach's line of thinking is that bigs that handle/move like guards are difficult to defend or, in the long-term if you don't grow anymore, that you'll end up a guard without guard skills.
Having said that, most of Augie's drills can be easily translated to big guard or post specific, and all you have to do is change the point of attack from the perimeter to the lane. This applies to most drills that coaches run.
basically your coach is seeing you as a guard. That is great. pratice what you're taught. Imagine yourself as a 7 foot guard.
hey I'm a freshman and this is my first year of playing basketball these videos help me out so much thx and keep making great videos
Are you good now ?
yeah are you good?
U decent bro?

Simple and on point. Gonna try it out right the way on my next training. Thanks!!!!!
Great video bud. I wish they had videos like this back when I was growing up in the 80's.
Thank you for this. Nobody seems to care about post player drills! But now I can work on my game

thank u very much Baller Boot Camp
Good lessons Coach 👍
Good drills Augie
Great drill!!
Thanks coach!
Great video!
is it possible you could make a video on reading your defender(s) in the post? that would be great
Bren Neufeld Usually when you are in the post you are being heavily guarded so when you have your back facing your opponent lean back on them and feel where they are at to choose what move you should do.
Mohamed Hatem okay
Thats impossible unless they are based on one main post move or on 1 hand
That's great. Awesome
Great vid augie!
thank you
thanks for this man🤝
great tips!
Thank you! thank you! thank you!!!
Helpful af since I'm forever going up 1v1 against my friend who has about 4 inches on me and has dummie long arms.
lol, yeah that's tough. Chances are you're quicker than him so use that to your advantage.
I love this video
Thanks coach
Nice coach 💪👊🏀
Thank you so much. :)
Thank you very much coach for uploading this because I always play center (even though I'm used to play guard) 'cos my teammates are short af ...... So I hope my teammates will grow hahaha.
Flat out best post workout video that I have seen very easy to reteach, great 👍

🔥🔥🔥🔥
Who is the greatest post player of all time?
Shaquille O'Neal
Baller Boot Camp thank you so much I'm a huge player but have not been able to find any post drills to practice with. Btw the best big man of all time is between Kareem Shaquille and Wilt. Probably wilt
Depends on your definition of a post player. Are we talking about purely back to the basket, or just scorer in general?
Samson, Rattelsdorf Independents
Baller Boot Camp lebron
I'm a Sg looking to be able to do each position
Only 5'9" but I don't really know a lot of people that can defend the post at all, usually dust taller guys, faders are really essential and they don't take long to develop.
can i do it like 4 sets 20-25 reps?
Yo guys,I'm 17 going on 18,my height is 5'6 and if i hit the gym,do you think that i could still grow?Like for a few inches?
And if i hit the gym what do you suggest that i should do to help me grow?
It's hard to deal with certain situations where no one knows there role except playing like a guard when they are 2-4 inches taller than me. Undersize, Forward takes so much.
you
Kevin Garnett all day😍🏀🔥
My shot form is different and it hard to do a 2 motion shooting, so if I wanted to fade do I gotta change my shit form
2:40 i have to do it thousand times and it always makes pain in my neck. ( sorry for my bad English) What can I do to avoid it? Because we have two center and if my neck is hurt there is only one left.
Same dude
I like to play as a powe forward but I'm not all that tall. I'm just pretty average is that ok?
If your big and strong than yeah obviously
Primer comentario !!!!!!!!!!
bravo
2nd
yo guys im 6'0 flat and im only 14 years old am i tall? or average height? and what is the maximum height that i can reach
jsfgrc x are u on crack ur obviously tall
Mj Gould oh lmao i was confused lol
Yeah that's tall. Not crazy tall, but that's a good size.
Baller Boot Camp oh okay! btw thanks for all the post moves videos man! i improved alot since i discovered this channel :)
I'd say you're taller than average. My cousin is 13 years old and is 6ft tall, and he is easily one of the tallest players in his basketball competition
Coach can explain to me what is the difference between ball handling and ball control?Another one is what is conditioning drills
人老 ball control is a part of ball handling.. conditioning is working on ur endurance n stamina
Carlitos Mario thanks for reply
人老 ok.
4:10 6:00
I'm 12 years old and I play rec league and I'm 5'3"(the tallest on my team) but I dont want to play center. I always played guard ion want to tell him I just wanna play center b/c imma look stupid and I'm not that good at being a center so dont know what to do or just face reality
Hi coach im 6,9ft help me i like ur video
My team just lost by one point in a final match, I’ve cried my eyes out, and now here I am, already planning training sessions smh
I’m only 6’ tall but the rest of my team is like 5’4” to 5’8”
Who else is a guard and wants to have skills in all situations

I smoke some weed before I play that always helps my game out helps me focus on passing cuz my shot aint shit when I'm high if you use this tip youll be stacking up assists in no time
