I enjoy your videos. My wife and girls got me a crossbow for Christmas and I’ll be deer hunting with it for the first time this year, so I’m a little nervous/excited.
You may know this already, but they make a bludgeon tip for bird hunting, and/or small game which work great and they have heat shrink veins that are rubber or plastic like that work much better on crossbow arrows rather than the feather style. Great hunt though enjoy your dumplings and great video.👍🏼🤩❤️
Yeah I'm hunting these in my yard. I use a cutting broadhead so they don't get over into the neighbors yard. I use the feather fletchings so I can shoot them out of another pistol crossbow I have that has a front sight. They fold down as they go through.
I like a little squirrel hunting food plot thing. I need something like that behind my house cause I only have a couple directions that are safe to shoot at.
In this video I did. That used to be how I did it...the bolts didn't seat to the string but I shot them anyway. The micro diameter shafts and parts to make proper bolts were hard to find then. Now ya can find the right size parts all over. I got'em on my websites if you're looking for parts. If nothing else that will give ya the right bolt dementions so ya can shop around.
Have you not got the bolt in the rabbit vid on here anymore? I just looked for it & couldn’t find it. Funny after I watched that one I shot a rat & ran under my shed with the bolt 😢
Mate i use those Montecs. Great broadheads. I use them in both my trad bow and my compound bow. Ive got one those reverce limb pistol bows on the way. Got it for myself for Christmas. Can you please tell me what arrow/bold you build those hunting setup out of?
I did one a month or so ago that was sponsored so I didn't have to edit out the little buggers being nailed down. You can't miss it. The thumb nail is a squirrel hanging from the arrow that pinned him.
Hey man i really like watching ur vids theyre so satisfying and kind of relaxing (especially the ones with the crossbow pistol) greetings from germany:)
Bro that first one you shot. That had to suck to be him. Lol. But my question you shooting them with a Broadhead sweet. But how do you keep them from ripping apart while skinning them?
I've never really had a problem with them tearing apart. There has been a couple over the years that came apart while I was cleaning them but that's all. I've made a couple squirrel cleaning videos if your interested, but the way I do it is the same way most other people do.
@@TheWaterSwatters I know how to clean squirrel but everybody does it a different way. I cut mine through the butt step on the tail and pulled everything off at once that way I don't get hair all over the meat. I was just wondering if they pull a part or not with you shooting them with a Broadhead. By the way I like the video keep them coming.
@@TheWaterSwatters coming from nuisance animal work and also who knows a lot about history the way they would hunt beaver is they would shoot them in the nose because then they can't swim underwater and beaver are quite active after dark

Did you dub in the wild life sounds or was there a turkey like 5 feet away from you when you shot those squirrels? Lol. I think I heard a goat, a chicken and maybe a deer too. Great video, as always.
Lol no thats real, my neighbor has all kinds of critters. Goats, turkeys, chickens, some geese, several dogs and who knows what else. It gets pretty noisy sometimes
Dude these squirrel video are amazing!!!! Also do you make your own squirrel feeder you know the one that you just put a quarter size hole though 🤣 No but for real do you actually make them your self?
I’m not sure that you didn’t just edit out shooting the chicken 😆. You put your finger to your mouth for everyone to be quiet and I was thinking maybe I made a little noise or something lol
Good grief they would put me in jail where I'm at if I made a video shooting stray cats. Strange world we live in... here a person can get in more trouble for kicking a cat than a kid.
@@TheWaterSwatters That’s terrifying honestly, those creatures would murder the whole bird population but “some” people don’t like seeing them dead because they are “cute” and fluffy.
Lol that little recurve bow is out of commission until I can remember to buy a bolt for the retainer clip. My son was shooting it the other day and it fell off.
@@TheWaterSwatters I know a guy who is selling 80# upgrade kits for your alligator bow fairly cheap from Europe. It would bring it from 60 to 80 # and give you the power bost you need. I was considering using one to build my own repeating alligator with 80 lb limb attached.
I would shoot a chicken out of the yard, throw it in a pot of gumbo and never miss a beat! I don't hunt for sport, don't care nothing about giving them a fair chance. Im there to kill so my family can eat if that don't make me a hunter than call me what you will I won't loose a bit if sleep brother.
I like squirrels....so inocent and cute...i accually had one as a pet he became my buddy he would sit on my shoulder and not even try to escape when we were outside....
Good morning. I came across your channel doing research for a pistol crossbow.
Now, I just enjoy the content. Well done. Respect the skills.
Son! You are a real squirrel assassin!
Thanks!
Hey thanks Dan! I really appreciate that!!!
I got a Montec stuck in a tree shooting at a rabbit so I took my drill and drilled some holes around it and it came out pretty easily.
That was smart! I'll keep that in mind next time. They're a little costly to be loosing in trees
I enjoy your videos. My wife and girls got me a crossbow for Christmas and I’ll be deer hunting with it for the first time this year, so I’m a little nervous/excited.
Montec is the best the steel they use is amazing and there annealing process is the best science has to offer.

Same here not really in a good spot to be slinging arrows up into the trees, got to get them down close to the ground.
Hey man are you shooting regular crossbow bolts cut down.

Yeah it's still up. Called "Rabbit vs Mini Striker Reverse Draw......."
I laughed when you said that about the neighbor's chickens🤣
That ugly sucker chased one of my squirrels off 😂
Omg
I just got me mine how long are the arrows your using for deer ? Was the trigger magazine assembly all you needed to Install
The bolts I use to deer hunt with are 14 inches. Not sure about your other question...the Striker Bows I shot the deer with were factory.
What is the difference between the mini striker (regular version) and the ballista bat? I’m considering getting one and they look exactly the same
There is no difference, they're the same bow branded differently.

They were some gold tip bolts I used to hunt with out of my full size crossbow. I just cut them down and double fletched them instead of three.
Do you think that little bow is worth the money? Tempted to get myself one, sure looks like fun
They're a lot of fun but probably not worth the money. They're one of those novelty bows and that's expensive.
@@TheWaterSwatters good to know, i appreciate the response
You got a recipe for those dumplings?
For sure got a video up with the recipe called Grandma's Squirrel & Dumplings
How them squirrel dumpling look
As good as they ever did. I got a video up on how we make them if you're interested.
I'm gonna get me one of those, over here they are FMA Supersonic rev. It's an unbelievable pistol you've proven time and again 🙏
I like it!
Keep putting bait up against the trees !!! It’s more satisfying to see the arrow perfectly nail and hold the squirrel to the tree

Good shot ,by the way asking Cook squirrel is best food?
How many yards can you accurately shoot that? I'd love to see a 5 shot grouping at 100 yards. 🙂
Not a chance at 100 yards...20 is about as far as I'd shoot at a critter.
Where can I buy?

They make an arrowhead that works like a harpoon or whatever and you can sharpen the blades and still be able to pull the beaver in

I like that crossbow. I used to use a Crossman 760. Then 22.
I'm still a fan of a .22!
@The Water Swatters Me too. More deer been taken with 22's than any other caliber in Michigan. At least it was when I left in 1990.
