About 25 years ago a man came past me on a trail in state land on mountain bike, shot another 1/4 mile in. Hour later he had deer on bike pushing it,Smart. I had a ladder stand on wheels that I rolled mine out on. Aircraft grade aluminum 3,6' sections one with top and side wheels, also used to cross ditches and creeks. Would carry hanging out trunk.

Nice shot. We have put many a deer in the trunk of a car in all the years we hunted. We used to joke when buying a new car, how many deer we could fit in the trunk. When I get mine, it will be going in the back of my 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander.

I can't say exactly I haven't shot these over a chronograph. If I had to guess I would say around 200-225fps with a 100 grain broadhead. I know I've shot two deer with this bolt out of this bow and it gave me a clean pass through on both of 'em.

Great video! Neat little crossbow! I've used a Coldsteel Cheapshot 130 recurve crossbow with some arrows I custom built with 100 grain 2 blade Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts. Nasty little self cocking crossbow that also gets the job done.
Not if you sharpen them I use a stay sharp jig. Straight razor sharp.... and let me tell ya they bleed. Shot placement is a factor but none the less they bleed.
@TheWaterSwatters I've had success with them, just not the results I wanted. I prefer Muzzy Trocars or 125gr Swhackers. If they work for you, keep at it brotha! I like your videos, keep them coming.
You are a patient man. I'd struggle to give her 15 minutes before I tore off all over the woods. How far was she from your stand? Any indication that she was on her feet for long? Great video, as always. Mama will be happy for awhile.
She went about 150 yards maybe 175. No I think she ran untill she fell over dead. I didn't even find any place where she stopped and stood. Yeah I shot another one this morning with the reverse limb bow, my wife's good now lol!
I'm sure it would shoot that far if ya can hold it steady, it would have a lot of drop you would need to compensate for. I wouldn't take a shot on an animal that far.
15 yards is about the longest shot I've made with a pistol crossbow. This shot may have been a little further, maybe 17-18 yards. I'll have to go back out there and step it off.

Nothing clean about killing. The law doesn't allow me to use a gun but for 2 deer we need 6 to carry us through the year. Inside 15 yards that small bow is as effective as any other archery equipment ive used.

I can't argue shot placement that wasn't my best shot but I'm human even though I take my time and aim I don't always hit where I want to. As far as self defense I prefer a firearm but I understand not everyone in the world has this option. It does run a close second although it's not near as fast. It also doesn't have the kinetic energy of a bullet so it won't have that instant stopping power.

I guess I'm just an old grandpa but I don't like to see anything suffer. The last time I hunted I hunted with a 3030 in brush witch my shots were instant kills or I didn't take the shot but then again I wasn't hunting for survival at that point I've been considering getting a crossbow pistol for self-defense however the last one I had from a flea market was like 25 bucks and had no knock down power at all it wouldn't even penetrate a bolt into a phone book so I was just trying to make sure that before I bought a crossbow pistol that they had improved them since the 1990s

I used to like to soak them overnight in everclear to tenderize the meat the baste them in Bulls-Eye barbecue sauce while they slow cooked in a smoker over ether pecan or walnut wood. Hickory was always a close third.

When I was 18 I used to use a 79 mustang hatchback for deer hunting. Had some corn spill in back floor board and I swear it started growing!....lol
