- Seeing a Porsche pull the wheels up is not something we see a lot of, which is why Fred was so giddy about the car after every pass. While the wheelies are incredibly badass, we don’t can’t overlook how consistent this car is after so little track time (the guys over at AIM Performance are really onto something it seems). This Porsche marks a turning point for this event as 2021 is the first year where GTR World Cup, is no longer a GTR exclusive event! Enter the DCT class, which opens the lanes to a new demographic of racers to a well established event they’d likely be attending regardless, but this expansion has made room for extra excitement!

Bro sometimes these dudes asking the questions just ask the same thing with different wording or ask weird questions. Plus, I'm sure not everyone who's at the track wants to be on camera. They were nice and respectful and didn't elaborate too much with their answers. Big whoop lol.

Eddie Bello was doing this back in 1999 when import racing was just getting national recognition. I think he was running low 9's back then. Eddie would always pack the stands when he made a pass because they new it was going to be spectacular! Carrying the front wheels to mid track. However, the AIM house car is VERY impressive! They are definitely getting the job done in both the suspension and power department!
He did it against buschur and eclipse at Atco.

The RUF 911 that used to cruise around on my base in Frankfurt in 89-90 and do autoX on part of the parking ramp also says otherwise.. it didn't sound like a six at all. Owner said it was kinda like a regular turbo 911 until about 100mph, then it got 'stupid' on Bahn 5 out the front gate.

The AIM guys are serious racers. That isn't even remotely their fastest car. Humble, honest guys. Don't confuse not wanting to brag with being ready to take you down for a $10k bet on a street hit.

Riding in my brothers TT 997; I always knew Porsche's had the potential to drag race, AWD or RWD. Glad their's someone willing to bring this platform to the game finally. Hope to see more soon!

I remember an event at MIR where Eddie lost third gear and still sent it shifting from 2nd to 4th. I think he was also doing the 2nd gear wheelies.

Small market, those who know, know. Not everyday you get someone walking in the door spending $100k in drag performance in a Porsche. If it had an LS swap on the other hand, you would be selling bald eagle cams left right and center. Be prepared to pony up when the invoice comes in.
maybe they feel it isn't necessary , arent happy being on camera,or dont need or want the extra eyes and publicity.its a fucking dog eat dog world and lots of sharks are always circling the waters looking to take things/ideas that they didn't spend years developing.check out bob glidden hiding his engine after a crash in nhra.....some things you dont give away

Congratulations on the quick Porsche. It's almost as quick as the top fuel Harley dragster my uncle raced 50 years ago. He typically ran 8.5 seconds at 155-160 mph. Well done!

I remember a few years ago founding car magazines from the eighties belonging to my uncle and in one of them they had an interview with a local guy (back then) whom also raced top feul bikes. The bike in the article had a supercharged 1100cc yamaha 4cylinder engine😂😂😂😂 unfortunately I can't recall any stats of the bike but I remeber there were fotos include of how the engine looked after each race and they had to put a 1 inch plate between the biker and the engine incase the supercharger exploded😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Looked like the left rear wheel was deflecting out under power causing it to pull left on launch! With more track time and they get the suspension figured out, this car is going to be a weapon!

also I can kinda confirm the gentleman in question isn't void of emotion, it's just our immediate neighbors PA & NY hate us. When we travel outside our communities there's usually a lot of stigma for the Jersey boys. Guys just tryna keep his head down and be respectful.

The AIM guys have been doing a ton of work on these cars... You should come to Jersey and check out Spoolbus and some of their other cars. Lots of 8 and 9 sec Turbos both PDK and 6spd cars

it’s still hauling, and there are 1400 hp cars that run 8.5s, but i’m sure it’s tuned down
@@coltonwilder3215 it's not the et I'm specifically looking at. It's the 160 mph trap. I've seen porsches making 800-900 that trap that. That's why I'm assuming it's turned down quite a bit.

That car has a lot more in it if he can get it lined out a little bit better, Weight on the front is gonna help but he has one hell of a launch if he can get it going straight under less wheelie and more forward momentum lol.. Them Tires seem to be hooking good. Nice!

@@DomBounty aside from the GT2s, all turbo 911s are AWD from factory. This one also seems to be AWD, since you can see the wheel start to spin aggressively once it comes off the surface, much faster than the car is going, thus a driven wheel.
@@TheSoundofSpeed The 911 992 comes with 3 engine specs: 3.0L twin turbo, 3.7L twin turbo & 4.0L NA. It has 2 layout options: Rear wheel drive & All wheel drive...
Look it up... or go to a Porsche dealer and ask them...
