@762ndTB the only sequel to a film series Denzel has ever made was Equilzer 2. He's one of those actors that prefers making new IPs and not sequel after sequel. He assessed it would take 16 seconds to kill them all, but that's only when the killing starts, so he counts (up to 9 seconds) until the action starts, then he subtracts the 9 from the final time (28 seconds), so discover he missed his target by 3 seconds (19). He would have hit it no problem if he didn't enjoy the last kill so much.

And my dad pretty much never went to the theater to see a movie more than once. So, for him to be so willing to do so for The Equalizer got me really excited. And I have to admit, I loved that for an "action" movie, the hero was very methodical and cerebral. He was a one-man army, yes, but that was only because he was *smart* about how he went about things rather than just having plot armor and going in guns blazing. It gave the events of the movie a very realistic "feel" so that it could feasibly have been something that had really happened.

The most amazing thing isnt how he killed the bad guys, but how he did count all the way to 28 seconds while fighting.

Ever been in an accident where time seemed to slow down?
Wasn't it amazing how you could see everything in perfect clarity for a split-second?
This guy can 'go there' on demand.
He said "16 seconds" as his estimate of how long the fight will last.
Closing the door several times, he is re-calibrating time.
Every punch and block was perfectly timed...to him, the fight probably felt like it lasted all day.
He checks his watch after the fight to know how much time has really passed.
He gets 'un-stuck' in time when he fights, and the watch ritual puts him back into our world.
He isn't judging his workmanship when he looks at his watch after the fight and 'does the math'.
He is genuinely surprised to see how long he was 'out there'!
Like Holmes, he uses 'muscle memory' to program his body for each encounter.
Time is the only thing that he struggles to master.

Yes time went by slow as I slid into a seemingly long hydroplane with five in the car into the car in front. I remember saying I can't believe this is happening. Who's Holmes?

i thought he closed to door over and over again because after this he locked to door and previous bangs disguised the sound.

@@DEVINdevdev Or he is OCD/autistic. A lot of people on that spectrum have those kinds of ritual behaviors.

Time has slowed down and has been precalculated in hunting situations.
It all played out in the head beforehand and then I was just following the script. And only realized I was full of adrenalin after taking out the knife.

This is why bad guy roles are so popular with actors. These scenes get a lot of replays in the RUclips world of today.

The epicness of the character of the Equalizer is grounded mostly on this scene
