Not having control and unleashing himself upon an unexpecting person beating him almost to death!!!... having to other people shot and killed right there in the room as just part of collateral damage... All that coming about in about 18 seconds!!... yet on the flip side Denzel's character is of someone truly in full control knowing his capabilities and professionalism!!!... and actually sets his watch as his actions are already precalculated and shocked the hell out of these five guys who think they've got him right where they want him!!!. .18 seconds later they're all laying dead or dying on the ground!!!.... that's a very powerful connection that most people don't see of the two main characters in this movie!!!

@@bigheadache how is that... he might have had training from other sources also over these guys. he could have kept studying even after retiring... we don't know for sure that he taught them everything he knew... but yeah they were still highly trained operatives all the same yes of course.
I loved the showdown finale in EQ 2 but I can still see how one could argue like yourself as to how they might have been a little too easily disposed of... I myself put it down to 2 things. mccall was very determined to take them out from a vengeance stand point and had really nothing to lose other than maybe the kid in the movie and at that these guys were intimidated and off- put from the word go... just the pictures scattered around all over the place of susan threw them off enough.
@@sanctuaryism fair call. In the second one he does tell Dave’s wife that he was the team leader so yeah you could be right he could be the main operator and the other blokes were just operational support and QRF. The other aspect is McCall had home ground advantage which I haven’t given credit to
Teddy was a brilliant villain!! Intelligent, strategic, cunning, vicious!!
I wonder if Teddy is still looking for Gandalf, it was my understanding that he had much desire to speak with him.
Gandalf jumped to avoid Celeborn confirmed
Tell me where is Gandalf, he owes me money.
@@Sam_Guevenne😂
I know many people love Denzel, but imo this movie is saved by Csokas. His scenes are the best.
Wtf are you talking about
Boston sand and gravel. Same exact one from the town with Ben Affleck
Same exact one I've seen every time I've driven into Boston for half a century.
Pass that everytime I go to a bruins game or Sox game. Awesome to see that in a movie.
Good memory homes
@@Nangleator22 that’s pretty cool
That's not a set. It's an actual business. I've driven past it thousands of times. Just on the north side of BeanTown under the expressway. Next to the Charles river. "Love that dirty water!. Boston you're my home!!!"
I heard Csokas in an interview on the CBC, the guy is a super chill Kiwi, it is always nice to see the real person behind a great role.
3:21 is when he's like ... oh no, this is not happening and this is going to go bad real fast.
Whew 😰 he talked his way into that beating
That walk off at the end is majestic.
This is a great scene!!... It truly shows the similarities yet extreme differences between the rolls of Denzel in this movie.... and his counterpart who clearly shows he is calculating and reserved and very professional yet with very evil intentions as far as his capabilities!!!... yet seems to draw a line right there!!_____ when it seems like out of nowhere the true inner demons of this man just lash out with such evil intent!!!
Marton Csokas , has been in so many supporting roles, fully deserves a staring role! He's just too good, to mean and probably doesn't meet the Hollywood toothpaste smile criteria?
I was surprised to spot him in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which came out the same year as this movie. Also he was in The Bourne Supremacy, LOTR, etc. He's a great supporting actor, nearly every movie he's in is good partly because of his presence. Looks a bit like Dougray Scott oddly enough.
But what if he blinks?
Bravo
I just realized he was the antagonist in Kingdom of Heaven. Great movie, and amazing performance, I honestly didnt even recognize him as he was acting out his role. This man just falls into a role and you'd never be able to tell the difference, his acting is top tier.
remember him as an elf in Lord of the Rings too?
Frank-Do me a favor and don't call him Little John
Teddy-I'm pretend I didn't hear that
The way he got PRIMAL. The noises he was making.
Marton Csokas is outstanding.
2:34 "you people" is what got his ass killed lol
That and his lack of manners.
@@Juugo211 Couldn't be blame because he just hate them.
I like Marton Csokas.
"It's not about money, it's about sending a message" The Joker
3:54 ... subtitles: [Applause] 🤣🤣🤣
Finally, for those who like to fantasize about this kind of thing, I don’t think you want to try either receiving OR EVEN GIVING ~30 punches or kicks.
THAT ish is beyond exhausting.
One of the best movie villains of all time. Dude was absolutely menacing 😮
I really wished we saw a hand to hand combat scene between McCall and Nikolai as I would’ve loved to see that
I love this movie it's awesome Denzel is always great and marton csokas is a awesome villian
Marton is so underrated...
The baseball game in the background is a nice touch to the beating scene especially the “get a doctor” part 😂
Lol 😂 Wish I could get satisfactory revenge like this
I know what you mean. I've always wished my life had better writers, or at least a better theme song.
@@russellmarra8520sucks to suck
Marton is just one of those actors that was almost born to play the bad guy.
one of the best villains in recent movie history
“Don’t easy Frank ,Shut the fuck up , You fucken Flipperhead “. 😂😂😂 I died there
Teddy hit him so hard with the knee that he even fell off too 3:47 lmfaoooooooooooooo
Hard to believe he plays an elf in Lord of The Rings too lmao
Shawn Fitzgibbon as Little John is a great actor!
Thank you very much!
@@shawnfitzgibbon1109 Shawn I’m glad you survived. We appreciate you taking a real beating to give your audience authenticity. I hope it didn’t end your acting career ,-)
I might get crap for this but I don't care, Teddy stole the show for me.
Satisfying release. The surge and then the renewed calm. Next!
Radio commentary over the beating was a nice touch. 😁
Csokas already legendary actor wow excellent job.
Me - Hey Siri. Show me an example of a satisfying beat down, please.
Siri - 3:44 here you go chief
He Beat that Guy Senseless lol 😆
Should have used galvanized square steel :(
Shit just got real when Teddy called him "Lil Jon"
Well, that escalated slowly.
The Equalizer and John Wick 1 are by far my top revenge and justice movies.
That warmed my heart
Martin Csokas was brilliant here.
Why do I love this scene so much? Something's seriously wrong with me.
I think I love it so much because This is something I would like to do to every child molester and sex predator
This wasn’t a typical, cliche Hollywood beat down. This was amazing, horrifying acting executed superbly. Nothing wrong with appreciating this.
@@Dilomight probably that and the fact that Little John was a loudmouth asshole and had it coming
3:37 the way he gives the other guy a look before shit goes down 😶
This man is a stone-cold "killing machine". This phenomenal actor who brought Teddy to life, so to speak, WAS "Teddy". This is the same actor who played Alice's dad, in the Alice in Wonderland version, with Johnny Depp playing the Mad Hatter. Stellar actor.
Whatever you do..don't call him Little John ok??
Me: he's going to call him Little John
Teddy should have asked him, “Can I call him Fryer Tuck?”
Smart move, uses the map to get a drop on him. johnny should have stood up to match this gesture.
Holy shiet, ur right. I never thought of that. Thats why Susan call Nikolai as "brilliant and fomidable."
Johnny probably didn't expect Frank to shoot his 2 bodyguards the way he did.
its mostly down to luck that that didnt go south. the bodyguards were piss poor, it wouldnt be hard to notice that one of your visitors has something behind his back that he drew, seeing one of your guests get that close to your boss, and to top it off, knowing that there was construction going on that would likely mask gunshots if the shots were limited so back up was unlikely. further, as you mentioned, the idiot didnt stand up, and didnt arm himself.
@@fukumarkzuckerburg They aren’t dumb they’re just amateurs. Frank is an FBI agent and they’re going into tense waters. He’s going to give himself the best vantage point possible in the room if stuff goes south. Secondly they wouldn’t have noticed anything since they weren’t even looking at him, they were both looking straight ahead and he was behind them. And when their boss got attacked all their attention was on him so they missed frank pulling it out
@@MOMO-436 frank pulled before any violence occurred because hes a professional and spotted the warning signs. even pulled the hammer to half cock to reduce the draw weight. as far as them not noticing because he was behind them, simple threat assessment would have fixed that. two bodyguards, two guests, one bodyguard per guest, ensure any oddball movement is addressed.
