My name is Jessie with Sharp Edges in Oklahoma.
Today I want to go over replacing your Andis Blade Drive.
What I like to do is I like to take the hinge off so that I can clean underneath and check the springs on the hinge. Make sure everything’s working good. Now, make sure to keep track of this. This is called your lock keeper, it goes underneath the hinge.
Now, I just changed the hinge and blade drive on this. I forgot to make a video, that’s why everything looks new but I thought I’d redo it to show you.
To take the blade drive off, you’re gonna need a number 1 Phillips screwdriver, it’s a small one.
So, we just go in here and take that one off. We’re gonna take this one off. Then you just pop the old blade drive off like that - don’t lose it.
Now, this is a brand new I just put it on but I will show you that when you have a brand new blade drive, you want to make sure it stretches these fins here. If not, they’re kind of stiff and they’ll be loud once you put the clipper back together.
So what you want to do then is set it down over those brass holes there. Make sure they’re seated fully on both sides. Then once again, you take your number 1 screwdriver, put the screws back in, and get it snug.
Once you get it snug, give it a quarter turn… no more than that because you don’t want to strip these out which they’ll strip out kind of easy. Do the same thing to the rest of the screws.
We’ll flip this over, take the lock keeper with that little rounded part right there facing up, set our hinge back on like that, tighten the hinge up, and you’re good to go.
