Alright anime opening aside, I think this song's a theme for the Candy timeline due to the name of the song. "Not Canon in F Major, Op. 69". The name of the song just screams Candy to me, which is the timeline that isn't meant to be regarded as canon and has a lot of strange and fanfic-y antics happening to it. (Everyone having children, Gamzee "redeeming" people, the recent April 27th reveal that everyone hates). This is how it's going to be until the Candy kids (possibly) play Sburb, or until the two timelines merge, if/when that happens.
Honestly meat seems super fan-fic-y too though. It's just less upbeat. And now with HS^2 in the state that it's in, the only legitimately good post canon content is getting to be hiveswap. And even that is surrounded by way too much shitty drama.
At the end of the song, it was as if someone had pressed the music player off. I assumed that It's Dirk on the cover and the record he is listening to is this song.
Okay but why does this song make me feel both happy and sad at the same time? It feels like we are most certainly being catapulted head on into a new era, and we are never gong back. This song is like an anime *intro* for sure, but it feels like it is the *second* intro. This song makes me think of Homestuck one, the last season, which is done and over. But with all the different timelines, it is really more of a fork in the road. Well, a fork with many pathways, what with all the fanventures Homesuck 2 has spawned. More like a broom rather than a fork, isn't it.
This either gonna be a montage of Dirk and Rose fucking with their new race genetics, or a montage of their perfect race evolving till they reach the point of playing the game, and then the next page is gonna be "A young X stands in his..."
I love this song so much! There’s a really wistful vibe to it, like it’s describing someone reflecting on how the future didn’t work out the way they hoped it would. The melody is almost like a highland jig, which reminds me of Jake a bit! Maybe Dirk is listening to this, regretting his messy unresolved feelings for Jake and wishing he hadn’t messed everything up and things could have worked out okay between them, staying together as the “canon pairing.” But at the end of the song he’s had enough introspection and clicks pause on his music player and his feelings, returning to a future far away from Jake and their friends. Dirk Strider stop shouldering the role of villain go to therapy and make amends with your ex challenge!
that's because the composer of this track is one of the ppl on the vast error music team!! he's the same guy who made the tracks Road to Recovery and Bittersweet
Maybe it's just the name, but I cant help but imagine a compilation of all sorts of different fanmade Homestuck content playing as a background video to this.
This sounds like an anime opening
holy shit it does
Like a good anime opening
Homestuck is the best anime
Karkat the main protagonists
@@johnnyaugust5015 If Homestuck ever becomes an anime
Nobuhiko Okamoto(Bakugo's VA) should voice over Karkat
WHO'S WITH ME?
I expected this to be a joke song but it sounds like 2000s rock with a hint of anime.... why is this amazing.
"Not canon"
Ok, that's actually super clever XD
F Major is associated with Calliope in the Cherubim album, so this checks out as a double entendre in the title of the song!
someone need to sing it like if homestuck was a real anime

It's the sound of a new beginning, hopeful for some change, perhaps the uncertainty finding out something you have yet to discover..
What if Dirk made this whole album and that's why it sounds so anime
I want this.... it sounds so cool. Imagine what that would look like lol
The Killers new song sounds lit.
blink 182 plus the Erased OP guitar progression vibes
That's why the guitar sounded familiar...
Someone needs to make an animated op for homestuck with this song plz
your comment here kinda inspired me to make one oops. its not animated yet but i put up the animatic cause im impatient lol
@@KrimblTheMoth oh DAMN thats you, the person who made the amazing animatic!! wait, you're going to fully animate that? That's insane, but awesome!

If this is the unoffical Homestuck opening then i nominate "Skaian Overdrive" as the ending cause good lord do both these slap.
We need some lyrics sung by Karkat for this asap.
Why Karkat tho?

The opening theme for life’s beginning in Candy Alt...
A few of Vast Error's songs are like this. Is this the fanwork coming back around to influence the parent work?
Pretty sure most of the Vast Error team is also most of the Homestuck^2 team
Yeah many people who worked with homestuck are working with vast error now and vice-versa.
Also made by the same person who did some of Vast Error’s songs.
I'm getting Vast Error Vibes for some reason

Official Homestuck anime op, incredible
this sounded so anime I had to stop playing animal crossing to check out if I was still on the right playlist
This makes me feel things I don't understand.
i was waiting for patrick stump to start singing for the whole song
