Actually, it is written Berzerk, with a "z". As for the game itself, it is really good. This gameplay makes it look easy, but you must master the bosses' patterns to proceed.

I have a headcanon where there is a way to save that first possessed man. Because his situation brought legit tears to my eyes, especially knowing that his death (Regardless of slaying or trying to help him) happened in front of his wife. :(
@@kaulis6524 Not really. It's meant to emulate the NES style but this could never exist on the NES. "Retro" games never stopped coming out. There have been pixel games since the beginning. I would consider a "retro" game something like Battlekid which can be put on an NES cartridge and played in an NES.
This compilation only shows the endings associated with boss fights. I do have all the endings compiled on another video (with the coward ending on another video I missed).

I uploaded all the endings on my channel that has a list of what I did to get it in the description. I'll try to get a video detailing what to do up in the next day or two. EDIT: Here it is: The redemption ending requires you to have done a lot of good deeds after becoming evil. I accomplished this by helping the first guy, staying with the vagabonds, destroying the holy tome, and accepting the bribe from the bandit to get the password to the first cultist base. Then murder Hans and get "The First Summoning" quest. Do NOT complete it. Complete the rest of the game doing everything good (including getting the Holy Light spell) and once you run out of quests then finish the First Summoning and become evil. If done right you'll be good enough to trigger this ending (if you can complete the Arkos garrison quests before becoming evil you're in a good spot). This also awards the achievement "Free Will Sacrifice".
Something that always bothered me about the door locking mechanism: There are 5 jewels holding the door closed, right? You have to break all 5 of them by killing all 5 of the monsters guarding their counterparts, right? ...But if even one jewel remains unbroken, the door remains locked. That means it only takes one jewel to lock the door. Why use 5? What's the point? Nobody can get in when there's just one jewel. More jewel counterparts in the world means an easier time finding them. And in most other things, if one piece of a mechanism breaks, typically that mechanism fails. So what's the deal with the 4 extraneous jewels (outside, obviously, of a gameplay explanation e.g. "it wouldn't be much fun if there was only one boss" etc)?
There's two separate answers to this that I can think of: One, the simpler answer, is that the more keys it requires to unlock a door, the harder that door is to open. No one key is the 'master' that would unlock more than it's share of the lock, so if you wanted to make sure that the door stayed closed, you'd want as many keys as possible. (Although in that instance, of course, you'd preferably want _no_ keys but game has to game). Two, the more flavorful answer, is that the five gems are specifically _not_ keys, but rather tokens of the power of the being who holds it. Each minion holds not only the stone but also dominion over a specific area, and would guard that power jealously. All the minions want to protect the door, but each has vastly different ways to accomplish that goal, and probably thinks the other minions are idiots to boot. So there's a lot of infighting and no minion would trust any of the others with their own stone, much less all five.
My theory was that each jewel-holder has access through the occult door using their jewel, as they're the only ones outside the castle that would possibly need to come and go logistically. Since the jewel isn't exactly something you can "possess" (they're like the size of him and also probably radiating some horrific evil energy) Alcedor needs to break them all to open the lock by force. As well, since it's a magic lock and not just like a deadbolt or something breaking the lock just causes the lock to fail, not like jamming it shut like a traditional lock. But I mean also gameplay-story segregation. Don't think about it, it looks cool and lets us fight more bosses
I feel like leviathan is one of the worse designed bosses in the game, every attack except for his laser is too easily avoided, and said laser starts up fast enough that if you're in the air when it starts charging, it'll hit you.
@@clownintraining5944 I'm currrently playing it, and it's good for the most part, but holy shit, there's absolutely no way someone should try classic mode on their first playthrough. Also, the final dungeon on the ultimate good path is pure BS.
Lmao so they have phases...I straight up went full contra mode Konami code...and even then with 30 lives I still got my butt kicked by the games traps cause I learned quick that the shield is OP...and traps give 0 fks.
