    TrackMateGPS with remote door unlock. Can be installed on pretty much any vehicle and only $10/month.

      Good info Jho! You are the TrackMate Pro.... Thanks for the input!

      Jho, have you had any issues with these depending on the make & model? Do they work consistently? How about running batteries low in the winter?

    • @CarSharingJho
      @CarSharingJho 2 года назад +5

      @@andrewhamilton2078 No issues with any make or models - we've installed it into a dozen cars so far. The wiring is pretty simple= The kill switch can be connected to either the starter or key immobilizer sensor to make it a simple system.
      It works consistently and the only real issue is that the app crashes sometimes, but that started with the new app update.
      It doesn't draw too much juice from the battery. I've had cars sit for about a week and no problems.

    Sometimes I just leave the door unlocked and put the lockbox in the armrest.

      Good idea. Definately a better way to do use a lockbox. Thanks for the input.

    I've been using the lockbox on my car for a year now and I have not had any problems ⚠️ 😅 but thanks for the information.

    Only problem i had with a lockbox over the window is the renter not locking it back up after their trip. Other than that its the best way. I use to do the key in the gas tank thing but alot of guest didnt like it because when they brought the car back they were nervous someone could easily take the keys and would be their fault so i definitely don’t recommend that one unless have no choice.

    • @andrewhamilton2078
      @andrewhamilton2078 Год назад

      For me only maybe 10% or less get nervous about it. When they do, I have them lock the keys in the car. But then I have to be sure to bring my spare.

    Very helpful. Can you do a video or direct me on how to screw on a lockbox onto the license plate?

    • @andrewhamilton2078
      @andrewhamilton2078 Год назад

      I do not personally do this, but other successful hosts do. Basically you 1) purchase a small sheet of aluminum maybe 1/4" thick from home depot or lowes. 2) drill 2 holes the same locations as the plate 3) Attach Behind the plate so the sheet hangs off 1 side by 2" 4) Use the 2" side to hold the Lockbox on 5) Use security screws to prevent theft.

      Yes, a little but worth the risk for me. Offered several options per each Hosts comfort level.

    Great channel and videos. Quick question, just had a guy return my beautiful Lincoln mkz with the classic minor front bumber parking block scratch. 🤦 Should I file a claim? If I don't any future damage may be denied by turo because of a pre-existing scratch... But if I do, it's such a hassle

    • @andrewhamilton2078
      @andrewhamilton2078 2 года назад +7

      This type of damage is always best to work out directly with the guest... just send them the before & after photos & say you have a guy that can fix it for a couple hundred $'s. If you want to be by the book, be sure to mark that there is damage (when you checkout) but you prefer to work directly with the guest. This legally allows you to accept money by PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App for payment.

    I had a car stolen with a lockbox - definitely not a solution. Lately I’ve been having my cars at a lot that holds the keys but it comes with a cost so I’m looking for other solutions.

      Yes, this is the worst thing about Lockboxes. It literally tells any bad people, there is a good chance there are keys to This car here. With an increase in crime & stolen cars, I want nothing to do with them.
