It's a wonderful interview madam......!
This person is a very simple person on earth.....no ego, doesn't hurt anyone.
I live in Hyderabad ,am a very big fan of srikkanth ji.
In a match at Hyderabad Gymkhana in the year 1978 he was playing moinu-dawla cricket tournament tournament he scored 128 runs before lunch....it was a real treat to watch....since I was a official scorer in that match.( very less dot balls )after that match I never missed his matches while in Hyderabad.
God bless 🙌 him always with good health & happiness.
Note: I cried the whole night when he announced his retirement from the game
Thank you sir for sharing your memories I'm from chennai now in Hyderabad , I was near to his place
After Kapil Dev , Srikanth is one of my favourite Indian cricketer.
He played T20 cricket back then! A True Legend!
Lively Person. Unassuming hard working and Straight Forward person. As a Besant Resident seen his hooks in a long ground and that has now become Rajaji Bhawan a Govt complex. Why in games I have seen him in Ashtalakshmi Temple Ratnagireeswar Temple and Ananth Padmanabha Temple. Even attended Ayyappa Pooja at Sriman VAP house near Kabaleeswara Temple early 1980s. A great role model in my life and decided and I named my son his son name Adithya. An inspiring person in life for all both youngsters and aged. God Bless him and his family Dattatreya Hare Krishna Happy Janmastami Dear Srikkanth Ji Excellent Discussion🙏🙏🙏🥀🌹🌷🙏🙏🙏
Cheeka is down to earth and quite unassuming.I umpired a match at Gandhinagar ground in which Cheeka played for Vidya Mandir. He was about 11 years old and opened the innings for his school. He played very aggressively and impressed me very much.I gave a report to TNCA stating that this boy would reach great heights if given proper coaching.TNCA did not take any action on my report.
So sweet I loved the conversation. Simple man even though he is a Cricket legend. Pranams to both of you . 🙏🏽🎉🎉👏👏🌹🌷
In Vidya Mandir, Cheeka used to sit closest to the classroom entrance holding a bat. During the mid-morning break, he would be out on the ground in 5 seconds flat - I doubt if anyone else batted during those breaks!
Thanks for making this video.
Srikanth sir, well said... "Unless you loose, you can't win" .. "you have to play on the field, fall, bleed, etc that teaches a lot"
We stayed for 5 years (1st Standard to 5th) in Royapeta Colony, Madras,.. Cricket matches in our colony play ground was the norm back then... I have super memories of this place...
Srikanth transported me to 1990s Kalakshetra road. Mami thituva mama thiruva, whole Colony wpuld bash u. Every sport had a season. I broke my permanent tooth trying to be a gymnast in Sri Sankara Sr Sec School. Great interview
Very simple and never show off.. i know him as a Mylapore boy because that's where i grew up. Cricket Cricket we knew nothing other than Cricket during holidays.
Good to hear your memories of growing up...My brother was a regular tennis player with you.
My dad is some ten years elder to him and he says he once played with both venkatraghavan and cheeka. I remember as a kid we used to goto ashtalakshmi temple in the early 80s and on the way, my dad used to point at one house and na elderly person with a veshti and white baniyan standing near the gate and he was mr. Krishnamachari, father of cheeka. Above all, when we went to his home near neelankarai I suppose on the day when we won the natwest series final against England in 2001 or 2002 (remember Mohamad kaif and yuvraj singh knocks), he gave us a cheque for upkeep of our temple. Such a lively and nice person mr. Cheeka.
He was a player well ahead of times...used to play shots when there were no field restrictions
What a cricketer in 80s.he is the father of t20 cricket. Great man
Kumar good joke😂😂😂😂
I really admire Kris Srikanth Sir for his positive nature and the way he backs Indian team is exemplary. Despite of achieving greater success, still he will be grounded and shares his unbiased views. Needs to learn a lot from him.
As a player, I would rate him higher than any Indian Openers as he only introduced the power hitting in first 15 overs. It's really a test for any opener to score runs against great WI bowling but he hit sixes so easily against those bowlers.
One of the finest cricketer at all times and a dash buckling opener for India Srikanth made a start of hitting in one day cricket. It is nice to see his nostalgic memories shared.❤❤❤
Golden memories knitted in everyone's Heart is their school days & friends.
The saying "settle before your opponent settles" while playing National cricket against Imran & co
Great player & Greatest Human being with always Positive thoughts & talks.
Loveable person.,enjoyed this interview. God bless him
Such a lively interview. Srikanth is so simple and unassuming which makes it such a pleasure to watch.
I am a huge fan of Cheeka. I was writing my entrance exam in Summer 1987 for Annamalai University Engineering in Pachaiyappa's college. Exam start was 10 AM. When i walked into the campus, about 9, I saw that Jolly Rovers was playing in the "B ground". Cheeka was fielding. I remember finishing the 3 hours exam in about 2 hours and running out (knowing that i did not want to miss his batting). Of course, he hit a century that day and the ball was flying all over the park. And was pretty down to earth to chat with fan boys like me.
He is a absolute legend, machan! Definitely the real Champion of Champions (WSC 1985).
When he burst on the scene in 1981, he'd fill stadiums. Remember him repeatedly hooking Graham Dilley's bouncers at Bangalore. For me, it was hard to tell which was nicer to watch. Dilley's smooth runup & action or Srikkanth's hooks & pulls!!! If memory serves, Srikkanth didn't even wear a helmet!
He is a batsman who showed a ball is to be hit and not defend. massive crowd puller and makes every one to keep their heart in cheek.he revolutionised batting and brought transformation to the Indian cricket. God bless him and family members.
Srikanth Sir Excellent cricketer. Superb Sir!
Funny great guy. Enjoys sports
No doubt. One of the Greatest Entertaining Criketer of India along the likes of Kapil, Vengsarkar
Kapil + Sehwag. Vengsarkar the wall of his times.
Selfless cricketer. If T20 was in his time , he would have been first SKY of India. Never bothered for personal career milestone. Rare species in the current cricketing fraternity.
The great cricketer
Srikanth sir opened for India, was a captain, was one of 83 world cup winning Indian team, was a selector forBCCI, what not.
Very blunt and open never bother not only with bat and ball . He was a very intelligent bowler
We make cycle tube cut pieces ball, that was awesome those days.
Much appreciated you both remind my early days.
Is it the cycle tube cut into pieces like rubber band and wrapped on crushed paper
Very innocent days
Golden era of those days
Srikanth means chris gayle
Of our times
Very nice memories thanks
Nice person. Very practical and jovial
I still remember having played Tennis Ball Match with you Krish (Your Team - Vidya Mandir Santhu Team) for the Karpagambal Nagar Mylapore team at Luz Church Road (a small ground (Now MAM School) near Anjaneyar Temple.
Looks like life is as same from 60’s to 90’s. After 2000 only , there was a change in pattern .
Interview could have been continued for some more time, to unfold about his rise from street cricket player to star cricketer & his present day to day activities, covering the important milestones & memories in his life
He is the First opener in world of one day Cricket to show how to Hit the ball in first 10 overs. Legend
A real true indian cricketer aftr kapil
till 80s life was pleasant and beautiful... what all cheeka said was true... we used to make bat from thenga mattais and make balls using chanal kayiru(jute)... played pambaram, kolikkai,etc...todays children life is too bad... pressure from lkg onwards....they need to study around 8 subjects...life has become too competitive...ayyo pavam intha kalathu kulainthaigal...
Nobody in India cannot not recognize him.
The name DASHING OPENER
originated from krish srikkant
Fentastic crickter
I remember playing with rubber tube ball which behaves arrigantly in new college grounds.
❤❤❤
Cheeka made highest 38 runs in final 1983
Whether Shrikkant had played, Monopoly, Meccano, Bagatelle, la Attaque, Draughts, also two board games called in Tamil as 'Kappalaattam' and 'Nariaattam',நாலு கட்டம், பத்துக்கட்டம், முக்கை, ஐக்கை ??
ശ്രീകാന്ത് 🏏 👍.
I am fan of cheeka I want to meet him but I am not able to walk where is his address
Toughest Tornedo in Cricket forever

Krish Srikkanth Best💯%
Cycle tube cut rings ball turn both ways.. @ 11.10...
Is there any difference between "frankly speaking" and "let me tell you honestly"?
Cant compare these great players with gifted talent to the present lot... tattoo flaunting bollywood mafia backed incompetent players worth only money but not in humane terms.
Nobody in India can't recognise him ????
Wish the interviewer just doesn’t keep saying “lovely” “lovely”!!! Jeez!
Didi he allow his son to do the same? His grandchildren?
Lady interviewer not fit.Often interrupts with her scratchy throat and unable to hear 13:01 Srikkanths talk.Pl don't giver her this sort of work.Spoiling the programme.
Look at his record in both forms not a great cricketer
This lady seems to act like an achiever. She is nothing which she doesn’t seems to understand. Control your laugh please. No substance in the interview
The interviewer lady has amazing sense of humour and she is the only one who got most beautiful messages from Srikanth’s heart ❤️ compare to many interviews given by Srikanth where he goes out the track with his jubilant mind. This lady is great and she tamed Srikanth to speak 🗣️ close his heart ❤️ and one of the best genuine interview by the master blaster moist our eyes 👀 and teach us a valuable lesson that childhood friends are always a treasure in our life. I hope to see more such interviews from Srikanth in composed manner rather than shouting Machan and scream with over enthusiasm. The anchor’s voice is also quite serene with power packed wisdom like Thirukaci Nambi speaking to Kanchi Varadaraja Perumal. *Ranga Ranga Ranga* ❤
Look at his record's, just hyped up, over rated cricketer
Everything is not about statistics and records rather its the impact one creates in any field. Srikkanth did that and played a big part in India's 1985 World Championship of Cricket trophy win besides playing his part in the historic 1983 World Cup win. These are thr two key events but the way he played he left a great impression on everyone especially fans as a super entertainer and was ahead of his times in terms of his swashbuckling demeanour and approach to the game. He may not be one of the greats of the team but he did make an impact as a top class entertainer who was ahead of his time. So please don’t ridicule someone’s achievements.
Something must have drawn you to watch this video, clearly the cricketer Srikanth and the popularity that comes with his name clearly got your here. His stats aren't something that one can brag about, but he was leap years ahead of time when it comes to how he batted as openers. The man yest played the ball in the so called "V", but over the heads of in fielders. It will a bit unfair to take things away from him based on the stats.
Don’t be a delusional idiot. When he was playing , the game was significantly more challenging and bowlers were incredibly difficult to play against
You can't see such a daring entertaining cricketer of our times.A dashing player giving scant respect to the fastest bowlers.
Our child hood hero Kapil and srikkanth, we were so jubilant when srikkanth hits square cut and straight drive, best thing is he treats world best bowlers like ordinory bowlers, its next to impossible those days, After Viv Richard's srikkanth were very dashing player, who needs records and stats, need impactful player, Great Kallis is having so much records but still people is not talking about him, so, records is not needed, you should be team a man..
Srikant I will meet you one day I have played one match with you in muc ground I am PC prakash Swaran kripals singhs classmate from don bosco egmore. In that match it was a tie match 50 overs match I scored 48 runs run out and took 4 wickets.
