Some people don’t understand how much work it is that you guys do. I’ve seen so many crappy installs. This stuff takes time. And for you guys to do this day in and day out? God bless. You guys do great work. 👍🏻
The factory sub is huge. Most factory subs are wimpy little things. No doubt that the aftermarket sub you're installing will be a lot better, but still, I wasn't expecting that.
Those tiny Bose rich bass subwoofers in my Dad’s Murano are just weak sauce. My Sony Mobile ES speakers have slightly more bass even though there is no subwoofer yet. A high quality 12 inch SQ sub that is around 1500 to 2000 watts rms in a sealed box will make my system very well balanced system.

I initially upgraded my factory head unit (monsoon system) to a Kenwood DMX1037s and noticed that though the sound quality may have improved, the sound volume doesn’t appear to be as loud or as bass as it use to be. So I went ahead and upgraded all the door speakers and subwoofer except for the twitters (Rockford Fosgate punch) . And again, found that though sound quality improved the volume seems to be low compared to original stock setup less bass. So my next plan is to upgrade the amp but still use the factory wires and harness. I’m not looking to have it crazy loud and still want to retain the factory look (so no subwoofer box). I drive a 2006 hummer h3 with the factory monsoon system. Thx in advance.

Fantastic job! On everything...the install, the filming, the editing, the explanations. I'm sure it took a lot more work to go in depth like you did, but it didn't go unnoticed. I've watched every episode of Install Diaries, 1-140, and they are all great, but it would be cool to see more videos like this periodically. Do you even rear fill, bro? lol
Fernando OR Dean - my buddy has a 2002 Escalade, and when he bought it in 2004 he had somebody wire up a few screens and some power wire very sloppy. So, he is putting in a new head unit which I'm sure can operate much more without accessories . The wiring is a mess and there's one harness that I believe goes to inside screens, amongst other components that were once in the car and this harness sits tot he right of the portion where there is a direct feed of wires that look as if they were directly hooked up to the previous head unit without a removable harness . Amongst the old equipment he has two audiovox wireless transmitters and an additional two boxes that are also audio control that a few RCA's plugged into. Behind the dash there's a green line output converter that is a sven4 (he had an upgraded eclipse deck installed in 2004 why the additional line output converter). I live in Washington state or I might just bring the vehicle in, ha ha . However , I informed him he might not need the output converter or the screen RCA "boxes" (silver boxes around 1.5"X3" is what they look like). Additionally on the outside of these silver boxes are small square black boxes with wires protruding from both sides and they have a small red light on them and I'm thinking these are resistors or transistors ......lastly since the wires are a mess and not even taped together and the equipment is old I was wondering where to start . I have browsed the website for metraonline as a start for product needs but without differentiating which head unit he is going with , I do not know the harness needed. I know without seeing it is seemingly mumbo jumbo. So if my guy were to *start over" then here is what he needs to connect to:
-antenna
-11 stock speakers in the speaker placements
- possible stock amp??? AND a four channel and mono sub amp
- 2 screens , one in each headrest
And any deck unit placement needs for a snug but proper fit. And finally
- any wiring that if restarting might he need.
Like I said it's a mess back there.just terrible. I guess I'm asking as far as products and website for ordering and learning do you recommend and what gear would be needed to configure the above mentioned in the most DIY type of way. I know it takes time to respond to people and I appreciate everything and the knowledge you both share. If you don't mind, if not on here my email is anw67aw@gmail.com ....and my name is Aaron.

You guys are Awesome!!.. I've learned tons from you guys. I just installed all my speakers\subs and amp in my 2011 Durango. It sound great thanks to all your tips. I do have a quick question, though. While installing all the wiring, I'm short about 2-3ft on RCAs cable from where I like to permanently install my amps. Will it be ok to install RCA barrels and an extension? or will this compromise the sound quality ? Thank you guys.

So I would like to install a pair of qty pnl kick pods that would hold 6 inch alpines then a pair of 8 inch alpines in the lower qty doors. then support them with a 5 channel amp 1 for the sub 4 for the new speakers

I thought GMOS-01 was for vehicles with no amplifier. Shouldn't he have used the GMOS-04 harness? i have an 06 H3 with a Monsoon system and figuring out what stereo harness to use.
You said you something about setting the tweeters to +3 what does that mean
Hustle Humbly u can adjust the output of the tweeter pending on wher its placed some places the tweeter will be quiet so u set it at +3 on the x-over and some places it'll be too loud because ther too close to ur ears so u would set to -3 that way it'll stay balanced out correctly so the tweeters wont be too brite

what plug do I need for a 2006 Silverado with bose amplifier.. I want to bypass the bose amp without having to run all new wires, if I have to T in the tweets upfront that's no problem.. I'm adding a pioneer 8604.. I would like to get it ordered right away.. is it the metra 70-2054? will that work in my situation? I seen u make a bypass harness but don't remember which video.. BHA2002/3?

If the factory speakers are 4 ohms, the factory amp should be able to handle it.

Do you mean the fuse near your battery terminal? Your amplifier will already come with fuses on board carefully chosen by the manufacturer. If you add those ratings up (usually listed in the manual as well) and use the closest matching fuse you can find coming off your battery you can't go wrong.
Alternatively if you buy a wiring kit from a reputable manufacturer with wire gauge recommended for your amplifier their provided fuse will also be sufficient. They match their fuses to the length and gauge of power wires in the kit.
