- This version is coming from Nick's home recording and is a rare alternate take of Place To Be played in fingerstyle. Its played half a step above Pink Moon's version, so I decided to match this version's key and pitch reference (Roughly A 450Hz, like on pink moon)
Nick's music is spreading so far and wide that it will never be forgotten.
Lovely cover! Happy new year 🥳🎸🎼
It's the most beautiful version of this wonderful song. Thank you for bringing happiness and calmness into our home!
Sounds brilliant!
Love to see new Nick Drake covers still coming out :)
This is beyond brilliant. I've always loved but never learned this fingerstyle version, and you absolutely nailed it, even all the subtle intricacies that can be so easy to miss. Beautifully done.
Thanks for the kind words. Yes I indeed strive to really reproduce Nick's music as close as possible to the original. In that regard, the picking pattern should be almost exactly the same as in his home recording version. The strumming version is coming up today.
I think thats my favourite Nick Drake song and i really like the fingerpicked version. Nicely done

Great job bro.
Nice cover buddy.
Sounds super nice! What tuning did you use for this, CGCFGE?
Thanks, yes it's the correct tuning
Bravo, very nice version.
You play an LS16?
It sounds so balanced.
Thanks. Yes it's a Yamaha LS16 that I've owned for about 20 Years now. It's a Fantastic guitar that's aged very well over the years
Any chance you tabbed this out? It's very accurate.
No I've worked it out by ear to make is as accurate as possible, but I don't have any tab, sorry.
Nicely done , you put some work to this and it came out beautifully.
Sounds like an open tuning.
Could it a a version of
open C?
