Great point about you being a storyteller. Your reviews are next level depth, no green/red lights or whittling down a shoe to a numeric score. I appreciate it! Merry Christmas and cheers to 2025
Huge congratulations, Chris, on the collaboration with Nike. I hope more brands will approach you in the future. Your design talks and product roadmap talk is what got me subscribed and usually puts your videos on top of my RUclips feed. Super excited to what’s next! Do you plan to cover about Nike trail at some point? Maybe a special episode?
Definitely will be covering more Nike trail in 2025. That was always the plan as I’m really excited about the Kiger 10 and Wildhorse 10… I already covered the Peg Trail 5… and have covered the Ultrafly. The biggest issue is that I only have steep technical terrain here in Taiwan…. Great for a shoe like the Kiger… but not so much for the Zegama or Ultrafly. Lots more ahead I appreciate the support. 🤙🏻
Congratulations on the Nike collaboration and the number of views on your channel! You truly deserve even more recognition for your creativity and hard work. Wishing you continued success and even more milestones ahead. Big fan from Kuwait!
That means a lot to hear. I definitely didn’t set out to be “unique” on YT, but I did see a niche (in a niche) that I could make my own by staying honest to my editorial vision. Thank you for being here and the support. 🤙🏻
Congratulations on the success. I'd say it's only a matter of time before this channel blows up, the amount of detail, insights and clarity you put in your videos are second to none and no doubt have helped runners in their buying decisions (including myself). I just wish there were longer format videos as I just enjoy you yap about shoes (respectfully).
One of my "channel projects" for 2025 is working on the clarity of my yapping, presentation, editing and editorial voice. Everything is a slow evolution. You'll be happy to know I have a 30min "year in review" video coming this weekend, maybe the longest video I've done in sometime. I doubt I'll ever go full Yowana, but I am going to play with some longer formats in 2025, in addition to what I already do. Not sure theyw ill be the norm...but they will appear time to time.
Congrats on the great year. Re Nike.... what are you doing to insure that you can be honest and objective when it comes to Nike shoes? Given the value of the relationship, how will you deal with negatives about their shoes or their brand? Having been on both sides of these type of arrangements in my career, the tension between Honesty and company pressure is real. Having access is enticing, but it can (and doesn't always have to) pressure compromise. One of the things that I value most about your channel is that you aren't afraid of expressing your truth. Wishing you a Happy Holidays and New Year.
Well... editorial integrity is a must for me. Honesty in reviews and calling it like I see it CLEARLY. In my long professional career I learned the value of integrity and when building this channel I've put that at the center of everything I do. I set out on this project/channel as a SOLO creator. I don't have a team anyone to answer to but myself, by design. As a professional, I had enough that in my consulting, I don't want it here. How will I insure integrity? Honesty. I've already communicated my intentions to them, as I do all brands I work with. I'll call it like I see it and if something is bad, I'm going to call it out just the same for the good. That is what I've done to date here and will continue to do. With Nike, I'm not an employee. I'm a friend of the brand that cares about what they are doing... I want them to "get it right" and i want to be part of that next chapter for them to do that. Obviously... this is all great to say but it will only matter how I handle it over time. if you ever see me drifting from the above statement, with Nike or any other channel partner, call me out on it. Keep my honest. I expect this community to do that was well.
@@SagasuRunning I'm not at all surprised (based on the integrity you've always demonstrated on your channel) that that is your position and I applaud you for it. I've seen nothing in the time I've followed you that would lead me to believe otherwise. I hope you didn't take my comment to imply otherwise, that was far from my intention. Unfortunately, I've seen too many individuals in my career slide down a slippery slope of compromise to preserve position and access. It's a very human response. Your position as stated above is what I'd expect, but the devil is always exposed in the 51/49 calls. Awareness is an advantage. I wish you continued success as you take these next steps. Thanks so much for the thoughtfulness you bring to your channel.
I didn’t take your comment badly at all. It was a clear question. It’s one I want to be very transparent on. Again, so much of this is learning as I go. I have a long professional career to look back on as reference… but I’m forging my own path ahead. As you see my content and SR evolve… keep me honest if you see it diverging in anyway.
I'm not the biggest fan of reviewers collabing with brands but this one just makes sense, it would never appear to me that nike would be treated any better than it already is because how even do that and of all the people to get more access and insight because of a deeper relationship you are the one I would trust the most to make use of that knowledge and communicate it in a compelling and informative manner, looking forward to 2025!
I'm glad you see it that way. I have no issue with working with brands but for me it requires two main things; 1). full disclosures on the reviewer of the relationship 2). Editorial objectivity of the reviewer above all. If something is good, say it, if something is bad, also say it. Hopefully I've proven my editorial objectivity with the brands I have already worked with... but in 2025 I'll be focused on it daily.
Congrats! Subscriber count really understates this category of content in general, and even more so for your channel (many of our videos I go back and watch multiple times). You view count and hours shows that. Looking forward to more great stuff from this channel. Merry Christmas!
You deserve the thanks for putting in all the hard work it takes to produce the insightful content. I’ve learned a lot from you this year. Thank you so much! Honestly Nike can really use your help and analysis to identify what works and what doesn’t and more importantly why. Stay true my friend. Sponsorship has benefits as well as pitfalls. Congratulations on 2024! You had a great year.
Congratulations Chris! The success and Nike partnership is well deserved. I subscribed to you when you had less than 400 subscribers. As a Nike Pegasus fan with over 9 pairs in just the past decade, it finally felt like I could nerd-out on the technology and strategy with someone else. Thanks for your amazing storytelling and looking forward to your continued success!
Congrats for all 2024 accomplishments. I really like this channel for exactly story telling about shoes, which it’s give a total different meaning on the experience while running
Huge congrats Chris. Been subbed when you were under 3k and have always appreciated your content and insight in a sea of ‘shoetubers’. You deserve all the great things coming your way. Cheers to a great 2025.
Gongrats, really well deserved and look forward to the content. Can't believe the stats, amazing thay you still take the time to comment and answer questions in the comments Well done
The community and conversation here is one of the things I value the most about the channel. I'll keep replying to all I can for as long as I can. It is very important to me. 🤙🏻
Hi Chris. Love your content. I want you to please let the viewers know on how pronounced the arch is on the zoom fly 6 when your review is up on the 1st. I used to run in the vaporfly 1, and then I bought the alpha fly 2. I couldn’t run even 5kms on the alphaflys because the arch on the left shoe was very pronounced. I am a flat footer and this is a big concern for me when I make a purchase decision. None of the shoe reviewers pay any attention to this. Please mention this in your review. It will help us FLAT FOOTERS a lot
I have a high arch and never have noticed any of the arch issues in any Nike VF, AF or in the ZF6. I have a few more runs to do in them so I'll pay attention to that area and see what I can notice. I can't promise alot, but I'll mention my observations in the video.
Congratulations on a great year foe the channel and your collab with Nike! I’m one of the new subscribers this year and I can say this channel offers a perspective on this shoe like no other, honest and insightful reviews and storytelling. Merry Christmas and wish you all the best for the future.
Merry Christmas! That's quite the gift that Santa brought, and an amazing way to close the year! Can we look forward to technical interviews about Nike's new running shoes and how they came to be? I am willing to bet there's a question about the transition from the Peg 40 to the Peg 41 somewhere on your list.😉
Work on all of that. One of the first questions I asked was about the Peg 41 midsole changes from leaks to production…. That one got a chuckle and a smile as in there is a story there. It might take some time but I’ll get there. 🤙🏻
Well deserved absolutely crushed it chris. ❤ you have always been an amazing story teller. Being a part of your journey feels personal. I have learnt so much about running other than just shoes. Waiting for great stuff coming out. Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
Congratulations! Many blessings for all the work you've put in. I saw you retired your 1st pair of pegasus plus in strava after ~100 miles, mine is at 20 miles, what do you think about the durability? Considering the outsole is still good, how many miles do you think I can get with it considering its the "rubberized" ZoomX (primarily for Rep workouts)? Sorry if it's unrelated to the video
I retired them, because I want to save them. My Volt Peg41s and first pair of Plus are going into my little Nike archive, so I want them in reasonable shape. Once I have a gap in my publishing schedule I'll post a "Pegasus durability" video (maybe Feb) as I've been very impressed with the durability of both, especially the P41. As far as the rubberized ZoomX. My first pair with 100mi (160km) on them feel no different than the new pair I started running on recently. If anything the pair with 100mi on them feel better as they flex with more foot more naturally. I would have no concerns getting 250+ (maybe much more) out of a pair. I'll see how far the second pair I have go into 2025. I plan on pushing them as far as they will go.
So, has Nike now made you officially the evangelist of the church of the holy Pegasus? Congrats on a great year, well deserved, and all the best for 2025!
Not looking for any giveaways. But can you tell us when embargo is up for vomero Plus and premium? Trying to plan my 2025 purchases and I need info on these shoes!
Ah was just thinking the other day that unlike most other brands these days, Nike seem to have done very little with RUclipsrs direct of late. I did wonder if this part explains the perception (true or otherwise) that other brands are just getting ahead as are getting better exposure. That all said I feel sure this link up will be somewhat different to some flexing on how much "stuff" been sent "for review" this week and one run later here is said "review".
They are being very deliberate it seems with their next steps. I get the sense of A LOT of change happening internally, much more than we see from the outside. Luckily, our visions for the the possibilities of RUclips seem to align. It is definitely early days but i look forward to developing the relationship. Another thing I'm working on in 2025 is switching up my review formats. Most shoes will get many more kms on them prior to review. Race shoes will get a little less than trainers...but both will get a lot of pounding before I talk about them.
@@SagasuRunning good to hear! I feel I want to try and do similar although sometimes I need more time in some shoes than others to form a view. 3 runs in NB5 so far for instance but all been on rather hilly and part muddy terrain so not really what designed for and 1 run in Adios 9 albeit lot flatter terrain but the latter especially is a shoe I feel not intended for "plodding" so what real value is there in taking a shoe like that out for your regular easy/steady run and then rushing out a few thoughts. That said after a few initial steps, I found myself thinking this needs to "go" and my effort level rose accordingly and remained so! Felt like "old times" of doing sessions in Adios 1 and Streaks before that. Be almost like taking the pins out of spikes and taking them for a few easy road miles :) It can be a "game" though especially with new "hype" shoes when viewers are wanting to get some idea of a shoe. These days that "game" is tied up with channels to review shoe months before they released. As such might as well offer something a bit more "informed" as you do of course.
Interesting observations on the A9… I’m so curious… I may be taking them out today for a short run to get a sense of them before I really get into them next week. It’s a shoe I think will see less kms on it for review, given it is clearly a race shoe, not a “plodder” like the NB5. Though on the NB5, I found the more I pushed it in areas I wouldn’t expect it to do well in, the more I enjoyed it. It is the shoe that made me realize I need to be more diligent in my testing and push shoes outside of their “range”. I’m curious what that will mean for the A9.
@@SagasuRunning yeah was discussing with Andy FOD Runner that most shoes will "go" if you are good enough and want to. He was doing 5:30 pace for a bit in NB5 and most of a run at least 6:00 pace. Even "sprinting" I need my "best" shoes for anywhere close LOL. Adios 9 "feels" fast but the reality these days I am probably "really" faster in likes of ZF6 even 100g more for me as am no longer used to flats and part they don't really "help" like plated shoes can do. I did think however this is a shoe I "need" sometime in to sort of actually re learn how to run like this as when put on spikes it is similar and even though of course very "minimal" I did manage an hour in the Adios 9 and patted myself on back for making it past that benchmark of 10K in shoes that have "low" stack like the Peg 41/Plus :)
Agree on this… most (not all) shoes will “go” if you work hard enough. It’s definitely interesting testing the ZF6 and A9 together…. My feet and legs don’t know what to think. 🤔
Your knowledge and depth of your reviews are fantastic. Although I’m not a fan of Nike shoes, I find their mid soles too narrow and drops too high, I value your other brand reviews.
I appreciate that. I'll still be covering other brands. If anything I'll be covering more brands and shoes in 2025, so hopefully there will be something in there that you do like. Thank you for being here and the support. 🤙🏻
Congratulations Chris! I follow you since your first year at around 2000 subscribers or less. It was obvious since the start that you had a clear vision, you had primed yourself before coming out and you did stick to a plan. And you have a method in your work anyway. This may be the only channel I discovered in its very early days, which is fascinating in itself. Good to see you grow, hope you will continue to cover other brands the way you used to do! EDIT: I just noticed you post the number of subscribers at the time of upload!! Mega!! I should be then 1500 or less I remember Superblast as a subscriber.
I’ll definitely be covering other brands. Nothing will change on the channel other than I’ll likely be covering more shoes, from Nike and other brands. It’s going to come down to prioritizing time at this point. I do r have time to run in everything I might want to now. I know you’ve been here for a long time. Definitely a name I recognize. I always appreciate the support. 🤙🏻

🤙🏻
@ Exciting times for sure! The way it happened before our eyes is quite inspiring!
