Wow, that Chicago hack was EXTREMELY accurate to the real world's Chicago, just like in real life, if you make one wrong step, your game instantly crashes and forces you to reset In actuality the Chicago hack looked really sick, the final lucid-dream area with the piano keys looked dope, and was definitely a key part to my enjoyment of it
The Chicago Demo made me realize how much I really wanted more hacks to make you play as one of the enemy species Something about how Robert moves as Mario just feels so... natural. It's weird how well it works.
Quite a lot to unpack in a medium-length video. First up, that was a great opener Matt, first the ghosthunting and now this? You spoil us. The first hack had a great area and everything about the Simplehole gag was really good, it wasn't the most musical based but the setting of a music hall lent itself well to a cool area to move around in and I liked the dialogue. MCR: Chicago is simply a wonderful hack, other than an insane looking playable character, a really interesting premise and great aesthetics, I love the crime-filled streets of Chicago as an area to schmoove in, having the stars be found indoors while you schmoove to all of the mini-areas from the overworld sets it apart from some other city levels we've seen where you run around and sometimes scale buildings. Also, Simple's narration was great, whenever that voice comes out I fall in love with the video. The third hack had some great drum-aesthetics, cool harps and a sick-ass final boss, plus some solid bumping music and a great sense of humor in its dialogue. Great stuff, all around, I'm loving all of these hacks.

@@eddie1437 well, while maybe some of it is true, simple himself has said that the words of encouragement have helped him at some points, and that he reads them every once in a while and makes him feel nice. While I cannot guarantee that it'll be like that forever, I do like to think that he reads them and has a small laugh whenever he sees them still.
There was something disturbingly familiar about the letter before me. The writing was all pretty curves. "Dear Mario. Please come to the castle; I have baked a cake for you. Yours truly, Princess Toadstool -Peach." The truth was a burning red and blue crack through my brain. A star counter hanging in the air, glimpsed out of the corner of my eye. Endless repetition of the act of jumping, pause buffering to perform my LBJs. The paranoid feeling of being led into Gay Baby Jail. I was in a Mario romhack. Funny as hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of.
Okay the Chicago hack looks really good, so I'm gonna skip out on this video until the game comes out next month so I don't spoil anything for myself. Looking forward to the hack, and this video!

My first experience with a piano was SM64. Until I was 27, I believed that pianos were monsters or animals from fantasy settings and not instruments made by humanity.
Gotta love that meandering from the film noir era. It's not everyday you hear such existential anatomies in this pandemic planet. If you don't own the suffering around you, the suffering owns you. That's just the life commenters live.

As someone from Chicago, can confirm that sounds like a cop from here.
But he's not a cop, he is "a police" (8:01)
True
As someone who is also from Chicago i agree
Also as someone from Chcago, I can confirm that there is an endless void in most directions (10:59)
the best part of this video is simple implying that chicago is seperate from earth
No one wants to be associated with Chicago, it's like the Dark RP server of Illinois crossbred with Florida.
I love when Matt or Nolen get creative when they can like in the shirt ad, always adds some spice to the videos

mario proceeds to "fire" the bully by killing him
