*Me, sitting here with my fx sabers I got off wish for 50 bucks..* whats cheap is mine, and whats mine is cheap😂
The cross hilt looks so heavy compared to the bane. Also the quality of finish of the bane just looks sleeker.
I agree bro
Haven’t bought from Saberforge yet but I’m definitely looking into it. I’ve mostly picked up Ultrasabers Lightsaber hilts in the past.
Shipping is dogshit but when I got mine it was everything I could’ve ever wanted and more
@Bode Miller totally. But when you do expect the shipping and customer to be horrid.
@Bode Miller don’t. There are better alternatives for less money. They are not worth the hassle or the price
Look at Crimson Dawn, Pach store, or LGT sabers
This. For Base-Lit sabers at least. The only way anyone should buy from Ultrasabers EVER is if you like the hilt designs and can't find better alternatives. The downside is the hilts are NOT durable and the electronics aren't in a chassis so they can break very easily.
Don't.
Fantastic comparison man, I've been looking between the sites and reviews without a clear comparison, helps out a lot thanks
Thanks for the video! It was really helpful to get your perspective. The thing that really concerns me about Ultrasabers is that the availability info on their website is literally false. My saber (and those of many others from the forums) took *20 weeks* to arrive because it was out of stock, and to this day, the listing has said "In stock, 3-4 weeks lead time."
According to their forums, this is normal procedure right now, and many of their listings are flat out misleading advertising. Across their entire website there is not a single mention of any delays, COVID-related or otherwise. A new customer would have no way of knowing that 3-4 weeks is actually 3-4 *months* (that customer was me).
This year has been hard for us all, and especially tough for businesses like custom saber makers. Even so, that does *not* entitle Ultrasabers to lie to their customers. I've wanted so badly to support them and be a fan for them, but between the shady marketing and questionable business practices, I just can't justify it anymore.
fantastic vid dude. good to see someone go into full details on everything
great in depth comparison of the two i was juggling to purchase from, thank you watched the whole video love the comparison examples I sub for that reasons alone. also your collection behind you is dope and that bane saber was an awesome build in general so you sold me. great video!
Great comparison video Semz keep these coming my guy
Personally I have heard nothing but bad things about Ultrasabers, but I’m glad that you like them
They have an F on the better business bureau website with reviews complaining they get bad reviews deleted and banned on multiple site and one employee called in a Chinese sweatshop in the heart of Texas. Trash company.
Everyone complains about Ultra Sabers, but I just bought from them a few days ago and my saber came in perfect shape within 4 days of ordering. Do what you want with the information, but they must be improving based on some comments I have found. The quality is decent and I have no complaints. Yes you can go more expensive, but I think the saber I got was a good balance of cost, appearance, and overall quality. I have no real complaints.
yeah i’ve been noticing that ultra sabers quality has been going down, and i’ve been wanting more neopixel lightsabers, but the my ultra sabers lightsabers worked for what i wanted.
I’ve been waiting for my saber from saberforge for like 19 weeks now 😎
Same
Have you got it yet?
Rip
Update: it came with the charger port broken and I’m not even bothering to have it sent back 😬
@@nosure-kd7dj Oh dang that stinks you had to wait forever and the thing is broken oof
Archon V2 is my favorite Ultrasabers hilt as well. I swing that one around more than my other hilts.
Lots of people hate ultrasabers I can see why. The only thing I hate about Saberforge is the delivery time. Your Saberforge light Saber is really cool
Thanks!
Honestly their delivery times are the same as pretty much all other delivery times for other fully custom saber companies. If the delivery times are too much for you. Cross reference the price of the saber if you bought it through them and find their products on places like Ebay,OfferUp,Facebook Marketplace, etc. Usually faster delivery but sometimes very scalped prices. I saw a saberforge saber (can't remember which) but it was $30 cheaper technically but also had $30 shipping. Hit or miss.
Got mine in a month but it was an Eco saber. Great product and comes installed with a Proffie board
Saberforge basically killed them 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👌
Yea well ultra saber is a stunt saber brand
@@harrymoon8154 how!? They claim to have “The best soundboard on the market” yet it hasn’t been updated since 2013. Technology has improved SO much over 8 years. They are a complete bogus awful company and should never be trusted. SF or S3 is the way to go!
@@nate5thegreat5 facts, plus Ultrasabers hilts are bulky asf.
@@kennyking7445 yessir
Thank you for this. I'm in the market for a Tano style saber. The saber forge looks so much better physically, than the ultra sabers. I didn't realize they weren't using neopixel blades at ultra sabers. Saber forge is getting my money.
Great vid Semz
I personally prefer Saberforge, from many reasons, but the biggest reason is, they looks and sounds so good !
if you wouldn't mind me asking, what saber would you recommend for someone that has never owned one like the ones saberforge has? I was looking at their website and even though the price if fairly high for a starter they all looked awesome
@@ahren5510 Another not-yet-but-to-be-soon-owner here, i've heard more good stuff about the Ultrasabers because they are pretty much made to be swung around, if you want it as a collector's item you should probably turn to saberforge
@@svenneskaviar607 saberforge has more sturdy blades. they have threaded tips and with the Ultrasabers the tips can fall off and sometimes the blade cracks as well. never seen that happen with the SF blade. the best thing to do is to buy the US hilt and the SF blade(but the saberforge hilts are pretty sturdy as well)
@@svenneskaviar607 I've actually never heard a good thing about US. SF sabers are literally built to be dueled with. Plus, they're much slimmer and comfortable to hold, and the cheapest designs still look top notch.
@@atticusjackson2273 Actually, i did some homework and found out that ultrasabers make their blades out of polycarbonate and not plastic (Polycarbonate is the same material as Riot Shields are made of) like Saberforge. plus saberforge charge you an extra $100 for no reason really.
I'm not gonna deny that Ultrasabers has their issues (inconsistencies with replying to emails and keeping their website updated for stock) but I myself haven't had any problems with them. Placed my first ever order on June 1 for 5 sabers plus 4 giveaway sabers, and they shipped 6 weeks later. I thought that was a pretty fair wait time for 9 lightsabers; I took their 3-4 week estimated processing time with a grain of salt since the pandemic was in full swing - I figured if Amazon Prime couldn't guarantee 1-2 day shipping for anything at that time, I was probably in for a wait for these sabers, but since they were Christmas gifts, I wasn't worried about it. I'm currently waiting on one more saber (Christmas gift) that I ordered back in late June but it's been held up by material shortages, but I do get updates from them; the longest I've had to wait for an email reply is 2 and a half days. I'll agree that Saberforge's sabers are of different, better quality, and I do plan on looking into Saberforge after Christmas, but there are several hilts that Ultrasabers offers that I want as well.
Bottom line, shop where you want and enjoy what you buy, and let other people do the same.
Thx for the review just ordered my saber from saber forge. Now the wait 😤
I am so glad I found you a RUclips channel I've never owned a Star wars lightsaber before. I was about to purchase $250 worth of mystery lot lightsabers but I backed out of that. I will go with saberforge instead in the Future. Thanks 👍
I love this channel! Btw do you play battlefront cos I’d love to see you do like a funny moments series
My first lightsaber will be from Ultrasabers, I really do like simplistic designs anyways as most lightsabers are pretty simplistic like that. But if I would get more they'd probably be from Saberforge. I cannot wait though, I'm super excited for my first lightsaber
Ultrasabers: We have this 100 buck saber! Look, it's a pipe with a LED!
Saberforge Fallen Order Eco: $130
U sure?
@@notsuoh7233 'Ello, just checked. A Saberforge Eco saber on the lowest possible configuration costs $130.
@@seraphym0 I thought the lowest possible configuration is initiate which only comes with the hilt
@@notsuoh7233 That's true for the normal saber designs, but the Eco lineup works a bit differently. The Eco sabers only come in 2 configurations: Eco ($130, 3 sound fonts, single blade colour) and Proffie ($300, Proffie board, neopixel). This lineup definitely is, by all means of the word, Eco.
@@seraphym0 Have you bought any of Saberforge's eco sabers? because I've been wanting one for years and am finally able to, but I've started do drift away from SaberForge, because of the bad reviews. So I just wanna know if you actually got one and what do you think about it? :)
These videos really help
Nice Video dude
I have a couple of ultrasabre grab bag ones for cosplay, they are OK for what I got them for, the sabreforge one looks awesome, going to look into one from them. Cheers for the revue
I’ve been looking for this
I am really looking forward to when you get your sabertrio lightsaber. i love sabertrio so yeah. i dont know what to say just i hope you will love your saber and do a full review of it
I will do, thank you!
Hi Semz!
Thanks a lot for the videos. They have a really good vibe, and most important, really helpful.
QQ:
I was wondering. Saberforge has multiple options of electronics (Champion, Veteran, Hero, etc). How do you go on with buying things from them? Do you buy ONE saber that is the Hero + NeoPixel option, and then you just buy hilts with Champion option, and swap the blade?
Or do you always go for the Hero option with each saber?
i just got my first ultra saber and i love it but i got my blade sentinal yellow and now after a few days of having it the blade looks orange instead of yellow. any one else this happened to whos ordered a yellow blade ?
Awesome saucesome you should start a gaming channel or record you playing games on your main channel 👍🏾
Definitely agree that saberforge has the more exotic hilts but I do think ultrasabers has their edge, they do have good cheap hilts but where I personally found they shine is the spear/pike. Their extension is longer and thicker for the same price as saberforge, if you got 2 from ultrasabers you'd have 30 extra inches and with saber forge you need 3 to do that. It might be kind of specific but I think it always depends on what saber you want. I'm definitely going to get a saber from saberforge someday as a nicer showpiece but for some thing I want to be able to actually use, ultrasabers takes the cake. I think neither company beats the other out over all seeing as they each have their pros and cons but the customer should look at both and decide which would better fit.
Wow, I don't know why it took me so long to finally watch this, but excellent video man! I've heard and seen some pretty bad things about Saberforge that are nearly the same as what I've heard and seen about UltraSabers, but this video is spot-on. I'm glad you didn't have those same issues, and are enjoying your SF saber, that thing is gorgeous. Quality, price/quality ratio, customer service, craftsmanship, everything... it's all Saberforge. I personally won't buy either company's installed hilts, but what you said is exactly right.
Thanks for the shoutout as well!
Big love 🤘
I’m really starting to think of buying a saber forge saber and starting to like Dark Rey’s lightsaber, from TROS, with the swing mechanism. I just love the design. This would be my first proper lightsaber.
That saber is absolutely sik
Isn’t Rey now sidious since she struck him down like he said would happen and she did strike him down
@@jaycobwilliams1494 yeah I thought that too
just found your channel. super helpful. also do you collect 1/6th scale figures?
Time to do a new one of these
Gears video. Looking forward to more comparisons of the VV & ST
If i buy a warrior saber from saberforge is the lighting better or worse than than a stunt saber from ultrasabers if they’re both green?
Have had the adamant from saberforge in green for several years. Built well and still works great... But took months to arrive. I just ordered an ultra saber fallen hilt with silver blade... Will only be able to compare when in hand. Saberforge adamant speaker has gotten fuzzy and sound isn't as clear as I think it's actually so loud that at full volume it blew it out maybe slightly...
very helpful :D
I really want to buy a saber but I really dont know who I should get one from. I want something cheap but i also want it to look good. Should i go to saberforge or ultrasabers for my first one?
Wich company would be better to buy sabers for dueling from
You can buy from either to be honest. Ultrasabers cheaper
Heck even companies that are "re-sellers" of production line sabers (Darkwolf custom sabers,LGTStore, and several other custom builders similar have smooth swing. Other saber builders like Pach Store,89sabers,etc have the newer smooth swing technology as well. Ultrasabers needs to get cracking on the catch up or they will be completely sunk before long.
Really appreciate this in depth honest review. I was about to order Emperors hand from Ultrasabers but will most certainly take a look at Saberforge now before making an order. Great job, thank you!!
Thanks for watching
If im looking for a not too expensive lightsaber with good sound and maybe color change(optional) what model should i pick?
If you’re looking for very inexpensive then I did post a very recent video of a $50 lightsaber that can change colour
@@SemzNerd thanks a lot!!!
3 month wait for my first Lightsaber ever. Can't wait bro
From what company
@@lilbootycheekboi5584 saberforge went with the bane mk2 champion edition, and a red blade
@@pinheadlarry7335 thanks 🙏🏽
@@lilbootycheekboi5584 ay nw. You thinking of buying one from saberforge?
Guys we need to get this guy more subs like wtf!
This rabbit hole I'm going down.... all I wanted is a decent full contact sparing stunt saber. A curved hilt, green colored, sound optional. Ironic first one a red toy non sound plastic. In Qui Gon style hilt... still have it, one day, I'll pay homage to it.
I have gotten ultrasabers sabers before my first one took 4 weeks and my second one like 8 days I was a little confused but wasn’t complaining but I want to order from saberforge but don’t want to wait 10 months for my saber but I dunno I am getting two new lightsaber one is from YDD and the second one from Crimson Dawn I can’t wait
I appreciate the straight forward given it to me like I’m a racer looking to buy WHAT IS BEST FOR ME . Not killing my interest in one for the other just an honest where’s the quality. What is my money going to really get me. And anybody that reference the Tiger King note you’ve got a fan like subscribe. And note people one of them his a horrible resale value not even half.
If you wanna go full-contact dueling what company would you go with?
Btw you can get the hilts in other colors it just cost a lil extra
My one problem with saberforge (I'm looking on the site alone, i don't own either) is that the Grand Master on Saberforge doesn't have the etchings
Saberforge has an Eco series. They're the best design with 3 sound fonts and a bright as hell blade. They definitely take the cake on price for what you get
Just went to Sabreforge and 70-80% of their designs are "Out-Of-Stock" what's the point?
I've never bought Saberforge because waiting more than 2-4 months for a saber is ridiculous. But Ultrasabers can sometimes take that long too, though that only happened to me once.
Saberforge certainly has them beat on features though.
But ya know what company sells sabers with loads of features (including smooth swing, rgb color changing and neopixel), ships out within a week of ordering (sometimes same or next day) and costs less than half of either Ultrasabers or Saberforge?
Crimson Dawn sabers. Highly recommend you all check them out
19:26 im not even a star wars fan but i like light sabers, wait does that make me a fan? fk i gotta start watching the movies on disney plus
Well I’m happy I just got a saberforge saber and I didn’t do much research on it lol but I got it for my costume but I guess that isn’t gonna happen since everyone says it takes for ever to come in
Imo saberforge actually provides the same quality for basically the same prices, under their eco and apprentice categories. Where saberforge really shines is their elite and upwards quality hilts, which are more expensive but not much more, and certainly not much considering the quality and customization jump
I was planning on getting my first saber from sabertrio which ive heard really good things about but not even 20 minutes after they re-opened at 9 this morning they went right back out of stock the only ones left are a few $500 options that no one really wanted
And ive heard very terrible things about ultrasabers so im hoping saberforge is good
I like my Bane MK I because it reminds me of “ Aliens “ movie
I’ve been researching Saberforge sabers as I’m looking into purchasing one at some point. May I ask, what do you recommend as a first saber for a beginner saber collector from Saberforge? There are a few models that I’m interested in but for the most part I’m still unsure.
Hey bro, I’ve bought a couple and to be honest, for your first I don’t recommend anything too pointy like the bane, looks awesome but it’s just not as comfortable. You’re gonna want something in the simpler side and definitely comfortable if you want to be swinging it around. From my own collection I can heavily recommend something like the consular, I believe that they came out with a more recent version. If you’re looking to get something from the films, the Avenger is top notch, or something like the redeemed.
@@luca.alonso Thanks! I’ve actually been looking into shoto sabers and apprentice sabers, I like their simplicity and I prefer more customization and originality. I’m not super interested in film replicas, if anything I like the design of the Pheonix, I understand it’s an inspired saber rather than a replica.
Bella_ also_here definitely a nice looking saber :) the best advice I can give you is to try and picture what it feels like to hold, cause there’s nothing worse than realising that it sucks to hold right after it’s arrived
Bella_ also_here for instance the aniken style saber absolutely sucks to hold 😂😂 iconic but painful
@@luca.alonso Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate that you were willing to offer some guidance. It definitely helped. Have a good day!
You can't duel with neopixels, and the brightness comes from the LED's light not being distributed
I would guess that the Ultrasabers made more noise when you shook them because they've been used to duel, especially the ones you've had for a few years. I just got two Ultrasabers, and right out of the box, no shake noise whatsoever. However, a few friends of mine have had Ultrasabers for years, and they have seen a lot of duels. Those sabers didn't make much shake noise initially, but after years of service, they make some noise when shaken. That's my guess anyway.
Okay, so watching this I see Saberforge top tear > Ultrasabers top tier. I'm curious if you plan to compare the mid tiers (like tri-cree + obsidion 3 against veteran or champion tiers in saberforge or Hero vs emerald/diamond) and then compare brightness, durability, etc. it seems unbalanced to test newest tech top tier against (as you said) 5+ year old tech. just curious if you plan to get any of Saberforge lesser tiers to give a more apples to apples comparison. otherwise thanks for the run down. I did not realize Saberforge became so advanced in the last two years or so. are there any concerns for dualing with those new blades? I'd be worried about killing the LED's.
thanks for this vid
Where did you get the shirt !?
Honestly can’t remember 😂
From my experience, UltraSabers has a small variety of but a great selection of staff sabers which is what I am best with
Guys I can't swish the color of the led and my blade is not purple like the saber from mace its more than a fucking pig please help me
Would you recommend saberforge?
I remember visiting saberforge to look for something and noticing nothing was in stock, that's why I never went back to it lmao
I’ve heard mixed things from ultrasabers
You should do an art sabers veview
how long did your SF saber take to ship
9 weeks
They take a bit but for the quality I think it's worth it
Will it be longer for New York?
When I wanted to buy a lightsaber, I looked up “custom lightsabers” and saberforge and ultrasabers came up. I checked out ultrasabers first and they seemed very basic. And looking back, I don’t think I would ever have gotten any of their products. They claim to have “the best electronics for the cheesesteak price”, yet I spent four hundred MAKING my own ACTUAL GRAFLEX REPLICA ESB With proffie board, smooth swing, and neopixel....that says something about ultrasabers. Meanwhile, for around five to six hundred, you can get just a basic sound in a non replica hilt, with a basic tricolor LED on ultrasabers
Yikes smooth swing with hero is something I missed out cause I went with champion
Did you get yours already? Because they recently changed the Champion soundboard, Champion now has smoothswing
@@LSB44446 no I haven't got it yet, but if this is true I am kinda scared I might not get smooth swing. I'm happy if it takes a month longer but includes smooth swing tbh

That aside, I was going to buy the Flamberge from US. After watching your video, I looked into Saberforge's Axe & am going for that instead of the Flamberge. Thanks for showing me that there are better options!
That neopixel blade is like a real lightsaber compared to US
I'm buying ultrasaber because I just care if its got the color I want and it turns on
How long do ultrasabers take to ship? I just ordered one yesterday.
@William Ruisinger Did you just order yours just recently or have you had it before quarantine?
@William Ruisinger Okay thank you for telling me I'm just nervous it could take possibly month's to get it.
@William Ruisinger Yeah I would of loved like a neo pixel saber with many fonts but it gets so expensive.
@William Ruisinger Thats awesome! I have another question I'm not sure if you have it on your saber but. On the lightsaber I ordered i didn't put flash on clash on, Do I still have the lockup ability for it and the clash sound?
I need to get me so many more sabers lol
Ultrasabers sounds like a can of spray paint when you shake them
I ordered a dominicide 8 months ago from ultrasabers one month ago they emailed me to tell me it was out of stock, the did offer a lightsaber of the same value (plus more because I got my domincide with a discount) so they’re not terrible just slow, terribly slow.
Ordered my dominicide in February and it just shipped this week.
id much rather order from saberforge but i specifically want cal kestis' saber, anakins saber, or revans saber
I bought Cals lightsaber from Rebel Sabers for $300, really sturdy feeling and solid quality.
I like Saberforge more than ultrasabers. And that's saying a LOT because I've never even bought a saber from Saberforge 😂
Also, 15:55, my Ultrasabers hilt does that too. I HATE IT.
I honestly never really liked ultrasabers except for their blades, but their new v5 lineup is so so much better. The quality has completely changed, you now get metal buttons without an up charge and the new silver with gold and black with silver accents look very nice. Saber flow is just so much more expensive and I do not care for the blades with lights in it. They just aren’t as balanced and almost heavy. Ultrasabers are better if you are actually going to fight with them because of the lightness and durability of the blade and less things to snag your hand on. Saberflow are better to hang on the wall and look at.
I don't have a preferred company as I'm trying to figure out where to get my first lightsaber lol
@Lane Waldon You should check out Dark Wolf Sabers, if you haven’t already. I just bought my first lightsaber from them after researching multiple companies for a while. It said it would take about 15-20 days before shipping, but they shipped it out within a couple of days and I received it about a week after that. I absolutely love my saber. The quality, the feel, the smooth swing, the sounds and the brightness are all amazing.
Honestly if you compare similar hilt and board you'll get a better product from saberforge for a similar price.
I know saberforge has an Etsy that apparently ships much better and has amaizng customer service, do you have an opinion on this?
Id personally only use there site as you can’t customise much on Etsy
Let me tell you about saberforge: ordered ASP parts, consistently takes 22 weeks to ship something that they say should be 15 weeks. Order an emitter on Sept 28. Wait 22 weeks, email them, and get a reply about not having a machinist and to keep waiting. 33 weeks later... I email SF and ask them wtf, its been 33 weeks, where's my stuff? She then responds almost two weeks later and tells me it didn't pass QC and that they don't have any in stock to replace it. So then I ask when approximately they will be restocking them and they send me some generic bullshit about restocking every two weeks. mmmhmmm. sure. They've been out of stock on those parts since September. Just tell me you're discontinuing ASP parts so I can chuck this crap up on ebay because they've mentally broke me.
