You’re 100% correct, I just found a spreadsheet on Reddit documenting when the development of every FF game started and wow, FF7 Remake and FFXVI started at the exact same time and that floored me - I’ll have to see if I can find it and make a video on it, it was fascinating to me! It's interesting to hear that about the idea for the opening sequence. That's pretty much the only part of the game I like. After that it gets really slow and dull for me and I usually end up putting it down. Also didn't like the dark fantasy Final Fantasy take. Didn't gel with what traditional FF was to me. But it's still loved by many.
I printed the whole play online guide and still have it. My parents weren't happy with the amount of ink I was using 😂
