These TOP 5 FINAL FANTASY 9 FACTS were things I DIDN'T KNOW at all until I started reading about the DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME. Hironobu Sakaguchi's notes were the biggest find for me personally, I mean him being the CREATOR OF FINAL FANTASY and all. But reading about the stories from when SQUARE ENIX moved their offices to Hawaii was amazing for a lot of reasons. My favorite story is about when the other team members still in Japan saw that the Hawaii team had tans and berated them for not working hard enough on FINAL FANTASY 9, all while FINAL FANTASY 8 was still being finished up! YOSHINORI KITASE also has a lot of fun stories from the development of this game that you'll just have to look up and read yourself!
The other huge thing for me was learning about how the MOVIE THE DARK CRYSTAL had a massive influence on the visuals for FINAL FANTASY IX, which was the last FF game for the SONY PLAYSTATION. If you go back and watch it and then play through the game, you can really see it! Sometimes even the atmosphere of the game matches up! I wonder what JIM HENSON would think about the entire FINAL FANTASY SERIES as a whole!

Squaresoft was busy around the turn of the millennium. EGM said in an issue "we knew Final Fantasy 9 was coming, we knew FF10 was coming eventually, Final Fantasy 11 blew us away!" or something like that. They really wanted to get all the PS1 and PS2 games done back then!

You’re 100% correct, I just found a spreadsheet on Reddit documenting when the development of every FF game started and wow, FF7 Remake and FFXVI started at the exact same time and that floored me - I’ll have to see if I can find it and make a video on it, it was fascinating to me!
