This is exactly the same as every store. Except Card Rush and Clove have so much hype because of their aggressive marketing and their location. You can go to much smaller card stores that offer a lot more money and you basically don’t wait more than 30 mins until you get a price. People literally wasting a whole day waiting to get a price on their cards. That’s insane lol.
Very helpful video. To me if you already live outside Japan I would skip all the hassle and just sell online. Sometimes you may get a bit less, but if the demand is truly there then the buyers will buy from a seller with good reputation/feedback.
Question. You said you have to leave your cards with them and then come back later after they have evaluated them. Isn't there a risk of them swapping your cards?
hi, i really enjoy informative videos like this. Im going to japan next week and i have a lot of playmats, do you know if these stores would buy them ?
This is really informative! I have been thinking of selling it personally in Japan once my stack increased in value. And this is just what I need to know
Hey, nice video. But would like a video about taxes and cards aswell. What is allowed? Example, if you bring 5m yen worth of cards into the country, can you take 5m yen of cards out aswell, like an exchange? too bad you need a japanese ID.
Talking about selling at Japan, how about buying directly from Japan stores? Do u know, do they make partnerships or something like that with foreigners?
i doubt they would at this point~ they are so big and they have so much business they are unlikely to "share" profit with others. the store hv like tons of cash.
$20K (US). That's pretty good. A lot of people are going to have a tough time moving that money if they are going to sell cards, significantly, if you don’t know people that can help.
Hey CP, got two questions for you. 1) Do you have to find someone who is a Japanese citizen (ie have a Japanese ID card with residency) or could they be someone who has a right to stay let's say a student with a valid visa and 2) if I were to sell raw cards, I heard they will have you take them all out of there sleeves and top loaders, does that still apply for the high value cards, say for the cards over 500k yen. Thanks heaps!
@@CollectPokemon Im in New Zealand and have a couple of boxes of best of xy and one master battle set. thinking of flying to Tokyo to sell as the market here can't afford such items....do you think its possible without knowing any japanese?
A lingering question in my mind now is whether PSA 10 or BGS 10 has better value for resale in Japan. I am sure you won't have problem selling black labels assuming the card is in demand. Thanks
Im heading to Japan soon and had the idea that UK exclusive "on the ball" cards which are pretty cheap here might be more sought after as they were never released elsewhere? Do you think that would be the case, would shops accept these as trade in (or any English card for that matter!) Thanks for the video
yes but they won t offer market price but discounted price, + they take a full picture of your passport and you get a receipt (if you do large amount you need to have a strategy to get your yen in euros as you cannot leave japan with cash)

Any recommendations for smaller card stores?

Can you share some of these smaller card stores anywhere in tokyo or osaka ?

if your card is raw, it's possible. That's why we trust the big store only
The stores are not some guy with a backpack ducking an ddiving, they are legitimate businesses. They dont steal your cards,

not sure either, I don't think they will unless it's the competition ones

Did you convert currency from yen to usd before you leave Japan? How?

@@CollectPokemon You probably couldn't cross the border with that money.. did you buy something with that money? Expensive sealed product?

if they are more of bulk single yes they will give you a trade and you help them sort them.
Student visa also ok
Very helpful thank you 🫰🏻
Do they buy back sealed products? LIke the Battle Master Set?
They do but, will check it in more details, any damage to the wrap can lower the buy back price significantly

I will make a video explaining these sort of exclusive cards
Nice video! We need more of these!
Do they only accept Japanese cards? Do they not accept English cards?
They normally don’t. I’d be surprised if any of them do. Maybe try card secret.
Tehy accept all cards which have value.
Hi! I'm French and I'd like to sell some cards at card rush when I'll come back to Japan, can I do it if I give my hotel or maybe with WhatsApp ?

Does Clove buy from people with foreign ID?
Some times, last time I was at clove they wouldn’t sell me sealed stuff, but I could buy singles. They were really debating when it came to buying tho
@@UrAveragePlayer0 I guess it probably depends on the cards. I got a couple ponchos and what not I’ll try
depends on the cards. Is it high value, rare and soughtafter? Then they would find a way to buy :)
Damn 3M yen, that's 3 salaries wtf
Some big $$ deals 🔥
Wow, they pay good…can’t believe you got over 7k usd for a psa 10 hyper rare charizard 😮
it went up 100k since that video =.=
