  • Okay okay.... I may have misunderstood the character creation section a little bit BUT I would have picked something similar regardless.
    I have never played D&D before and this is my first Baldur's Gate game however, everyone I know tells me that they love it and that I would as well SO.... a new adventure begins.... hope you enjoy!
    Ep. 1: Character creation (LMAOOO, I tried), Mind Flayers and getting to the Ravaged Beach

    Bg3 is one of the most rewarding experiences in gaming ever if you really take time to explore and understand all the systems and possibilities this game presents. It's a bit of a steep learning curve, but it's worth it.

      Oh yeah for sure. I’m excited to do exactly that to experience everything I can with it!

    You did miss out on most of character creation, but you will find a character who comes to your camp and talking to him gets you a chance to respec your class/skills. And you can change your appearance to a degree using the magic mirror in your camp, so not a disaster. 😅
    Do remember that in combat you can use the Dash action to close distance to enemies, but note that this means you can't attack them, unless you have a bonus action attack. And most enemies have attacks of opportunity, so if you move away from them, they can hit you. You also have an attack of opportunity if enemies try to run from you. 👍
    The learning curve is steep, but you're doing pretty good.

      Also.. the arrow on your character portrait means you can level your characters up. Might help with the brains. 👍

    You did well for a new player. I'm kinda cheating & watching BG3 streamers (lol) while I wait for my own game to be sent to me, which may be a few months away. I've learned where the level up's are, where to find shovels to dig up dirt piles for chests, & a bit of how the fighting works. Having to play for your entire team is a bit of a challenge if you are unfamiliar with the various classes/skills, but you'll pick it up over time - & you can spend time off-camera studying the setups for everyone if needed (& to plan fights with big bosses). This game really follows D&D5e rules very closely, which makes it easier for those of us familiar with them (I'm a bit of a beginner, altho I've played TT a few times).
    But, above all - have fun!

    I've come to find that the difficulty settings are close to this... Explorer = normal(base)... Balanced = hard... and Tactician = fuck your dice rolls lol

      @Zennvin  10 месяцев назад +2

      Well heck LMAO. But I’ll still run with Balanced for sure!!

      @vegasviking86 that’s one of the big things I was worried about with BG3 going into blind if there was any MAJOR mess up right up front. Ty for the encouragement! 🥳

      Explorer is technically the easy setting. You get twice hp and twice starting proficiency bonus. Balanced is scary, but as a dnd player, low levels are really easy to die at, (which is probs why there are restoration pods; lvl 1 is so awful). Explorer is the easy setting, balanced is normal, tact is hard and honour is just masochism. Lmao

    Yeah you kinda skipped through the character creator xD but thats ok. You said you are fine with high elf so thats ok. I dont think you can change ya background (i can be wrong, but everything else you can respec later. Your appearance and stats along with change ya class. (Need to find a specific npc)
