Well, I'm sure the next time the druids have a band of refugees show up at their door, they'll just turn them away instead of letting them in. The grove is basically a religious commune for Worshippers of Sylvanus. And you just stole the consecrated idol of their god (and remember, in this setting, gods are *very* real) to impress a child. Like, as far as the druids know? it was the refugees. You've pretty much lent credence to the shadow druids. I mean, Kagha is a shadow druid plant- playing on the other druids fears of the goblin warband just a stones throw away to try and radicalize them. Before she was involved the grove willingly opened it's doors to help these people- fed and watered them off of their own limited supplies (They are druids. They live in the middle of nowhere by choice. They don't farm and there are no corner stores. They survive entirely on hunting and foraging and even with druid powers it's a lot of work.)
Astarion having a default Charisma of only 10 feels like the biggest joke of the entire game. Like, the _one_ characters whose background story as a vampire spawn involves is him having spent the past 170 years being basically prostituted by Cazador his vampire master, being forced to rely on seduction and manipulation to survive, the guy that even various NPCs and even the Narrator remark about how beautiful he is canonically... But instead of the game devs making him a Bard, he's the DEX-based Rogue (I mean, he's a darn good Rogue, but) with the potential Arcane Trickster subclass (which needs INT as base attribute). When I played an Origin run as Astarion, I respecced him slightly and lowered his CON from 15 to 14 and his WIS from 13 to 12 and used that to upgrade his CHA to 12. Astarion being a Rogue is the anomaly here... because when did he learn _that?_ If he was a magistrate while alive -- although the writers chucked the rest of his tentative background story from the earliest stages of the games back in 2020 into the dumpster and changed "corrupt" into "tragic", which gave him more depth, so maybe him claiming at first meeting that he's a magistrate in Baldur's Gate is him serving you a double-lie instead of just a single lie (as he hasn't been whatever profession or status he had while alive for the past nearly 200 years).

The funniest parts of Shen's streams of BG3 was how incredibly lucky she was with the rolls when they didnt matter, as opposed to when she really needed the high rolls and watching her and Chat lose it simultaneously. not including the Out of pocket crap they did in Act 1...
Like that's just D&D in a nutshell. My party leads off the evening with a nat 20 on a check to make sure the front door's secured fully when they have to leave a relic inside the house but leave for a debutante ball they're attending, but then flub six different checks during the party that would have made their plot move forward. This happened THIS MONTH.
@hinasakukimi he gets there. At the beginning he's a bit.. violent, but you can talk him down from things and voice your opinions. I have a softer Astarion currently
I’ve playing with my wife and I always take him because rogues are so handy to have around, and this has led to her constantly calling him my vampire boyfriend. I mean, she’s not wrong.
Idk because shen has shown on stream that she likes her men pathetic and women that find HER pathetic so i think that if she lets astarion go through with the ritual she'll lose some interest in him lol
My first character in BG3 is a Bronze Dragonborn Paladin, who has a jaw like an anvil and shoulders like a barn door. I imagine Astarion standing there with a look of horror on his face the entire time as he watches the Barbarian smash open locks, smash doors and smash traps that Astarion as a Rogue could've easily lockpicked or safely disabled (although Rogues now need a trap disabling toolkit to do that, which are much harder to randomly find than lockpicks so you're better off buying a few from a vendor, boo). Just click on Astarion's character portrait, un-group the characters and let Astarion scout a room full of traps and hope he wins his perception checks Then just right-click on a trap and select "disable". Astarion has Lockpicking and Stealing (Slight of Hand) Expertise for a reason, he gets a double bonus plus his high DEX bonus for a +7 even at level 1!

Ah yes another story of Shenpai putting her son in dangerous situations. That will scar Voxer for life. But this time Voxer has a rage problem. What could go wrong? 😂
So, in my deranged hyperfixation, I’ve created a Rocky Horror fancast of the Baldur’s Gate 3 companions. Astarion is obviously Frank. Gale and Shadowheart are Brad and Janet because they’re the most basic human looking of the companions-I know Shadowheart’s only half human, but we work with what we have. Minthara is Riff Raff because she’s the most edgy, murdery companion and Riff Raff commits the most murders. Lae’zel is Magenta because she pairs well with Minthara with the whole “my species is superior schtick, and we had to cast the only actual alien in the group as one of the aliens. For Rocky, the choice was between Halsin and Karlach because they’re both big and muscular, and I decided Halsin should play that role, since I have Astarion as Frank and Shadowheart as Janet, and since Astarion and Shadowheart will be willing to share a romanced player character with Halsin but not each other, and Frank and Janet are both attracted to Rocky but Frank doesn’t want to share him, it fits with the characters’ dynamic. Karlach is instead playing Eddie, with Wyll as Columbia, because the two of them quickly become close if you recruit them both, and Karlach would definitely have the time of her life zooming around on that motorcycle-not to mention that one of her horns is broken, which fits with Eddie’s head trauma. Plus, tell me Wyll wouldn’t look awesome in Columbia’s golden top hat. Finally, Jaheira and Minsc are Dr. Scott and the Criminologist, as the two non-romanceable companions and the two Rocky Horror characters who don’t get to hook up with anyone. Minsc is specifically the Criminologist because I think he and Boo would have a great time narrating everything, and Jaheira is Dr. Scott because she seems to have her shit a bit more together than everyone else, which fits the straitlaced Dr. Scott. The minor roles are played by the hirelings.
"One last thing - don't shout out you moves like that. It spoils the surprise for your foes." I don't know, it seemed to work well for Wong Fei Hung (as far as I'm able to find, that's actually a historically accurate thing the movies get right about him)

Astarion is the perfect "I can fix him" character
if youre playing regular tav its "i can fix him" if youre playing as durge its like "im going to try and fix him but he will probably make me worse"
I don't even want to fix him, I think I want to keep him as is - like he's kind but he's just smarmy
i wouldn't say he's kind lol @@Sophie_Anne_21
@hinasakukimi he gets there. At the beginning he's a bit.. violent, but you can talk him down from things and voice your opinions. I have a softer Astarion currently
@@Sophie_Anne_21 i think that's what people mean when they say they can fix him 😂😂 because astarion as is is... well, he needs a lot of work
Astarion- *Exists*
Shen- *Melts in bisexual panic* I want him.
If this is just from act 1 alone, I wonder what will happen as the journey continues
Karlach will happen >:)
Its actually crazy how on-brand Shen's Barbarian roleplay is so far ❤
Never in the three decades I've been alive have I ever felt anything at all for the whole vampire thing
Until Astarion
same here!!! I'm a WEREWOLF FAN 100%... until Astarion XD
Same!!
The fact that Shen completed the shadow druid quest and they dont need to steal the idol anymore is hilarious
I knew Shen would have problems with this one. Bonk -> Horny Jail.
I think you mean Horny Solitary Confinement for Shen.
RIP CHEEMS
to quote Amelia Tyler, Narrator of the game
"You can't send us to the horny jail, we already live there. we have the keys."
Bladur inspires me.. My parents said if i get 50K followers They'd buy me a professional camera for recording..begging u guys , literally
Begging...
"That could be the tagline for the entire game. Frantic Bi Energy!" one of the outtakes done by the narrator
Barbarian: *smashes locked book*
Book: opens
Bard: *slowly pulls pants back up*
"It's a Sleight of Hand check! *HAND!!"*
Can't wait for her to meet Karlach, I would be very surprised if Shen didnt just explode out of bi overload
Karlach: "I wanna ride you till you see stars"
Shen: *Devolves into murmurings of the word Mommy*
I know I did 😂
Every companion in this game does it for me.
Every. Single. One of them.
Shen's inner scalie came out upon seeing Dragonborn
This is why the Dream Guardian can't be a Dragonborn.
They would be too powerful otherwise.
@@jtlego1My inner Scalie, AyAAyAAd after seeing, and hearing Double, Trouble for the, first time.
It was my general interaction on two fronts because I'm also a huge dragon nerd so two buttons were pressed
My first character in BG3 is a Bronze Dragonborn Paladin, who has a jaw like an anvil and shoulders like a barn door. It's hilarious when ordinary humanoids threaten me, because the facial animations look exactly like someone who is an enormous lightning breathing dragon man would when a Gnome smack talks him.
Bro, the amount of luck in this video. Natural 20's, critical hits, Shadowheart hitting something. It's insane
A "bightmare"
With Bi - temarks 🤤🤤😗😗
Bidur's Gate 3
Yes
A bite-mare, in fact.
The fact that Astarion is voiced by Neil Newbon is amazing, I love his personality. 😂
He also did the mocap~
Shen, going back through the footage to edit: "WHY DID I LOOT LITERALLY EVERYTHING, I SPENT SO MUCH TIME"
If you don’t know a fun fact about Baldurs Gate 3, here’s one.
Heisenberg from Resident Evil Village and Astarion have the same english voice actors.
Heisenberg, as in, "that Boulder punching asshole."? Damn, he has range!
Noooooo why would you do this now I want him even more 😭
holy shit
"He's got one job and he's failing at that one job" is a perfect embodiment of how Action Economy and 5e Martials function (or, more exactly, don't function).
The best kind of martial is a caster
if you aint got advantage, or the enemy sleeping or frozen in place, you aint hitting.
unless the enemy is attacking you. then somehow they manage to hit my 30-ish AC pally for crits more often than not >.>
@@godsplayingfield this is why it was a bad idea to get rid of flanking rules.
nah flanking hurts martials as well and its also pretty boring@@seanwilliams7655
@@seanwilliams7655 flanking makes the game slower and just overall more boring. if u like it u can just play with flanking. also flanking is a nightmare for dms
I love how the character creation section of the video is just her screaming in Bi
I think I will never not go for Astarion in my game plays. I love elves, I love vampires, I love sad backstories, I have a "I can fix them" helper syndrom ... he is just too perfect. Tho it is hard to resist muscle mommy Karlach or Gale or Wyll xD
After finishing his quest I literally feel the same way, I have fallen in love with this wet cat of a man
@@AeroViro WET CAT 💀 accurate

It’s as if the gods made him to ruin us. (If you know you know)
Fun fact: That Strange Ox is not, in fact, a Druid. Don't fight him until you're at least level 5, though. He's a rough one.
Gotta ask, what is he? Killed him in a "fuggit murder the whole grove" mood and he dropped an interesting ring without changing form to his original thing.
@@syrusalder7795 interesting. I killed him later, at Last Light, and he did not go quietly.
Oh, definitely use Speak with Animals on him and do the ability check options with him.
@@WolfHreda i did that but he never changed into anything other than an ox. Weird. Maybe it was bugged coz the druids and tieflings were doing some minor race war crimes at the time and they kinda killed him for me?

Lately, the idea to want to try this game has been bothering, because of so much coontent, videos and how many of my friends are playing it yet it hasn't been wnough to convience me.
Yet, this wonder of a woman, with just her chaotic whacky self, with her dumb choices, contagious wheezing laughter and so on, did it on finally convincing me to try it out. I love you Shen!!
"if you fancy Astarion, you might want to consider therapy.... He's so damaged, I MUST have him. Enjoy the fantasy and THEN call a therapist. It's a two step thing innit, it's very important you do both." -the narrator
Funny enough, I played Barbarian too, and when I got to the magic mirror door, I Intimidated it into opening. I was like "Open, or I'll smash you with a nearby brick", and the mirror was like "daddy chill", and opened up. I laughed so hard.
Anytime voxer passes the intelligence check i just think: " Oh it's his turn with the braincell" XD
I am 15 min in, and watching Shen just not Rage the whole time so far is sending me into Jupiter's abysmal atmosphere XD
Shen is my internal monologue in character creation.
24:05 Astarion: "What happened to the sun?"
Voxer: "Easy, white chocolate..."
Ah yes another story of Shenpai putting her son in dangerous situations. That will scar Voxer for life. But this time Voxer has a rage problem. What could go wrong? 😂
My expectations were exceeded, and now my day is brighten beyond measure. Thank you for this video. Could not stop smiling the whole way through.
Shen understands the most important rule of D&D: if it can't be solved with brute strength, it's not a real problem.
I am so happy someone decided to channel Frank-N-Furter into a vampire we can seduce.
I never thought about it that way, but now that you bring it up... the similarities are uncanny.
He is frank n futher if he was in a y2k barbie movie
What have you done?!
It spoils the surprise for your foes."
I don't know, it seemed to work well for Wong Fei Hung (as far as I'm able to find, that's actually a historically accurate thing the movies get right about him)
I love that Shen responses are just as Unga Bunga as Voxer responses.
I can hear the bi panic when, “show nudity” option came up
the barbarian options are insane. Shempai your reactions are so funny, i wish i could play like this without having to micromanage everything and constantly restart...
