      Anpad insaan here is the defintion of passive income . Passive income refers to earnings derived from financial investments or business activities in which an individual is not actively involved. It is income that requires minimal effort to earn and maintain. Examples include rental income, dividends from stocks, interest from savings, and certain types of business income where the individual is not directly managing the day-to-day operations. The goal of passive income is to generate revenue with less ongoing effort compared to actively working for income.

    Darshan appears to be quite composed and thoughtful. One aspect that surprised me was his view on vehicles as assets. Traditionally, precious metals are often seen as assets when fashioned into jewelry for family members. However, liquidating such assets can be challenging, with significant losses incurred due to making charges and jeweler negotiations. Additionally, reconsidering P2P lending might be wise. My early experiences with such platforms haven't left me with a favorable impression of this investment avenue. While Darshan's age wasn't mentioned, I presume he is a bright and young individual with many years ahead of him. Wishing him the best of luck!

    • @darshanthakker1402
      @darshanthakker1402 10 месяцев назад +2

      Hello.
      I consider vehicle as an asset because that's also what a bank looks it as. For example, you buy into a share of the company and it's value goes down, technically you can still sell it at loss and get some of your capital back. Same thing is applicable to a car as well :)
      Also, the price of my vehicle has gone up after i purchased it and I'm getting offers to sell it at a 10% profit over my purchase price.
      Coming to precious metals, i only prefer purchase biscuits so there are no making charges or any other loss that i may have to incur. I buy / sell the biscuits at prevalent market rates without paying any extra commission or mark up.
      Regarding P2P lending, i have put a part of my portfolio in it and not the entire corpus. As soon as a get a favorable entry point in the equity market, i will be moving a large chunk of that corpus to equities.
      I park into P2P so as to get an alpha return of 5% for short time.
      Btw, I'm 30 and will turn 31 this year :)

      So P2P lending is solely based on Risk-Reward ratio. It gives me an alpha pf 5-6% over traditional debt instruments and I'm absolutely okay with the risk involved in it.
      It's for short term and this money will be moved to equity at a future point :)

    When Anshuman asks about the investment portfolio split, it is helpful if the IRR/ returns of each investment are provided to us viewers .. for e.g., this dude has invested in precious metals, real estate , even vehicles (i don't get how vehicles are investments - are vehicles appreciable investment, really ?) .. i see no MFs/ PMSs, and just 25% stocks .. for a wealth manager that is quite unique ..
    The IRR of each investment would clarify (even justify) the investment portfolio (asset allocation) rationale.
    Also does P2P lending allows 18% CAGR returns? If so, that is more (or atleast similar) returns than most MFs. the relative risks is the key though.
    Thanks.

      Hi,
      For example, you buy into a share of the company and it's value goes down, technically you can still sell it at loss and get some of your capital back. Same thing is applicable to a car as well :)
      Any investment avenue that you're holding in your portfolio can go down but you can still sell the same and get some of your capital back.
      That investment avenue is still an asset your you, thought negative!

      Stocks- 16%
      ULIP - 15%
      NPS - 11%
      Real estate - 12%
      P2P- 10-11%
      Precious Metal- 12%
      I don't have any PMS as the ticket size is 50 lacs. Wish i had that kind of liquid money / investable corpus 😅

    15:43 he recommends taking home loan even if you have cash upfront. I am sorry but I don't understand your logic . Please calculate it in excel and provide a proper justification. It does not work that way. In any case, home loan rates are higher than FD rates. Only take home loan if you want to invest the amount somewhere where the expected return is more than the home loan rate and processing/admin charges

    • @darshanthakker1402
      @darshanthakker1402 10 месяцев назад +1

      Home loan rates in India will vary between 6.5%-9% as per the current interest cycle in India. Home loans in India usually get paid in 10-25 years.
      In that amount of time, you will be beating your HL interest rate hands down of you invest your money in just an Index fund !!

      @@darshanthakker1402 Hi Darshan. I can say with experience that just like saving, spending is also a habit. If you spend 50% now you'll spend the same proportion with higher income as well. There's nothing wrong in spending. But being aware of your finances is definitely important. I'd never recommend anyone to buy ULIPs, P2P for investments. A car is ONLY a liability. You can think of it as 1lakh rent for next 15 years because after that time it's of no value. Also remember if your FIRE number is 10Cr today, 15 yrs later that would equate to 40Cr. Just a few things to be taken care of. Apart from that cheers and awaiting your travel vlog!✌🏻
