- So this guys bolts on his caliper would not come off. Another mechanic even tried before I was brought the bike and couldnt get them to break free. So I was just going to change the tire but he wanted me to go ahead with extracting the bolts.
Thanks man, dealing with the exact same thing right now. I like how you rotated the caliper just enough to get it started. Super helpful!
I need to come to you for this lol. I have 1 stripped bolt from the last time you did tires. Crappy Harbor Freight hex tool. Got new bolts, just need the bad one taken off. Mine ain't stuck like this tho just stripped a little.
My exact bike and my exact issue... this is a life saver. Stupid me, I read a torque spec on line that was wrong and over torqued my bolt.
07 zx6r sa.e problem. Got 3 of the 4. Looks like I'll going to the chisel.
I hope this helps you
Let me know if you get it
going to try this on my first bike 2007 kawasaki ninja 650r. bought it from an auction was sitting in the sun for 5 years 😅
that was helpful thanks man
I have a 09 ninja 250 lifted of the ground doing maintenance to it... what is up with those caliper bolts.... they were like 150ft-lbs... no wonder people strip them. SMH...
How’s u get it off?
@@trevonstewart3636 elbow grease and determination lol
Yeah they are known for stripping extremely easily. Go on the forums and people post about it all the time and show link for stronger more reliable alternatives
I'm also having the same problem, my friend has an aprilia rx 50 cc and never took oil in the bolts, and we can't even remove the two brake bolts, it looks like they are welded, they are stuck in a ridiculous way. I tried using an electric drill and it doesn't even have power. I don't know what to do, I'm going to try putting wd-40 or oil in it little by little to see if it helps.
Gracias
Idk why everything on a bike has Allen key head 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
How much are the bolts?
You can get a set on partzilla specific to your bike for like 10 bucks
I am just struggling with the same problem in exactly the same bike :(
I'm having the same problem, a bike (a cross bike), now the rear brake started to brake on its own, we tried to take the brake off, noticed the brake oil is fine, it probably has too much crap inside the brake like sand, or dirt. One of the pads is good, it moves forward and backward, the other one doesn't, Now we can't get the two screws out that make the brake piece open in two halves, I don't even know what to do.
@@speedymarctry compressing the piston you might need a new one if it's not releasing. There should be another bolt you can loosen to release the pads
