    The contempt the WRU have for Welsh fans and the actual game in Wales is so obvious and has been for a while. They're more interested in padding the bottom line and their own bonuses that they're happy to cater to whoever is willing to pay the most.

    In sky if you go to settings then setup then preferences and change the language to Welsh. When they put a background commentary in English you will hear this but only the commentators not the rest of the programme. It works for me.

      Thanks Tony. Let’s hope they get the rights to it so we can all watch it free 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    I went to all of those autumn internationals. Can't believe we missed out on a famous all blacks win by 2 points! (1 point would have been a draw), and a Springbok win by 3 points (2 points for the draw). Back in the day when tickets were just about affordable and the game of rugby was almost completely unrecognisable from what we see today. Unbelievable how much the game has changed in such a short period of time.

      So true. That when Wales we chucking the ball about for fun. What a real spectacle, Henson scored two against SA and I found my new hero (for a short while anyway)😂
      And the ticket prices now just add to the insult. The are just pricing the average fan out of rugby. So annoying

    Aussie here please tell me your thoughts on the upcoming Aus Tour I'm quite excited given the Aus teams improvements in Super Rugby and Joe Schmidt as coach

      Welcome to the channel mate 🇦🇺
      Have to be honest. I don’t get to watch much super rugby bar highlights so I can’t express much knowledge there but as for Schmidt I think it’s a really smart choice. Far more practical that Eddie and similar to us you guys are in a real rebuilding stage and I think he’s a great person to resent what’s been going on over there.
      Tbh it’s a real evenly balanced tour and whoever gets the success in the series it could be a real springboard to get them pointing in the right direction moving forward. I can’t call it myself. What do you think?

      @TheWelshSportsPodcast Wales are a real boogie side for Aus. I couldn't call it myself alot of teething for Aus to do under Schmidt who will demand speed and accuracy

    • @TheWelshSportsPodcast
      @TheWelshSportsPodcast  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah it’s similar to us with a lot of issues trying to bring so many new young players in all at the same time. A few flashes in the 6N but also a lot of bad execution

    If you watch rugby on s4c sometimes that put the commentary in English but you have to go into a settings on sky and change the language to Welsh

    • @TheWelshSportsPodcast
      @TheWelshSportsPodcast  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah hopefully they do that for the non Welsh speaker but not sure if they will be aloud because they might not have to rights to do an English broadcast

    My answer to this would be to start televising lower division and under 20 rugby on the terrestrial tv, it is just as entertaining. All the establishment want is money now and sod the future of the game

      Yeah I think that’s a fair point mate. They only put a couple of games on S4C online but there always good ones and I’m sure if they put more on there people would watch

      Grassroots rugby in Wales is knackered, without exposure we’ve had it. I for one won’t be subscribing to TNT. I’d encourage everyone to go watch their local team and have a beer in the clubhouse after.

    I don't think many fans object to the principle of subscription any more, especially with the game's finances as they are. The problem is the price. £9 a month to watch 4 or 5 games was fine; and despite myself I have to admit that Amazon's coverage was decent. £30 a month is different. That's £10 a game if you're a Wales-only casual. And even if you watch everything in the autumn, you're paying 230% more than you paid last year for the same product. It's not dreadfully realistic to expect the bulk of your viewers to just shrug that off. I fear we'll discover that a lot of us are more "casual" than we thought we were...

      I think that’s such a good point and when you take into account the current financial climate that a lot of people find themselves in then it hard to justify that type of outlay.
      My play certainly isn’t to find a free illegal stream to watch it 👀😂

    I will not be paying £30 a month just to watch wales play, if i had the time to watch European and premiership rugby then MAYBE worth it a bit more and i dont watch premier league footy, as far as i am concerned ill be brushing up on my welsh to watch on S4C , i think WRU has made a mistake on this.

    I would pay for a Rugby Union channel, I would also for Aussie Rules but I have no interest in all the other sports hence I will not pay for TNT or Sky Sports ...it's as bad as The BBC Licence, paying lots for a load of shyte you don't watch anyway.

    • @TheWelshSportsPodcast
      @TheWelshSportsPodcast  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah I agree with you and I think most rugby fans would too. Unfortunately I doubt that will ever happen the way TV rights work 🥹

    I've been watching rugby my whole life but I would not pay to watch it these days. It's just not that entertaining anymore in my opinion. I'll watch it if it's free but it's just not that exciting to me anymore. To me that is.

    • @TheWelshSportsPodcast
      @TheWelshSportsPodcast  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah I think that’s fair, especially when you take into account how poor the side has been recently. It’s a slippery slope to nobody being interested in the sport 😬
