I would absolutely love for this to happen (of course if schools would allow it) - the story of drugs & addiction shouldn't be hidden from children, we should be educating the younger generations. I knew about drugs from such a young age - obviously due to my up bringing but its moulded the choices I make every day growing up. I highly recommend getting in touch with Paul Hannaford who features in this documentary (info in bio of video) his job is to go to schools and educate youngsters/ tell his story. x
Paul Hannaford came to my secondary school when I was in year 10/11 nearly 10 years ago now and I can still remember to this day his captivating, chilling story. It hit home to so many of us in the room that day - highly recommend. X

I am a daughter of a mother who overdosed when I was 14 years old. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I can’t wait for the next episodes, this really puts my mother’s life in perspective and shows others how drug addicts life’s are like and how they are affected, like my mothers. I watched how she lived and I feel so deeply saddened by every person who has had or are experiencing it. I have never really spoken to anyone about the raw details of it all. Sydney you make me want to talk about my story too. One thing for sure is I wish I was and my family was enough for her to get help. I wish I could of helped her. Thank you Sydney for sharing your story.

So beautifully created. I know what it’s like to lose a mum. I lost mine almost 8 years ago in March to cancer. My mum was always strong and never complained about anything. To anyone who is reading this that’s lost a loved one, I’m sorry. You are so strong and will do your loved ones proud. Things do get better I promise, I can’t say you will ever get over it but time is a healer. I was 12 when she died and still to this day still don’t quite believe that she’s gone. Sometimes I don’t remember certain parts of her and it makes me sad but I just have to remember the good things about her like her smile and her belly laugh and her warm heart. This video is so sad but just an amazing production x

This is so close to my heart, I lost my dad in 2016 and he had a long history of a drug and alcohol addiction for 25 years. It really did affect my childhood just like I can imagine it affects any child. So inspiring for this to be openly spoken about as I haven’t come across this on RUclips before 💖

I lost my dad when I was 15 and he was trying to recover from a near 30 year drug addiction to heroin also my heart breaks for your family and its so special you are sharing this I went to a very posh school so no one really related to me with regards to my dad's addiction and then ultimately his death 💔 thank you so much for being so brave and sharing this x

Just started this documentary Sydney and your strength is unimaginable filming this, you and your mum look so alike! Your mum will always be looking down on you in life especially when your bringing your child into the world
Same thing as my mum we have both had a very similar up bringing thank you for allowing us to see this and Showing people the impact drugs have on others and maybe they will see another side and not automatically assume the worst and judge straight away xx

This has hit me hard🥺 You are incredible for raising awareness about something so personal and heartbreaking. My brother suffered a drug addiction for 13 years and it broke our family. We are lucky enough to still have him here with us today after numerous close calls but I know others aren’t so lucky and it breaks my heart 🥺 I can’t imagine how awful this must have been for you and your family. It proves the affects drug addiction can have on not only the individual but the family that have to cope❤️🩹

Wow... What a fantastic documentary.
I also grew up in the 80s / 90 s and know first hand what it is like to loose 2 loved ones to drug Abuse.There definitely needs to be more awareness on this and also alcohol addiction as I honestly believe that this has and still is effecting more and more people today.Its not just the person it effects it does tare family s apart which is so sad because it was always swept under the carpet back then and if we had more people like you and you family talking about it maybe it wouldn't have effected as many people as it did and that we would of understood how bad drugs really are.
You should be so proud of yourself.im sure your mum will be.ever single person in this documentary are fantastic for talking about this and the way it has been made is amazing.

I’ve been struggling with my mental health recently due to my mums battle with addiction and mental health which has caused her to not be present in my life since I was about 2/3. I usually suppress the emotions so when I do think about it it really hits me hard. Just knowing there’s people that understand the devastation that addiction causes and I’m not alone brings me some form of comfort. You are incredible and I’m so thankful for this series.

Drug addiction is so sad for all, I am lucky to be a little over 11 years clean 1 day at a time from addiction to the drugs your mum used.
As someone who was brought up by there nan because of my parents bei g addicts this hits home exactly what happened to my mum she thought she could save my dad and he abused her physically until she had no other choice but to participate she's gone and he's still here.... this series is gonna hit home well done Sydney for you're bravery and honesty I know how hard this must of been to make and I'm sure she would be so proud of u xxx
