Now it is almost end of 2016 and I am stikl rewatching this drama again and again. Kudos to the writer, director, team. They make every character shine. Absolutely love the plots. Even after watching it so many times, this show still make me cry, smile, and laugh.

Two more shows to add are prison playbook and hospital playlist. Both from the same director of this show. Even though they are not family based like this show, it is very entertaining, realistic and unpredictable. You will love it.

As a Korean, This is my best. but my husband picked 1994. I was 8yrs old in 1988. This drama made exactly same circumstances even little small items. I miss the times and neighborhood.But I wonder how oversea fans got inspired by this drama bcuz it is really historical and human drama for korean.

To be honest The series reminded me about family values and things that really matter in life. I love every single character in it except the bullying Bora in the first few episodes urgh. 1988 is the first of the franchise that I’ve watched and I wish I had started with the earlier ones because nothing tops this afterwards

this is my all time fav kdrama. there's a lot of good dramas but FOR ME no one can beat this. i learned a lot from this drama, laughed a lot and cried a lot. the chemistry of every couple is also good and their actings isn't cringy. i can also relate to some parts. so i wanna thank all the staffs and casts for making this drama amazing. Fun, anger, love everything. Again Dong always tried to company duk seon in singing or dancing, everytime. They also teased it other hahaha. It was cut on UK netflix as well. Songs always cost more to leave in though. Songs and even ringtones of songs are cut or replaced on Netflix versions. Such a shame.

It was cut on UK netflix as well. Songs always cost more to leave in though. Songs and even ringtones of songs are cut or replaced on Netflix versions. Such a shame.
