i honestly don't think the writers anticipated how good Ryu Jun Yeol will be with his role as Jung Hwan. He was so good that we all wanted him to end up with the main girl! He was the most developed character of the show, it kinda felt like we grew up with him, like we went through growing pains with his character. Reply 1988 was a really good show. But yes, #JusticeforJunghwan
i wish someday people will rewatch reply1988 again without prejudice, ships and everything that blocks them from understanding the true value of this drama. the story is perfect, the writer did very well for this story. the ending is amazing. now if you don't agree with me, you have to rewatch the drama again and expand your comprehension.
I know right. The drama was more than simply just love stories. It taught us the value of relationships, life, success and failure. When I watched it I was honestly expecting a cliche love story but reply 1988 was much, much more than that. The fact that in the beginning Hyeri is shown to be such a bad student, but kind hearted, and in the ending she finally ginds the job best for herself; An air hostess. And also Jung-hwan's brother, how he failed and failed and failed but finally discovered what's perfect for him and succeeded in it. It took him time, but he did. Every single parent's relationship with their children. The problem with being poor. The relationships between each neighbors. There were also some heart-wrenching scenes in the story. The first time I honestly cried was when the police had come to arrest Bo-ra and her mother was on her knees begging. The acting was absolutely out of the world. I fricking loved the drama for all that it was not just for the ships. Reply 1988 was more than just the love stories. It was life.
yeah, ppl are too focused on their ships that they disregarded what the writer wanted to tell us. this is one of the most realistic dramas ive ever watched. in real life, we want someone expressive of what they feel about us. junghwan was the typical leads of kdramas, he's a tsundere, and while he was given more screentime with deoksun, no matter how long their time together was, he never made a move, acted rude around here while hiding behind the curtains and watching her. meanwhile taek, even tho they had short screentime and their story developed on the latter part of the series, he was expressive of his feelings in all their scenes together. that's why he was the endgame. all those ppl who didn't watch the last 2 episodes just because taek won deoksun would never fully understand the story, it was narrated by junghwan himself. thats a shame for them for being petty. they missed the whole point.
I love the ending to. You are so right. The ending is so perfect. Park bo-gum was perfect for Doksun. He was mild, shy and highly intelligent. Also he had no mother. Doksun seems to be the only one who was motherly towards him even though they were the same age. I do love the other guys too... but the love story for Doksun was perfect, I just wanted more scenes between doeksun and her chess-master love 💘
so many times i watch this and it always makes me laugh...Jhung Hwan shy face just like he did it with half heart, but he kept dancing till the end....thats funny really...😄

At first it's kinda funny but the longer it is playing the more wholesome this particular scene gets. How I wish I could watch Reply 1988 for the first time again. The best KDrama of all time imo.

When they skipped over showing us them dancing early in the episode, I thought we had missed out. Was pleasantly surprised to see this at the end. It did not disappoint. I was cheesin' from ear to ear throughout the whole thing.
When I started watching this drama I was not aware of Bo gum's popularity and that Ryu jun yeol is a newbie. So my unbiased opinion was that Ryu Jun yeol's role as junghwan was more convincing than taek's. Jung Hwan was the best choice for deoksun. But I think park bo gum was made the lead just because he is senior than ryu jun yeol in acting career. Taek was not bad but junghwan was a better match for deoksun. And in the end the story just neglected junghwan and did not show what happened to him after all these years. This just broke my heart.😭😭
Eram Fatima ikr. they should give junghwan someone to love 😅 but I think Junyeol had acted long ago but not started with a lead roles. I'm noticed him on The producers. he acts as rookies.

Personally I don’t think it has anything to do with bo gum’s popularity. If you watch some of the other shows by the same people who made the reply series they always do something that shows harsh reality. As Junghwan said on the show he hesitated too much and taek didn’t which is why he got the girl.
I know but in reality. If someone did not make a move, good things will passed,Taek has taken the initiative and shows that he is more true to his feelings while Junghwan have so many hesitations and all the opportunity he had just passed like that. Dont worry in real life Junghwan and Deoksun became real couple, so who is the real winner here

When they skipped over showing us them dancing early in the episode, I thought we had missed out. Was pleasantly surprised to see this at the end. It did not disappoint. I was cheesin' from ear to ear throughout the whole thing.

When I started watching this drama I was not aware of Bo gum's popularity and that Ryu jun yeol is a newbie. So my unbiased opinion was that Ryu Jun yeol's role as junghwan was more convincing than taek's. Jung Hwan was the best choice for deoksun. But I think park bo gum was made the lead just because he is senior than ryu jun yeol in acting career. Taek was not bad but junghwan was a better match for deoksun. And in the end the story just neglected junghwan and did not show what happened to him after all these years. This just broke my heart.😭😭
Eram Fatima ikr. they should give junghwan someone to love 😅 but I think Junyeol had acted long ago but not started with a lead roles. I'm noticed him on The producers. he acts as rookies.

Personally I don’t think it has anything to do with bo gum’s popularity. If you watch some of the other shows by the same people who made the reply series they always do something that shows harsh reality. As Junghwan said on the show he hesitated too much and taek didn’t which is why he got the girl.
I know but in reality. If someone did not make a move, good things will passed,Taek has taken the initiative and shows that he is more true to his feelings while Junghwan have so many hesitations and all the opportunity he had just passed like that. Dont worry in real life Junghwan and Deoksun became real couple, so who is the real winner here
