I just think this show... And all the actors and actresses, is on a whole new level! Dare I say it but, is this the next Game of Thrones? Albeit sci-fi? Maybe it's still way too early to tell if it will reach such lofty heights but, so far.... So damn good!
I disagree. I think the show is pretentious. This show is more for smart teenagers or dumb adults. If you’re educated and enjoy philosophy, this show is beneath you. (Besides the good special effects)
It's been the best show since Westworld. I see elements obviously of Alien, and also Frank Herbert's Dune, and even a little bit of Lucas's Star wars--it is absolutely a brilliant SF--that also brings in much of the speculative SF that I love with the philosophical explorations of extreme religion, what it means to be sentient, to be human and using ancient religious myths as far back as the Lamia from Greek mythology ( and obviously more recent religions like Christianity) Anyway it is bloody brilliant Science Fiction!!!!!
Mother is downright nightmare fuel when she transforms into killer-robot mode. The actress definitely has no trouble selling that those androids, in that state, are pure remorselessly evil. Of course, they were programmed to be just that way by the human faction that controlled them, but still, very chilling when she transforms all the same. This is in sharp contrast to father, who, despite being somewhat emotionless, or seeming so, seems at times, rather disturbed by mothers actions throughout the series.
Agreed on all fronts. Mother is absolutely terrifying. She is literally an Avengers-level threat! And ever since episode one, I have been obsessed with the idea of Necromancers.
In Irish ☘️ (mh) is pronounced as [v]. So, the name Niamh is pronounced (Nee+ahv). So, if you take “Knee” and “Have” and remove k and h then put -nee & -ave together you get closer to Niamh (nee+av).
The series is pitch-perfect. And creates a world that is unique, nighmarish and never-been seen before. It will take ages before we inhabit another earth-like planet ( if climate change and disease does not wipe out humanity) and it is a gift that gives us a peek to the future. Thank you. All the actors were splendid and season 2 is much better than the previous season. I am also very impressed by Selina Jones's beauty.
I would love to live on Keplar 22B. It looks so beautiful in S2. I adore this show...kind of wish I was an actor as I love the cast and Ridley Scott so much! Not many Anglo-Burmese Australian actors though lol...next life maybe...
Actually, Campion/Winta Shares a channel with his Older Brother. And, on his channel it is something about gaming or smth. But, Father is in the video and his channel is called nmbros you welcome
One thing that always bothers me with TV shows now is casting children. With sitcom you could literally watch the kids grow up on screen. But these days the average TV show has less than 12 episodes a season and can take more than 2 years to produce between seasons. I was shocked to learn that Campion was a 15 year old actor at the time this video was made. That means he is now 16. And the other children are going to grow up too. In order to work, the show either has to recast the children or do time jumps per season. But with the introduction of the second ark, that makes it very unlikely that much time will have passed between season 1 and 2. So children in the TV show would have aged 2 years between these two seasons. It is one of the problems Stranger Things had to deal with. Teenagers playing pre-teen children and then transitioning to looking like adults a few years later when it is time to do another season of shooting.
For the whole of season 2 at least Paul and Vita (the only young ones other than Campion) managed to remain the same! Campion did shoot up, however looking at it logically the embryos Mother was sent to Kepler with probably would have needed to be genetically modified to reach maturity earlier as there weren't that many of them and they needed to be able to adapt quickly to the non-Earth environment (which many failed to do) and begin building their technocratic civilization quite quickly - with only a small group of kids that genetic advantage would be paramount. Not saying they thought of that, but it doesn't seem "odd" that he's suddenly bigger in season 2, as it was also about 6 months since last we saw their small party between seasons. Are you enjoying season 2? Only one episode to go!! They may make another time jump, like 6 months or a year, between this season and the next. That way if the actor of Paul gets bigger it won't be too jarring as it's common for boys especially to suddenly get taller etc :)
Travis Fimmel wants flawed characters because where he excels at is weird emotional tantrums and highly unpredictable behaviour patterns wheras he literally sucks at portraying more stable guys. Never seen him being able to portray a regular guy. That's why he was good as Ragnar, even though his acting has big strengths(charisma, strong facial expressions, an ability to portray nihilism and madness) and weaknesses(Sucks at delivering his lines due to his pronounciation issues, his style is great at intense scenes but feels off at more regular ones)
I've always seen him playing slightly strange/unstable characters, or characters who lose the plot regularly like Marcus, haha. His most "sane" role I saw him in was probably the Steve McQueen movie which did feel kind of weird because his eyes still looked crazy even though he was acting quite sane :D
@@Vexarax His one big flaw for me is his delivery. It was quite clear in Warcraft. He just doesn't do well in sturdy, one dimensional roles and he obviousl doesn't have a theatre background.
@@subutaynoyan5372 - that particular aspect of how he acts always made him really stand out above many other actors to me - he brings dimension to roles that otherwise would be very one dimensional, the Warcraft example is perfect! I loved him in that film :D He seems more like a "real" (slightly unhinged) person - moving his face and eyes and using his voice in ways that many actors do not. Brad Pitt does the same thing sometimes, like in Fight Club, 12 Monkeys, and Snatch - in those films Brad Pitt's entire face moves with his dialogue haha it's brilliant and I was really happy to find another actor who can do it consistently when I started watching Vikings and saw Fimmel's portrayal of Ragnar. In Wolves, he's perfect for the role of Marcus because he's actually playing a child soldier who has seen and done all sorts of horrible stuff, and was willing to murder someone and "steal their face" in order to take their place on an Ark headed for another world. Anyone capable of all that, with a history like his, would be unhinged. But he also retaines his humanity and isn't actually "a bad guy", so he loves Paul like a son and can even eventually see the logic in working with Mother rather than against her despite his history with necromancers, and tries to save some random kid (Campion) he literally just stumbled across when he first arrived on Keplar. He's playing a very multi faceted character so imo is perfect for that role as we can see the dimensions in his face and in the way he uses his voice etc. That's just my personal opinion though, I understand that many do not agree with me! ^_^
I don't know why the Android costumes can't be CGI and more metallic which would allow the actors to feel more comfortable just wearing green screen stretch suits.
Butchered Niamh Alger's Irish name is not pronounced Neem. her name is pronounced NEEVe. she is also Irish, so yeah not exactly a breakthrough Brit, the hint was in her name not being in the English language
I don't think he's that talented, but there's a certain set of character he can bring up. Fimmel's not that big into being a movie star or something of that ilk, otherwise he'd be a great character actor
Definitely the actress who played mother was outstanding for me
You are referring to Danish actress Amanda Collin.
