Interesting, just like my X2. A huge variety of sounds, but all of them a bit under the carpet. Makes for good background music, where attention to detail is not required. Or a wash of something in the back of a song. I like the simplicity of the M1 organ, which is just into your face, more. Or any sound based on DWGS single wave samples.
The synth is more than capable of sounding extremely modern in the right hands. Particularly with nicely programmed EDM-type sounds. It can be made to do a lot of things overall though of course
@Mustafa it depends on what audio driver you use. ASIO is generally a good choice on Windows at least. Even better still if you get an audio interface to plug your synth(s) into.
@Mustafa I don't have an X5D. I do have an M-Audio Oxygen 25 MIDI controller. I can tell you right now that ASIO4ALL is an honest to goodness nightmare to use properly and, while FL Studio ASIO is fine, I did notice that there's a fair bit of latency that makes playing slightly more difficult in my opinion. Using an audio interface reduces that much more than FL Studio ASIO and is infinitely easier to use than ASIO4ALL
@Mustafa Me to use a M-audio interface. Kontaktplayer Piano Noir was working fine in the beginning but my computer is getting slow due to too little free space on my hard drive.
Should I buy X5D or X5? I know both are almost the same. There's a X5 for 350 euros at my local music store where I can test it and see if it's fully working. X5D can be bought cheaper from online abroad with big postages but obviously I can't test them first. I have also some interest editing the sounds but that's more limited in X5?
Differences between X5 and X5D is that X5D has 64 voice polyphonic (X5 has 32) and ROM memory is larger, (8mb vs 6mb). That means there is more sampled sounds in it 430 on X5D vs 340 on X5, also X5D has more drum sounds in memory, but all parameters for sound making is exactly the same, so if you want to tweaking and programming, than X5 is good enough.
Thanks for asking but it is not finished yet. Can you help out by programming some modules in the language of PureBasic? www.purebasic.com/ plz help my channel to grow by pressing like & subscribe. By 1000 followers I will put some extra effort into this project.
This little old box is a true powerful synth!!
Your design looks beautiful. Great idea to help the Korg x5D become a legend.
Will try to make some effort before end of june.
@@SiggeSvahn Amazing!!!
Awesome work man!

@@oupahens9219 I believe that some effects lite flanger can bring some life into the sounds.
@@SiggeSvahn Yes, they do, but they put the sounds even more into the background of a mix.

how can i connect x5d to my laptop? Is it just a midi connector only that i needed?..Sorry Im a beginner..
Just buy a USBmidi interface and connect to the USB port of your laptop.
Hope they self install the drivers, some cheap brands don't, i am afraid...

@Mustafa yes
@Mustafa depends on your audio driver's input buffer. It won't be your X5D that introduces any latency. It would be like any other controller.

Hello love i.have both X5 and X5D also the NS5R. Are the sounds sets in the NS5R the same as the X5D i never checked into it.
I do not know anything about ns5r. Sorry.
How can you add arpegiattor if its not implemented in the hardware?
Set keyboard to LocalOff, Midi out to your computer, use an arpeggiator app, midi in to X5D. Done!
Hey, I have been looking for such as these. I owned an X5D and I like to create a GUI patch/effects editor for Linux. Do you have a github account?
Dont have github. PureBasic is available for Linux. Get it, learn it and we could cooperate? Keep in touch.
