she's so pretty!!! i know that orchids are REALLY finicky plants. they like the direct sun, and as for watering, i tend to put a few icecubes in the plant every day so that the soil soaks in up well!

I am not a plant expert, especially not houseplants, but I do know that some types of orchids (orkid) are very fiddly and some need to be sprays and fussed about daily or they die. Not that one obviously. I don't know how long you have had the orchid, but remember, most plants that flower only do so once per year. Some twice per year and some plants flower constantly until they go dormant or die. Like my aunt Almas irises, they were very showy for about two weeks at the beginning of May, but I had to prune the dead flowers off and won't get more flowers until next year. My Texas sage and creosote are flowering now, but my Texas mountain laurel and cassia have not for example. My autumn sage is flowering now, and will again in the Autumn after I have pruned it back. Tomatoes flower constantly until they die and rosemary (herb) flowers constantly until it gets cold, (dormant) and then starts blooming in the spring. So, if you have only had the Orchid less than a year, it is likely that it only blooms once a year and the new growth is a good sign.

Ive had the orchid for 2 years! New leaves always grow but not flowers 🤷🏻‍♀️

Your cactus "buds". I think they are called offsets. Basically the roots start growing another as an alternate way or reproduction (besides flowers) we have a Joshua Tree and a desert Yucca that does this too. The people who owned the house before us planted them and she would carefully take them up, put them in pots and give them away. So if your succulents have offsets, that is a good sign they are happy.

Keep an eye out on that cactus. (the one that grew a new pad) I have no idea how big they get, but I have one in my yard that is over 4 ft high and keeps getting infested with cochineal beetles. (Only prickly pear cactuses get cochineal beetles.) They do grow new pads every year (that may be different if it is supposed to be a potted plant) and flowers in little furry bulb shaped growths. The ones on mine are yellow, but they can have pink flowers too.

The plant only being foliated on one side doesn't necessarily mean no enough sun. I have a rosemary plant in my yard that has most of the foliage on one side, and it has always been outside. It nearly died (not my fault) because the people who planted it put it in a (big) plastic pot. Those plastic pots get sun damaged and snap after about 3-4 years. Summer 2021 the plastic pot cracked open, so all the water from the dripper was draining out and not watering the plant much so it nearly died. I stuck it in another pot, pruned the dead stuff off that winter and watched it all last year. It is still alive, but the part that is still alive is all on one side of the plant. Two weeks ago, I actually stuck it in the ground. They do better in the ground here than in pots. It is starting to "round out" but it will take a couple more years because it has to add new growth there instead of just growing off of older branches. Anyhow, that one had nothing to do with not enough sun, it had to do with a shitty plastic pot cracking.

Damn i wonder if i should move it to a different pot or if i should just leave it be!

Regarding repotting. I am no expert, but two plants in a pot big enough for 1 is pretty dodgy. I would personally look up how and when to do it. There are special potting mixes for cactus and succulents, make sure to use one of those, cacti don't like wet feet. I have never had an indoor cactus, but yeah, I knew about the fake flowers they put on it. Shady behavior if you ask me.

@@purmapup Yeah, especially in cemeteries where they (and plastic flags on national holidays) blow all over the neighborhood and no one cleans them up. I hate plastic flowers more than I hate ugly real flowers.

Do I name my plants? Well no. I don't have house plants because my parents have allergies but I do have a junk-ton plants in my yard and constantly planting more. I also have a small veggie garden. I am planning more raised beds for more veggies. Anyhow. Names? Not unless they already have them. Like a (large square planter 2&1/2 ft tall by 2&1/2 ft square) planter full of white irises I call them "Alma". The Irises were actually planted by my great-great aunt Alma at her home back in the 1940's. She passed away back in the 80's but her daughter (my grandfathers cousin) pulled up the bulbs before they sold her moms house and planted them in her own yard. When she retired and moved, she pulled those iris bulbs up again and they are in her yard now. When my dad retired, we moved around 45 minutes away from her, and she brought a bunch of bulbs over and gave them to me. I don't know how much you know about gardening but with bulbs, you can pull them up and divide them. Bulbs are like garlic, they grow more bulbs off of the others instead of making seeds. So if they get too crowded, gardeners pull up the clumps of flower bulbs and divide them up. They put some back, give some away, move them or whatever. So when my cousins irises got too crowded, she gave me a bunch. So when I need to water that planter full of irises (on a drip irrigation system, but if it is really dry, I can add a bit with a watering can) I just say "I am going to go water Alma". Some veggies also have variety names, especially tomatoes, like "Aunt Ruby's German green" tomatoes is a variety in my yard right now, another is "San Marzano" so I can ask my dad to "go check San Marzano" or "go check Aunt Ruby". Other varieties in my yard this year are Rapunzel, supersweet100, SuperMarzano, Roma, mortgage lifter, early girl, better boy and roma. So, I can say "go check roma, or go check mortgage lifter. I have other veggies but most don't need to be dealt with daily, like I have to wait for carrots and onions and whatnot so I just say "go get some carrots", even if there are like 3 different kinds in there. I have tons of shrubs (I am out in the desert, so no lawn, and they are all water wise), and a bunch of cacti that the previous owners left, but I don't name any of them like pets or anything. Just those heirloom irises.

Your "cactus family" is a succulent. Stupid name, but hell, I didn't decide to call them that. Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are cacti. I think (?) the spines are the reason that cacti are called cacti even though they are closely related. Other succulents don't have spines. I could be wrong though.
