I will teach you the easiest ways to achieve every death type in The Sims 4, up to Cottage Living Expansion Pack. If you enjoy torturing your sims as much as I do, this is the video for you! 😂

I remember when I didn't know dying from laughter was a thing: my comedian Sim was in a date with his wife, they were both very happy, and I made him tell the "funniest joke in the world", that was all it took... He became a widower right there and then.

My sim self was on a date with Castiel’s sim from Supernatural. They were both hysterical towards the end of the date. I had to use a cheat to prevent them from dying.
The joke was lethal
I believe that’s a reference to the Monty python sketch actually. Where a guy writes the funnies joke in the world and anyone who reads it dies of laughter. They use it as a weapon of war by telling enemy soldiers the joke too lol

The Sims Old Age death is kind of sweet in a way. They just wave to everyone like, “Bye, it’s time for me to go.” And then just calmly lies on the ground. No fanfare, no dramatic music. Just easy acceptance after a long, fulfilling life.
I love it in the sims 2 makes it look like their going on vacation on one the other death shows a hour glass to them

Literally yesterday I was playing the sims and my main sim had the hysterical moodlet, I didn’t know what it meant so I paused the game to watch some sims videos, got sidetracked, ended up on a sims death tutorial video. Turns out my sim was gonna die
love how with the farm animal deaths, the Grim Reaper's like "oh, you poor thing, it'll be okay, lemme give you a hug" but when your Sim dies he's just. on his phone.

Eh not really lol. When my sim Gracie died I was hurt lmao. She had just had a baby, gotten married, and was a law firm she was doing so well and was happy then she dies. & when her baby Liam grew into toddler he kept crying and mourning Gracie. And not to mention her husband was a mess so it was sad. But I saved her cause I didn’t save her death so I was able to play the game I saved before she died. Now she’s an elder and she can die of old age or something

I like the grim reaper's animation for reaping the live stock animals. I wish it was like that for pets too. Its sweet and makes you feel a little better about losing your buddy.
In the sims 3 the pet death animation was closer to the livestock death animations here where the reaper comforts/plays with the animal before death. I think they were originally aiming for realism with the animations by the time of the cats and dogs expansion but have gone back to the ts3 style reaper showcasing a soft spot for animals in the later packs
I feel like Death by Sadness should be a thing.
Basically what you have to do: get your Sim's mood from Sad, to Despairing, to Depressed. You'll get a little moodlet that says "(Sim's name here) is feeling really sad. They should cheer up, if they don't, something bad could happen..." If that doesn't happen, their death animation will show them crying and calling for the Grim Reaper (could be considered suicide), then laying down.

Let’s face it, the Grim Reaper is 100% an animal person. Like, he’s so gentle with them but with sims, meh it’s just another dead body 😅
And then in GrayStillPlay's Sims series, he's just like "what's gray doing now?" followed by "SWEET MOTHER OF GOD" half the time

And it is possible, anger (if someone is too angry) will have a heart attack, sadness (if someone is too depressed) will be committing su8c8de (which is not in Sims 4 but it is irl), embarrassed is impossible for real universe but is possible for Sims universe and hysterical (if someone laugh too much) will stops from breathing which that happened to me, I laughed so much that I ran out some air and almost died

The first time I had a chicken die of old age, it took an entire day for Grim to get it because my obsidian chicken kept fighting him. He circled the lot for the entire day until the obsidian chicken went in the coop

I cant believe I was so close to death all this time. I was super close to emptying out the hunger bar, making my sims swim with their fam while their energy is at red-orange, a sim going hysterial from her comedian mom, etc

The Murphy bed death has unexpectedly ruined some really great story lines let me tell you
I hate the murphy beds when it came out I put a family of 3 sims to test it and the 3 died in a row, killed 3 on the first try i got so mad I loaded my save and never used a murphy bed again.
Cleiton lopes I’ve had like 3 teenagers die because of that bed. Who even uses those bed in real life. Never seen one before
I was building a house for a new save file game, And i had my sim put it down to see the colours of the sheets better. Um yeah, they died first try, i didn't even start play, i was still building the house and i was rather upset lol
There is a mod called no murphy bed deaths but icemunmun I think their name is?
Lmao yeah, my sim was a snob in love with a random guy, they had their first date at her place, and then she was sleepy and died because she tried to open the bed

Wow! Thanks for talking about the shark attack. My Sim died and the notification told me he was pulled under the water. I had left my Sim to swim alone while I attended to another Sim so I didn’t see that. And I went to search the internet for shark death and nobody really talks about it. I thought I was going crazy. Thank you for such a comprehensive compilation of deaths.

In my game the reaper is pretty much the babysitter of my child, he plays with him, feeds him, changes his clothes, teaches him how to speak and do poop, reads him night stories to go to bed; he has become part of the family, it is honestly the most adorable and beautiful thing ever, honestly one of my best decisions ever made, and when my child will eventually become an adult and dies, well that’s storytelling at it’s best 👌🔥🔥🔥

I think it’s wholesome they are giving there last goodbyes and accepting it
If they were sad they would fight it but they are fulfilled with the life that they’ve lived
this was more of a thing on TS2 as Sims who didn't complete their aspirations begged to the Reaper but those who did everything willingly went happily and the Reaper even brings hula dancers, leaving a glorified tomb behind. It was nice for Sims to actually have a perspective on death, I guess!

I wish they would have kept the individual ghost for each death like in the sims 3 instead of the sims 4 ones turning different colors based off which emotion their feeling
Several of the ghosts are unique to their deaths for example the pufferfish has a fish floating around inside of them, the rabid rodent fever ghost is wearing a rodent costume and the murphy bed ghost is afraid of sleeping and can possess people
Well I once drowned all family members in Sims and they all were dripping water. My only Sim that was alive had to clean up after them because everything was wet

Most ghosts have certain ways they act. Death by fire, they cause fires. Things floating in them for some of them. etc

you can just upgrade the bed with you sims so it can't kill you sim, or leave it always down until you upgrade it, its a great game mechanic, makes you want improve you sims skill to improve the bed so it can't kill you.

You can get fires in the base game from the fireplaces as well as from the stoves and grills. Also, there is a playful moodlet that your sims get when they wear warm clothes that has caused many of my Sims to get hysterical and die.
I totally forgot to mention about fireplaces, grills as well as the science table for kids, which can cause fires too! Did not know about that playful moodlet, though. Thanks for your comment! 😁
I had a sim of Mercat and in place of her Star that she has on her head I used the Star sunglasses that give her a playful moodlet. I do have some pretty impressive Dazzlings and they’re on the gallery. They’re modded, my name is HotDogLucy, and they are the most canon looking Sims of the Dazzlings. The sunglasses must also be how Mercat died, plus I had to get her married to Pillow Cat again after she died (I ship the two)

I have a new one and it happened on the base game. KILLED BY A METEORITE. I had one of those deaths. My Sim was using the litle telescope, during the day. Then a message appeared saying that the Sim saw a meteorite coming on her way and should look for shelter, but I didn't believe it and sent her water the plants. After a few seconds... Boom, the meteorite crashed on her and she died. :D And congrats for your work.

My cousin’s rabbit Tony is a heartless manipulator. He pretends to like you just to get blueberries, lures you into thinking you have bought his love and can pet him, then he leaps away and chews up the sideboard. I should mention Tony is spoiled rotten: he has his own room with a tv playing the news or music during the day, a fridge for his fruits and veggies, a gorgeously disguised litterbox in a side table, and a couch to chew and sleep on. But at night he sleeps in his cage on the coffee table. My room is next door - yes I have my own room at my aunt and uncle’s mansion, only used when I visit from out of town and I have stuff I keep there - and when Tony wakes in early enough the morning that my aunt hasn’t yet come in for his special wake up routine, he gets mad and very loudly slams around in his cage. He’s a damn prince in that kingdom!

I wish deaths were a little easier . My sims almost never die by accident except this one time I was playing with a certain sim on long lifespan for MONTHS and then he died of laughter. I was gutted 😅

You forgot death by a meteor! I had a sim look at the skies through a telescope, panicking after seeing a meteor hurtling towards him and since I had no idea what was going on, it struck the poor lad.
It was added to the game in May 2022, so it didn't exist when I made the video.
Wow, I can’t even imagine how long it must’ve taken you to make this. Huge respect, and through this video I found many things about the packs I didn’t even know were possible (namely being a robot!) thank you so much!!

I’ve had a sims cat die from old age seconds after I sent her away for her final exam in university. That bout destroyed my heart 😭
I love the variety, but 99% of my sims die from old age only... I wish it was a bit easier for Sims to die because most deaths are super easy to avoid. I think I'm gonna play a challenge where I try to kill multiple sims in every possible way, this video is gonna come in handy!
In The Sims 4 Cottage Living when the cows, the llamas and the chickens die by old age (livestock), they are deleted from the game like servos in The Sims 4 Discover University with the catastrophic meltdown death and skeletons in The Sims 4 Jungle Adventure with the turning into bone pile death

My very first time playing, my Sim grilfriend, Dina Caliente, had moved in and on her very first night set herself and my kitchen on fire. She died right there.

My explanations and suggestions: I think the reason the shark attack is so rare is cause they wanted to make it realistic and sharks aren't very aggressive towards humans or in this case sims. They should make the durability of servos run out much faster when in water. Sims should have a 100% chance of dying when being struck by lightning a third time the only way to have a chance of survival should be to have a four-leaf clover with you or having drank an energy drink and still having the effect than it should be a 60% chance of death
For old age pets death
You won't get a warning before death so it'll surprise you.
On Normal lifespan, they live 6-11 days until they die.
So once they age into an elder, be ready.
This does apply to Horses I believe...
They really need to add more animations of final death rather than flopping to the side every time lol. Also, thank you for taking the time to get this video together for us; I'm sure it took quite a while.
Also also, there should be a way to die from depression and die from a broken heart. I think that would add to the game quite nicely.

My Sim Aaiden Smith, world renound child kidnapper, unfortunately drowned when he tried swimming without sleeping for like two days. This happened nearly first thing after I started playing again following a long hiatus

@@Bbtwink I think somehow (maybe if they travel to space with low rocket science or something) the rocketship can crash and the Sim can die but I'm not sure
@@Bbtwink yes, if you don't install the landing computer it can crash and there is a chance your sim will die
The "drowning" death reminds me of my first time playing sims 4. I made a family and all and barely everyone was at the pool and the daughter started drowning, I tried to save her but no sims reacted and she died
I love how most of the deaths are realistic then you just die by anger as if it is a natural cause.
I had a sim named Sam. He was the best sim in his family and had a great job until his sister came into the bathroom while he was doing his business and he died from embarrassment 😔
Also, the first son of my first sim drowned in the backyard pool.

So, today I was going to play the Sims 4, and about 51 minutes ago, I was not paying attention to my Sim’s emotions, and I was looking good through the notifications. I went to the top to see a notification said
_Mer Cat is dying from laughter!_
I went to see her, she was not Hysterical, she was very playful, but a couple seconds later her emotion swapped to Hysterical. I was very scared- more like how I was terrified! I got Mercat’s ghost to hang around, made Afu Ausage a spellcaster and added him to my household and used cheats to make him learn dedeadify, and revived Mercat, and then I had put Afu back in his house with his wife and baby.

sadly my sims never prematurely die, ive only ever gotten them to old age. I'm thinking of getting my current spellcaster sim to overcharge
Literally none of my sims died, just the ones I KILLED myself.

It only happens for me when I play multiple households. I have autonomy on but I've had my other sims come onto my lot and die. That's annoying lol

5:40 Idk if it will work for anyone else, but to fix this bug the sim has to change mood, for example make them sleep and wake up right after, it worked for me so I guess it will for you too ;)
I love how after the sauna death the grim reaper instant transmissions to your sim like he was expecting it to happen.
