People are waking up to the fact that all fishing gear, particularly fly fishing is vastly overpriced. I'll be generous to manufacturer That rod costs about $150 to make in America and its being sold for £899. That's top end, your bog standard shakeys that are made in China come in at about £15 landed. Don't get me started on Fly line.

I’m genuinely curious as to how you know the “real cost” of top end rods , I would reckon the markups would be big but that seems outrageous. Cheers

@@rob3518 The materials in the best rod cost about £60 that,s a blank which has been been rolled on the thighs of Athena and impregnated by Zeus, In that 60 include the best guides, handle whipping. The rod will be cut, rolled, painted and built in less than 2 hours.
