- Hi ! Here is a quick behind the scenes for an animation that i made for Google/RUclips. Also, some tips for beginners on Blender Greasepencil. I hope you'll like it ! Meanwhile, i continue preparing new stuff, hopefully another long tutorial !

you know what i LOVE about this animation that is not something i considered before? I like how the animation on the leaves in the background is at a much lower frame-rate than the leaves in the foreground. What a great technique. It's probably happening all the time in animation and I never noticed. It's like the animation equivalent of shallow depth of field haha
I know you said this a while ago- but the technique you mention is called parallax
@@oliviadekok9982Parallax is the difference in translation / panning of an object depending on its distance to the camera.
It's a similar relationship with distance/depth as parallax, but it affects the object's own animation speed rather than how fast it moves across the screen.

I'm so glad you've been posting your grease pencil process here. I've been following on socials for a while and I've always heard about grease pencil but never had any good real-world introduction/instruction to it. So these videos are just the convergence of two awesome things I've been needing. Thank you!
Also, you totally nailed the pronunciation of "lattice" the first time (no need to pronounce the "e" at the end).

I never thought of manipulating Grease Pencil with the lattice and it looks very useful.
For drawing on surfaces, I found it most useful to switch the view to orthographic (shortcut: numpad 5), which will allow you to zoom in and out without having to adjust the offset settings. I had a project which involved a lot of drawing on surfaces, so I've had a great opportunity to learn while working on it.
This became my new comfort video, ily 💙

god all your animations are so wholesome, and th motion pictures is so good, after my exams ill finally sit down and see how 2d animations works in blender im never able to draw in one plane...it always gets messed up

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it but your pronunciation of “lattice” is correct or at least consistent with other Blender users. But Google pronounces it the same way, you’re good.
