you know what i LOVE about this animation that is not something i considered before? I like how the animation on the leaves in the background is at a much lower frame-rate than the leaves in the foreground. What a great technique. It's probably happening all the time in animation and I never noticed. It's like the animation equivalent of shallow depth of field haha
@@oliviadekok9982Parallax is the difference in translation / panning of an object depending on its distance to the camera. It's a similar relationship with distance/depth as parallax, but it affects the object's own animation speed rather than how fast it moves across the screen.
I'm so glad you've been posting your grease pencil process here. I've been following on socials for a while and I've always heard about grease pencil but never had any good real-world introduction/instruction to it. So these videos are just the convergence of two awesome things I've been needing. Thank you! Also, you totally nailed the pronunciation of "lattice" the first time (no need to pronounce the "e" at the end).
I got so, so excited when I saw this in my feed! I love seeing your process. You are pushing Grease Pencil to its limits! Hope to see more stuff like this for you, even if it’s something really simple like a time lapse.
This video is a piece of art in itself. What an amazing way to explain something so it truly sticks. All your little in-between animations and title-cards gave me goosebumps!
That's so cool you're in the countdown! I saw a really cool one the other day and was wondering who they're reaching out to to make them. Really glad they've included yours :)
Thanks @@dedouze for this video! I did it! It's full of "out of the box" tips and workarounds I never guessed and I can't wait to watch the next one. Thank you a lot for sharing your secrets! Going back again to your first tutorial now... I need to practice more and more. I love your way of explaining and voice tone, it helps me to stay focused, for real this time :)
My mind is BOGGLED watching this… I literally had no idea that this was a thing you could do in 3D animation until today and I’m extremely impressed and my eyes are happy as hecc looking at this♥︎♥︎♥︎ beautiful work dude👍🏼
"i didn't have time to make a proper video" dude if this is not a proper, or even one of the best tutorials on youtube. not only about blender, but as tutorial video in general. great content, lot's of questions answered, keywords explained, further help provided... and most of all your voice + the music is so soothing you delivered more than you promised. thanks for the tutorial
I would pay for a course if you made one, your style and the way you make and create, the visual process. Honestly priceless content, I will be one of the first people to buy it if you ever announce it here.❤
god all your animations are so wholesome, and th motion pictures is so good, after my exams ill finally sit down and see how 2d animations works in blender im never able to draw in one plane...it always gets messed up
Wow! Excellent introduction to Grease Pencil and awesome list of artists and resources! I never thought of manipulating Grease Pencil with the lattice and it looks very useful. For drawing on surfaces, I found it most useful to switch the view to orthographic (shortcut: numpad 5), which will allow you to zoom in and out without having to adjust the offset settings. I had a project which involved a lot of drawing on surfaces, so I've had a great opportunity to learn while working on it.
J'adore ce que tu fais et heureux de découvrir cette vidéo et d'en apprendre plus, surtout quand je vois que tu fais ça sur blender 😍 Continue comme ça, t'es trop chaud 👌
Beautiful work- as a 2D artist learning 3D (out of necessity to survive) I felt so lost. I felt like I was abandoning everything I loved about this field. This is the perfect marriage and has motivated me to keep on learning. Thank you so much for sharing.
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it but your pronunciation of “lattice” is correct or at least consistent with other Blender users. But Google pronounces it the same way, you’re good. Also I have appreciated your work and your willingness to teach you techniques from the beginning. Your contribution has been invaluable, thank you.
amazing! this came out at the perfect time for me, I was just gonna start learning the grease pencil tool. your work is very inspiring! Kevandram has great grease pencil tutorials too.
Thank you for showing your craft for us. I actually dont do digital animation, but I was stunned to see this technique shown to me by my friends. Thanks for sharing, once more.
Hey I know this video is quite old and you probably won't see me but I always liked 2d and 3d art it makes it trippy like family guy but yours is so much cooler! I adore your art style and I hope you go places!!
Mind officially blown. Fantastic explanation of the principles of how Blender and Greasepencil functions. This is looking absolutely incredible and your style pairs so perfectly with blender. THANK YOU so so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to share your knowledge (despite being sick). Loving the “analogue”animation too.
I really, really love your art. It makes me wanna learn using blender. I always got so excited when you uploaded new videos. Hope you always have great day and keep inspiring me!!! Thank you so much🥺
Grease Pencil one of coolest things in blender. I bet all sorts of cool stuff can be made now that geometry nodes can be used to do a lot of random things with GP objects. Scripting would also be really useful for random/generative art from a collection of GP objects.
Merci Dedouze pour cette excellente vidéo! 😄 Je viens tout juste de commencer à apprendre à utiliser Blender et j'attends avec impatience un de tes nouveaux tutoriels!
Just a tip you can also make a shader for the solidify object that you used for the outlines so that you can make it to interact with the light like outlines towards bright light must be thiner than the outlines towards the shadow
Loved the breakdown, due to some reason any video editing software like AE, Pr, Vegas, Davinchi, etc. Dint run on my pc I wanted to make animated videos... now I know that its possible in blender too... thanks for motivation...
The work is great, but I keep coming back to your videos also for the slice of life bits, like pronouncing "lattice" or videos of your studio. Fantastic stuff!
Omg your sneeze sounds just like my uncle’s also great tutorial I am currently trying to figure out how to edit strokes without have one myself and this really helps I didn’t even think about lattices ur a genie!!
That is amazingly good work. It has this 90s anime feel. Keep up the great work. And its probably the best nutshell explanation that I have seen about this topic. Everybody can understand the opportunity given here by blender. Highly inspiring.
I just found your channel through your old tutorial^^ Your work is so incredibly beautiful, thank you so much for these tutorials I hope to bring it into my own work!
