If anyone watching this is thinking of diy, beware of the brittle heat soaked plastic buried deep in the valley of this engine.
Fantastic video! Could you please share what the original symptom was that caused you to do the work? My GS300 has a cold misfire on one cylinder, and I’m wondering if it might be a bad or dirty injector. I haven’t yet checked the compression, but I’ve cleaned the carbon deposits and tested the coils and plugs. I’m now upset with myself for not removing the injectors when I had the intake manifold off. Looks like I was 90% there. lol
Great video, I have IS 250 2008 Model and I have a leak at the top of the engine, not sure its because the manifold or rocker covers gaskets , my question is it necessary to change them? Any bad impact on the engine Later on ?
Sorry if this is a stupid question as I am a new DIYer, why do the crankshaft has to be turned when reinstalling the right rocker cover and the high pressure fuel pump? Thanks!
The high pressure fuel pump is actuated by the cam it sits on. The service manual states to turn the crank such that the cam directly below is opening the valve, meaning the flat side of the cam is facing up towards the bottom of the hpfp. Also states to use a little motor oil on both mating surfaces
@@carfix1993 I just did this. I had a misfire. Thought it was easy and thanks to this video. I changed 3 of fuel injector same brand Denso, but remanufactured. Did some valve cleaning due to very thick carbon buildup and cleaned up my spark plugs. However when i started the car. It won't crank up and just die with check engine and throwing me this P0113 code. Not sure what I did wrong but double checked everything. Now looking for a mobile mechanic. :( This video though is very helpful.

I tried twice. But I could not lift up the fuel rails, to get at the injectors. What else do you have to do besides removing the 4 bolts and washers? It seems that the rails have to be disconnected from the fuel line itself. I didn't see that in the video. Can you describe how that's done?

So you don't need to disconnect the fuel pump and all the other stuff the official directions state? How hard is it to pull the injectors out of the rail?

Hello I’m trying to pull the injector line but I’m having an issue with it coming out, it feels like there is something underneath it keeping it from being pulled out, what might it be? I got it past the studs but now it won’t fully come out

I changed the following in the same Model Lexus 2.5 2007 GSE20R : 6 original spec Denso spark plugs...then the mechanic said the rocker cover gasket seals should be changed (left and right) due to oil spillage on the plugs - MAY 2022 Rocker cover gasket seal change left and right - JUNE 2022 Experienced rough idle for months but car was driving OK but not pulling properly Took the car to the mechanic a Lex specialist and he said your intake gasket manifold seal should be replaced - December 2022 After that and a spark plug connection wire being loose and one other connection the rough idle went away The car was back to being smooth and no rough idle Then the rough idle came back on some occasions but the car was still fine maybe due to me putting in Shell 99 maybe it was cleaning I bought a Forte petrol injection treatment because I heard so much about it especially from the RUclipsr BMW Doctor. Put it in and I think it has made a difference. Car was vibrating on idle and vibrating during the drive. No suspension problems new calipers brakes and tyres balanced and aligned. I thought fuel pump or fuel filter but I think I might be right it is the injectors. On slight uphill the car started hesitating on lower revs and started sputtering Just telling you peeps try the petrol treatment by Forte it might be good for you. The injectors you cleaned were manually done so of course if you are using a compressor its much better.

Wen you dealing with brittle harnesses don’t squeeze use pick on front of the harness and gently push locking part up just to release harness 👍🏻

How was the fuel consumption after and the power of the car?
My lexus is350 2008, I’m getting cylinder 1 misfire, code P0301. Has new spark plug and coil. Do you think I have a clogged injector? 190,000 miles

How many injectors do is250 has? Someone told me it has 6 to 12 injectors

Underneath holds oring tightly keep pull out slowly 🐌 and use some lubricant
