@@haileyharmon5298 i agree . i think like what u like, what’s not as popular is due to people not being exposed to it or just not caring for it. In japan tho, vast majority of young adults men and women read manga and josei and shojos are huge chunk of that. mainly because women and girls read them. women support the content they want to see. i wish more people did that in the west so that women and girls could get more content pushed to them that they genuinely enjoy, basically let ur money do the talking.
I'm sure paradise kiss is amazing and I've had plans to watch it for years but neighbourhood story pissed me off so much that I only got a few chapters into paradise kiss before dropping it. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it soon.
Some josei & josei adjacent series I've watched recently that I recommend in addition to Harryana's: My Happy Marriage, The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today, The Ice Guy & His Cool Female Colleague, Sakura Quest, Servant X Service, Cherry Magic! (for the fujoshis) Fluffy Paradise gets an honorable mention because it's technically shojo but it's an adult woman who gets isekai-ed & if you just want some adorable fluffy cuteness, it's a great series to unwind with. Apothecary Diaries is also great & yes the MC is younger but it's a more mature series for sure.
You and i are birds of feather. you perfectly reflected so many of my thoughts. And a lot of your recommendations were a lot of my favs. Kyoko Okazaki is one of my favorite mangakas of all times. i love her work and way of writing sm. and I've read a bit of Anno Moyoco's work too. I've read happy mania and In Clothes Called Fat. But after your video I'm excited to check out more of your work.
"Why josei deserved better." I said it on a previous video, and I'll say it again, say it louder for the people in the back!

@@thorfinnoars1443This! All of this!
My favorite josei is NANA. Even though the author will likely never finish the series, it holds a special place in my heart.

oh i got a whole video about why neighborhood story PISSED ME OFF
An offering for the algorithm to spread this around because this is a great presentation and intro for the uninitiated! ^_^
I recently got into your content and it is incredibly good!

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku is good. Anything by the creator of Midnight Secretary is enjoyable too
My favourite current josei is Phantom of the Idol! More people ought to check josei out.
thank you for putting me on to other anime’s/manga to check out 😭i’ve been dying to find other anime’s that have adult main characters !!

I was at Blerdcon too! I missed your panal though 😢
ye!
" um this show hasn't aged well because muh sterotypes "
You're part of the reason why josei is not treated with respect
Are you high? what kind of gymnastics did you do to get from A to B like that?
@@rahmouchatanko she wants people to like josei more but unironically also pushes people away from it by implying it's racist
