Bangkok officials said that it was a UK man who had died of a heart attack.
Right now, there are thousands of passengers seated on a Flight, watching a movie, eating or sleeping without their seatbelts fastened, even loosely. On most flights, you are advised to do so even during the cruise.
Yes. I ALWAYS leave mine on.
I loosen it. But it stays tight enough to keep me below the overhead bin.
Yes. Many people are not bright.
No, on most flights no one says 'keep your seatbelts on the entire flight.'
Matter of fact on no flights.
United Airlines tells you to keep seatbelt on when seated.
What happened was passengers had been told to please keep your seatbelt fastened whenever you are seated and they decided , ( I do what I want ! ) Then when turbulence happened suddenly they got a no seatbelt on knot on their head and then called out , help me , help me . Next !
Hmmm……maybe it’s a good idea to wear your seatbelt as the flight attendants say.🤔
Yup people never wanna listen
You would think so, but these days, in today's world, many don't listen because they believe 'it's my right to do what I want, don't you dare tell me what to do.'
You wear your seatbelt in a car, why wouldn't you wear your seatbelt on a plane at 37,000 feet?
Idiots and self centered...gung-ho
Well in a car there is least a chance of survival. If the plane goes down, seatbelts are useless?
@@Ferrari-sw7nl he's talking about the turbulence numbnuts..
@@Ferrari-sw7nlyoure implying the only type of plane crashes are straight nose down. Seatbelts save you from updraft/downdraft turbulence, they save you from a crash landing. I understand what you’re trying to say but it’s unfortunately inaccurate
@@Bro-wb4yr I fly often. Turbulence has gotten significantly worse in the past 5 years in my personal opinion. Maybe I’m just getting more paranoid
Passengers should be wearing their seatbelts at all time whilst seated, even on the toilet seat.
Especially on the toilet seat. LOL
I’ve never seen seatbelts for the toilet, but I wish there were some!
This is why I've always kept my seatbelt fastened. Through hundreds of flights, I've only seen bad turbulence twice, and had 1 engine explode during takeoff (on a twin engine turbo prop commercial flight). After watching all these debrief videos, i feel fortunate that's all I've encountered.
ruclips.net/user/shortsW33t7S_0UV8?si=BDpbQGxccNhbleEP turbulence
When you fly, here is what you need to know:
You are in a pressurized aluminum can, 6 miles in the sky, going over 500 mph in air that is -50 F. Yet, people act as if it's their bedroom.
When a weather vortex hits ground level it's called a tornado. They are lucky the plane held together under the stress it was exposed to.
“Tilted up, started shaking, then a dramatic drop”. Sounds like a high altitude stall to me.
or you know
turbulence?
I don’t anything that involves Boeing.
Boeing: "I bet I get blamed for this."
ik lol, most people have zero education about aviation, literally just looking around for all the boeing comments right now
@@forzaspeedstereveryone knows that the laws of physics only apply to Boeing, so yeah it's Boeing's fault.
Lesson learned, wear your seat belt at all times!
When they say severe turbulence they mean it
This is why lap children shouldn’t be offered. Buy a seat & use car seat for infants.
Singapore airlines is not in control of atmospheric conditions.
Where is the video??
Always stay buckled up….. I never take mine off……scary stuff…
Also surprised is that the media weren’t quick to mention that it was boring and not due to turbulence. Bravo
They say it on every flight that I have been on, "If you are not moving about the Cabin even when the seat belt sign is off, still keep your seat belt on if seated at all times." I never take mine off unless I have to get up for any reason when "cruising" at high altitudes.
How common is turbulence over open water...i thought you needed varying terrain to cause turbulence....?
It’s often worse because of wind speeds coming from different directions.
My wife is a flight attendant always wear your seat belt. Turbulence can come out of no where and if your sitting and your not with a seat belt then your body posture and the way your head is located is going to force your head to an object that is in place and it’s going to be a very hard hit
2024 is just a terrible year for airliners
Nobody better try and sue. They tell you multiple times to keep your belt on unless getting up. Those who did not listen is their own fault for the injuries they received.
I agree. Take responsibility for your own actions or stupidity.
why not? unusual until all investigation is done. With such advance technology and warning system to collaborate on such, why flight into the turbulence. Experiences pilots will share their findings.
@@justineesun3396there's no technology to detect clear air turbulence yet.
@@eduardoking8402 ..i see that you did google... how do you know is 'clear air' turbulence? seek google in the USA arena about pilots' comments and experience.. technology does not mean without warning or experience in handling turbulence, until such understanding nothing withstanding the incident as accident, perhaps imbeciles does know how to buckle up besides pilots safe landing admist whatever out there to be challenged.
@@justineesun3396 I did NOT say it is clear air turbulence. It could be, or it may not be. I merely stated there is no technology yet to detect clear air turbulence. As for the rest of your reply comment, I cannot make out what you are trying to say....I can only presume you are not a native English speaker.
It’s amazing to see all the utterly ignorant comments about this somehow being a Boeing issue. Please, just stop. Stop proving your gullibility to media hype. Rather be amazed that an airplane can withstand such a violent natural event and bring everyone, who actually listened to the pilot’s directions to keep their seatbelts on, home safely.
The seatbelt light went on but the plane hit the turbulence almost instantly. There were people queuing for the toilet and crew who were serving food and couldn’t get their belts on before it happened.
I can't imagine how the survivals will fly to Singapore, whether the shocked passengers may suffer from aerophobia or not.
Good reporting on this story!
Why not emergency land at Yangon International Airport, which is closer to the aircraft meet airpocket. Fly to another 1 hour to Bangkok?
This sounds exactly like the incident in the book airframe
wear your seatbelt
Passengers even sleep without belt specially if the next seat is open I am amazed everytime
In india Pulwama attack FBI investigation is necessary through the UNO please to give justice to the brave and innocent soldiers in india
Usually, turbulence accidents rarely happen in the aeroplane. There is a reason why seatbelts are in place even, in midst of turbulence. It’s for your own safety. Those who got injured will need to learn their lesson.
Sorry for the loss, seatbelt are there for a reason but often it is ignored for comfort. I will make sure my co-passengers are always buckled up.
I mean, you are in a metal tube going 500km per hour 30,000 feet up. Does wind stop because of your swagger?

It was NOT aboard a A350. but a 777-300er. Why cant these 'News" agencies get it right?
They seem to have lost all contact with dictionaries and thesaurus.
Because they are MSM
They do seem to have forgotten completely how to use a dictionary and thesaurus.
Unless I missed something, the model of plane wasn't mentioned.
A350 does not fly between London and Singapore
Boeings really getting that k/d/a up.
Good thing Airbus is exempt from the laws of physics 😆
This is why SQ is my airline of choice and why I try to pick flights on the 777-300ER. SQ is a great airline with great pilots. This also proves the Boeing 777-300ER can handle a lot! I wouldn't want to be on any other flight / plane in a situation like this...
How many of those injured were wearing seat belts ???
Most, if not all, victims did not have seatbelts on and bashed their heads in the ceiling. Not counting old man fatality with heart attack and flight attendants
Dunno why I’m surprised to see so many self righteous people passing judgment about passengers not following instructions to put their seatbelts on so it was their own fault blah blah blah….🤦♀️
There were people queuing for the toilet and crew were serving food. The seatbelt light came on but the plane hit the turbulence almost instantly. There wasn’t time to even run to their seats before it plummeted. That’s why so many CREW were among the injured. Also, shit’s flying about, including people, so even those wearing seatbelts get hurt.
It must’ve been terrifying. Wishing those injured a swift recovery. Thoughts and prayers for the family of poor man who died 🙏❤️😢
Wear your seatbelt when seated at all times.
Imagine all that money spent on a first class seat only to get launched into the ceiling from your personal bed because you don't have seat belts
First class and business have seat belts designed to work with the beds and lay flat chairs
I ALWAYS have my seat belt on even when the seat is in a lay flat position during sleep. Not taking any chances.
Why were people wearing seat belts?
I think you maybe meant to write “ why were people NOT wearing seat belts”?
U meant NOT wearing seatbelts
id say its a downdraft..
ARROGANCE EVERYWHERE!
the plane “FELL/PLUNGED 6000 feet in 3 minutes”. That = 2000 feet a minute. A NORMAL descent from that altitude will often start at around is 3500 feet…. which means in 3 minutes a normal descent would be closer to 11500 feet.
More to come for sure!
provide them the benefits of travel insurance.. injured or not.
Omg why it is so difficult for human to put your damn seat belts on at ALL times?? Turbulence happens out of the blue, so stop assuming nothing will happen in mid air 🙄🤦🏻♀️
People are told EVERY flight to keep your seatbelt ON. If you are injured during turbulence because you’re not wearing a seatbelt, then any injury is YOUR fault. Consequences of your actions. Singapore airlines should have added to their statement “WEAR YOUR DAMN SEATBELT!”
But on every flight I've been on there's time where the seatbelts sign goes away which indicates people can take their seatbelts off and move around
@@summerrain6125 the seat belt sign only goes off to indicate that you can get up to use the he restroom or for a quick stretch, otherwise you always keep your seatbelt on when seated, and they ALWAYS say it! The seat belt sign ON means you stay seated with your seatbelt on, no exceptions.
Wear a seatbelt. Its been advised for a reason.

Singapore airlines planes always seems to experience extreme turbulence. I’m not sure is it because their pilots are inexperienced or planes are old? Like they say, thank you for choosing Singapore airlines, a great way to “fly”. They already warned you before flying with them.😅
Singapore Airlines "always" experience Turbulence? Where did u hear that from? Perhaps the routes they fly on happens to have more pockets of turbulence.
Turbulence r natural phenomenons that most pilots have no choice but to fly through them, and not all are detectable.
And SIA has 1 of the youngest fleet of planes in the air at all times.
Talk about being ignorant and definitely not knowledgeable. Sea is prolly a place where turbulence happens some more than other places. Ages of planes don’t matter if YOU even take a minute to Google before commenting. Bigger planes will experience less turbulence on average compared to smaller planes. The pilot’s age doesn’t matter either. Turbulence don’t choose and pick who they want to disturb 😂. So stop being an idiot and spreading misinformation in the first place. Also as I’ve said Google sure is helpful to disprove idiots too.
lol clearly you have beef with Singapore airlines. rather shameless of you to use this incident due to a natural phenomenon and someone dying to hit at something. you have lost your humanity and should be ashamed of yourself.
If it’s Boeing, I ain’t going.
Cool it down ninja. Boeing passenger planes ain’t that trustworthy nowadays but they don’t control bad weather.
Then you’ll be staying home. What a dumb thing to say.

turbulence is caused by wind lol
Singapore Airlines pilots are sub standard. Too many close calls.
On what basis do you make your acerbic comment?
what, they are some of the best pilots out there, also they don't decide what route they take in most cases, the airline does
Omg it’s getting to my nerves rn the amount of ignorant people commenting on stuff they don’t know is insane. Do you know how many close calls happen in a day? So maybe you should focus on that instead of something an airline CANT control. Also a quick Google search will bring your iq up by 1 so now you can be more knowledgeable at 7 iq 😂
Turbulence happened when they serve the meal then most of passengers didn't wear seatbelt.
how you die, seriously
Hold on, it's another Boeing plane. Turbulence means it's auto pilot system failed again and probably nose divided like it does when it goes wrong.

What would you say if the same thing happened and it wasn’t a Boeing plane? Your comment is based on a complete lack of understanding of flight, or even the physical world.
@@motor2of7 it is still the turbulence fault lol, it does not matter what plane it is, the turbulence caused the incident. also it happened due to air pockets, which are areas of low pressure air in the sky, plane's weather radars still cannot detect that
