Heads up for everyone considering Milan… in Italy there is a very strict law about “esterovestizione” (basically owning a company that is registered and pays taxes abroad, but you’re managing it from Italy). Every nation has similar laws about it but Italy is particularly strict on it. Basically, If you own a foreign company more than 49.9% and have an active control and management in it, it’s an Italian company, period. Also, if they find you doing some esterovestizione, it’s a very big crime and you could go to prison. Even if you have the lump sum taxation, you’ll have to register your company in Italy… which has a 27.9% corporation tax + a lot of other problems (things like… you have to anticipate your taxes for the following year). So I’d suggest moving to Italy with the lump sum taxation only if your income is truly passive.

You forgot to mention just one thing to get UAE residence it's very easy takes few days sitting inside UAE, it is very cheap as compared to other countries and the biggest plus is the security you get in UAE is unmatched to any of the places you mentioned. In Dubai you can leave a million dollars/euros in you super car with the keys inside and powered on, no one would ever dare to touch it, you can drop anything anywhere and you'll find it right there, this is the reason why people prefer Dubai, specifically the people who are into cash rich business.

I think you've missed a few of the MANY reasons why Dubai is the best place to live. Effectively, zero crime. In any of the areas that you would spend time in, the crime rate is zero. Second, it's one of the most family friendly places on earth and everything is kid friend,. Third, you won't even believe how little bureaucracy they have there until you experience it. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to do "something" and had to ask them before leaving, is that it? Really? No other desk to go to? No other papers to file? They say, nope, that's it. Lastly, while the other places you mentioned do have entrepreneurs and social networks if you seek them out, Dubai is just on another level. There's a dozen reasons why Dubai is quickly moving towards being the best city on earth.

@@jiti5034they stay, they go home or they move somewhere else. I grew up in dubai. The benefit is im cultured, have travelled and an expat so its much easier moving anywhere. But smart thinking, because my generation's parents had no idea what would happen to us considering dubai was supposed to be transient. A lot of my generation stayed though and have their own places in dubai now and are having their oen kids in dubai, while their parents retire and go wherever they want. And parents also have the same options. Many move home, or they move somewhere new or they stay in dubai. Many also have houses in more than one country. This is what happens when you become an expat for a long time = you legit become an expat and so do your kids. The downside is when the kids go home after growing up in another country/countries, especially without immigrating, many times its not home anymore. You end up a globally minded person with no proper home. But it also means you're free to pick where you live. Many times that will be either where they're from or where they lived, but many also choose where they want to go.

I am living in Dubai since 8 Years and lived prior than that in HongKong, Singapore and also KL. This is just not correct. Furthermore there are plenty of Americans in Dubai. You should do a proper research please before you come up with such a stereotype of answer which is just not correct. I invite you on your next visit in Dubai to show you the city and drive you around in areas I presume you have never been to see where Americans are residing in Dubai.
