I can't wait to see you lay a tree down with that saw..... people pay attention to his movements and how he holds the saw close.... it helps so much.... I've went from my whole upper body hurting when I run a saw to running it no problems. Buckin thank you so much for your knowledge. 🙏
My grandfather had alot of the tools I see you have.... i wish I could of learned to use them from him and learned the things he knew. Thank you buckin for all you show and teach. ❤
The 572EX in now my primary falling saw for 3 reasons. 1 The anti vibrating bushings really make a difference. 2 That balance with the power head & bar. 3 The power to weight ratio.. There is plenty of power for its weight. Thanks for reviewing this saw, great insight.
I do quite like how the newer huskies have the forwarded handle on the full wrap. It took half a day of falling to get used to it, but i prefer it now. The length of the power head was also a little strange at first. The distance from the top handle to the trigger is noteably farther apart, seems insignificant but it is a weird sensation to get used to when you've spent years with your hands closer together. Another wierd thing to get used to is the anti-vibe. The engine definitely jiggles and moves around a ton more than the 372, but man it makes the difference after 10 hours in the wood.
Thank you reviewing this saw. I know you don’t want your channel to become a saw review channel but throwing them in every once n a while is very helpful to beginners like me.
I've had my 572XP for 2 years now. It actually does the work of three 455 Rancher. I do also have a 455 Rancher and it was the primary saw that did most of the felling and bucking between my dads CS590 and my uncle's 455 Rancher. Which was about 65% of the work. My 572 now does 85% of the work between 3 saws. I am looking into getting a Husqvarna 585 but installing the piston and cylinder form the 592XP. Hoep to see more of the 572XP RIPSAW. Nice saw Buckin’!! I got a 592 xp g last year. Put a full wrap just like yours on it. 36” lightweight. Love it! Only thing is you need to reset the auto tune if it sits a while. 5 long passes down a log at full throttle holding the saw at a 45 degree angle. She’ll sound better
I do about 2 bushcord of hardwood a year. My 445 was a little too light for the heavy trunk cuts. I bought a Rancher 455 great for the trunk but a little too heavy for limbing/pruning. I think one needs 2 saws: light and heavy. Added bonus if one gets stuck you don't have to embarrassly ask to borrow the neighbours ha ha
Thats the feelin' u should have after running a 2023 state if the art Pro saw from a 300+ y\o company. It should IMPRESS a seasoned user. Many new pro saws fall short of this mark today.
Billy's grin after he started that saw was so damn genuine I couldn't help but giggle. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in how giddy I get when new tools arrive
I haven't cut wood in 20 years, last log was around a 36" foot fir, firewood, in the snow, bush.. I miss it a LOT! windfall, fell across an access road and it was cut and shoved off to the side, I got it out of the way and opened up the road more, got a few very nice chopping blocks for my efforts too, my little McCullough chain saw with a 32" blade, lol.. made quick work out of it tho, about 18 feet of it in a few hours, chopped and stacked in the truck, cord n half, old first growth burned so nice got me n' my dad thru a few winters in the cook stove .. miss it, dunno where any of my cut gear is? axes, had 10 or so, chain saws, sharpeners, wedges, everything, dunno what happened to any of it? pretty sure it all got jacked and left here and there, borrowed never returned, the saw it just ended up missing.. I believe the axes or most are at my cousins or buddies house? hale I dunno
I'm a Stihl guy mostly because I have a dealer close by and the closest Husky dealer is more than an hour away. I have nothing against Husky, except I really don't like having the outboard clutch and the brake in the cover. I can access the needle bearings for inspection and greasing and change the sprocket on the Stihl's much easier than it is on the Husky's and even replacing the chain is easier. That RipSaw 500i is a bucket list item for me.
thats a hell of a saw buckin. that knife is pretty wonderful too. very cool to hear your in depth thoughts on what makes a saw great. I still miss the old 10/10s sometimes but these things sure do rip and tear
Husqvarna is a great brand. Don’t have one of their chainsaws but do have zero turn mower from husky. Love it, you can’t go wrong with their equipment.
I’ve been eying a 572xp for a couple years now. My go to is a 550xp and that does 90% of what I need. But man the seventy two would be nice for the bigger stuff every now and then. I don’t saw enough to really need it… but… love the Chanel
I've been thinking about the 572xp. I recently started working for a company that clears trees for the power company. I sometimes will be felling trees, clearing brush and whatnot. I'm thinking about going with the 12 inch echo for when I'm up in the bucket a medium saw for intermediate use like an ms311 or 362 and a big saw for felling trees like the 572xp or the ms462.
Buckin don't forget eye and ear protection. If you lose your eyes you cant cut anymore and if you go deaf your answer to everything will be "Huh what did you say speak up" Take care buddy keep making videos and be safe out there.
Buckin, you need to know Ken Dickensen. Not far from you, recently move from Bellingham over towards twisp. He makes a saw!!! For cutting. Runs better, cooler, longer. Hey buckin. Been watching you for years. Love ALL your content. Quick question. I’ve noticed you always pull a little of the pull chord out when you shut a saw off. Curious as to the reason. I’ve noticed you doing it on all your saws new and old
The saw crankshaft will kick backwards when it stops and pull against the cord and start ratchet mechanism. So holding the cord out gives it room to do no harm instead of banging on the stops every time.
Colonel Townsend Whelen famously said “Only accurate rifles are interesting.”… likewise, it could be said that only sharp chainsaws (power saws) are interesting!…

If there’s anything to say about Husqvarna is that you with get a bulletproof saw that will work for life. I have ran 372 XP for 40 years. They always have been reliable and easy to work on And you can find parts easily. But that only when it comes down to commercial grade chainsaws. But not all Husqvarna’s are good for example all the chainsaws they at Home Depot for homeowners are lemons. If you’re gonna buy a Husqvarna save your money and buy commercial chainsaw. Awesome video buckin 👍
Love my 572xp and 592xp! Absolute weapons they run like a ported saw from the factory and the 592xp has a totally open muffler from the factory it really cracks. I've been falling with my two for the last year non stop here in Australia and love them! Sold my 372xp and 3120xp as I just never picked them up again after using these!
Rip saw is messed up I ordered a 2511 8months ago and still haven't gotten it... they won't be getting my business ever again.. I've contacted them and still a reply we haven't forgotten about you ...I need to make a living hello ripsaw
im far from the experienced chain hand filer.... but the difference from "i know its getting worn some" to the experience after i file is drastic, thanks to channels like this.
The 572xp is the one saw I want brand new. It’s great. I had a 2014 390xp and it was a tank, heavy as one too. I love the old classics as well. I’d be happy with a 288xp high top and a new 572xp. Slap a full wrap on both
I know what you mean Buckin' I've ran a lot of Stihl over the years and they are great saws but there's nothing like running a sharp Husky. My main saws are a 346 xp G, 562 xp and a 572 xp G and I love them all. I own a small logging and firewood business and are running them a lot and fairly hard and they just keep going. As always thanks for the great videos and even better info.
My favorite orange saws are 281/288XP and 395XP. Been considering experimenting w/ the 500 generation AutoTune saws, but have been reluctant. Hope to see more vids of you breaking in and using the 572 to get your honest take on whether migrating to the new stuff is really worth it.
Bought a 572xp 2 years ago as my first "real" saw for falling and its been an incredibly reliable and great saw. I prefer it over my 562, even though its a bit heavier
Just bought a new xp 572 today. 28 inch bar. Got a few cuts in on the woodpile before dark. Just frekin beautiful . If it came with a headlight i probabley would still be cutting wood tonight.. lol . I am looking forward to the bush tomorrow. Trees are gonna fall. woohoo.
Nice saw, Buckin'! ❤ Nice story about the preference: when I was doing my certification the instructor asked just before we were heading out if anyone had a true preference for a brand. They had Husky and Stihl and there was 1 guy who said he would only run a Stihl powersaw. The instructor replied: "Great, here's a Husqvarna for you!" The guy was somehow dissapointed, but ran the saw all day long and when the instructor asked him at the end of the day if it was really that bad he could only say no. He even got to like the saw he was running, though I forgot what type it was. The point the instructor was trying to make is that there are no bad saws comming from both companies. Yes, there are differences in where to apply a saw and someone can simply have a good 'feel' using a certain brand, but there are no bad saws. At least not in the professional saws, consumer saws... well, that's something else.
Stihl 462 is a worthy contender to that 572. Performs beautifully limbing or dogged in. From a size and weight perspective it has the 572 whipped (Stihl: 13.2 lbs, 72.2 cc's, 6bhp stock/ Husky 14.5lbs, 71cc's, 5.8hp). I remember you liked running it when you were down at your Pop's place. Ripsaw, let's get Buckin' a ported 462!!
The 462 will rev higher then the 500. If you have the same sprocket on and the 461 can reach maximum revs it will beat the 500. However if your cutting bigger logs with a longer bar the 500 will win. Both great saws. It is also possible to increase a tooth on the 500 with a shorter bar which will make it win every time. It was a trick some guys would use on 660-661s with shorter bars.
Hold it to the boards! But under load, its gas pressure that forces rings to seat. How do we create an environment that promotes this? RPM & load. The bearings will soften up with time.
I can't wait to see you lay a tree down with that saw..... people pay attention to his movements and how he holds the saw close.... it helps so much.... I've went from my whole upper body hurting when I run a saw to running it no problems. Buckin thank you so much for your knowledge. 🙏

Sorry I'm a bit of a newbie what does it mean to pipe a saw are you talking about putting a straight exhaust pipe?
@@MikeDPlxztcaftermarket, Tuned Exhaust Pipe - better cylinder charging (with Air/Fuel) and scavenging (clearing out burnt exhaust gas from cylinder)
ICE’s are basically air pumps and they respond very well to tuning all the components to work as a coherent whole at a given rpm range … it’s all about the sonics
And porting and advanced timing 😊
Sold my 372xp and 3120xp as I just never picked them up again after using these!
how does it compare to the 372xp? That is my go to saw for most jobs.
It's like the 372xp has the choke on after using a 572xp!
Have you tried the husky xcut chain c83 or c85 if not you have to try it I think its better than Oregon EXL. I'd like to hear your opinion.
As always thanks for the great videos and even better info.
you bet
My favorite orange saws are 281/288XP and 395XP. Been considering experimenting w/ the 500 generation AutoTune saws, but have been reluctant. Hope to see more vids of you breaking in and using the 572 to get your honest take on whether migrating to the new stuff is really worth it.
We had to invent the wheel someday someway
Using 550xp since 2014 without any issues whatsoever. Just get one, you will see😊
why wood you migrate when you have both brother 😁
I have a 550 and 572 and love them.
Trees are gonna fall. woohoo.
Ya may have a patent there bud... A headlight on a saw I'd buy one immediately 🤣🤣🤣😎😎👍👍👍
My last saw I acquired was the 572XP.......LOVE it!!! I used to think my 281 XP was a beast but this one is even beastier! LOVE the Huskies!
Nice saw, Buckin'! ❤
Nice story about the preference: when I was doing my certification the instructor asked just before we were heading out if anyone had a true preference for a brand. They had Husky and Stihl and there was 1 guy who said he would only run a Stihl powersaw. The instructor replied: "Great, here's a Husqvarna for you!"
The guy was somehow dissapointed, but ran the saw all day long and when the instructor asked him at the end of the day if it was really that bad he could only say no.
I'm about 4-6 weeks out from getting my 372xp back from rip saw. I can't freaking wait.
Oh yeah buddy x tork?
The x-tork ruined the 372 hopefully it's the original, my first ever saw was original 372, now im 572 560 and the goat 390xp
Unreal. That might be the best sounding saw I have heard on this channel. NICE
That 572xp is by far my favorite chainsaw ever! By far!
Nice
most expensive port job ive ever seen though, the price of another saw. seems to run pretty good, but I'm curious why so expensive.
The 461 was/is a better saw. Touch less HP than the 462 but noticeably more torque.
@@lukereynolds9907 He actually did like it when he ran it. In fact, at the time he said it was a problem for the 500i.
@@wednesdar452he was going off of sound, in my opinion.
