Dude, first off, congrats on the birdie right out of the gates! Your fitting vids helped ease another high handicapper like me into getting fit and got some sick Wilson D9 forged irons out of it. Stoked to see more of your content, hoping to become a consistent 90s to breaking 90 player like you this yr
Nice dude. Congrats on getting fit. Glad the video was able to help out. You can easily break 90 this year. Course management gets it done. Laying up, bump and run, and putting practice will do it. Some irons to fit your swing will just sweeten the deal. Remember to trust your equipment tho. Just cause your fit, doesn't mean you won't have a day where your swing is off. Thanks so much for coming back to the channel and checking out the video. Really appreciate it. ✌️
Welcome back! Great start to the year with a birdie, not a bad round for the first one of the year! Driver looks strong, just have to work on the short game like most of us do!
Excited to see your new content this season! Me and you are the opposite in that my short game and putting are the strongest but it takes me forever to get it to the green lol.
hey! Welcome back! Just wanted to say thanks. I’ve been following you since last season as @moderngarage and said I was thinking about starting a golf channel and you told me to go for it… so here I am! Keep up the great content man!
Wife and I have been going through a rough time lately. Golf game has suffered! My driver has me going back to the drawing board! Going to play my old Nike Vapor again. Sim2 was not cooperating with me. Cost me several strokes! I didn't 3 putt during my last 9 holes, AT ALL... Still wound-up playing bogey golf. 🤷♂ But hey, that's golf! And as the groundskeeper said to me "at least you're not at work!"
Such a fickle game we have chosen to play. One day you're on and the next day you're off. I don't understand how things can change so quickly sometimes... But I agree with the groundskeeper, just enjoy the time more than the activity. ✌️
i have just changed to having 3 hybrids , 4,5,6. it is so much easier for me, they get them up easier and land on the green and stop. i would recommend all high handicappers to use them instead of 3,4,5,6,7 irons. with them 3 i can hit it from 135 mtrs with a 3 quater swing with my 6 to over 175 with my 4 it has transformed my game and confidence . my bad consists of now. driver, 3 and 5 wood. 3 hybrids, 8,9, pitching wedge. 52,56,60 and putter of course. for me it was the longer irons and driver that killed my game. good luck for the season to us all.
That sounds like a really good set up. I can't really hit over my 7 iron. Then I go to a 4 hybrid and a driver lol. I really need to fill in the gaps like you have. I think a 3 hybrid or wood and a 5 hybrid will fit nicely for me. Gotta do some testing out. Good luck this year and thanks so much for checking out my video! Really appreciate it. ✌️
Course looked to be in decent condition given it just opened up - heading out this weekend in Ohio, hoping it’s not too soggy. Hopefully birdie to start is indicative of the season to come! Props on the Zelda music 👏 😂
Love me some Ocarina tunes lol. Maintenance did a lot of work on the course over the off season, I was pretty pleased considering it's just a little public 9 hole. Good luck in Ohio this weekend. Only been there once in my teen years, but I had Hawthorne Heights on repeat the whole time. ✌️
Bro , been following your journey for a while now because it’s similar to own golf journey. Me and my buddy play out of westchester area /Connecticut. You wanna shoot a round with us ?
Ayyyye. Thanks for the support man! Maybe later in the year we can try to shoot some content together. I'm still trying to figure out the best ways to do solo filming. Filming a match is on my radar, but idk if I'm quite ready for that yet. Got some new equipment and hardware I'd like to get to support multiple people. ✌️
First video of yours I've watched in awhile. First thing I noticed is how bent your knees are. I mentioned before that I felt your clubs are not proper length, now I know they're not. At 4:47 you can really see how bent you are. In fact, you fall forward because of your bent over address. You need to stand up a bit more. Try gripping up at the every end of the club and standing a bit taller at address next time and see if this makes a positive difference. Also looks like you removed the 60*, good choice. And you're also utilizing the bump and run (chip) with lower lofted iron than your sand wedge around the apron area a bit more than last season. The high lofted wedges around the greens when no undulation or obstacle is n your way is a recipe for disaster, unless you're Mickelson or you're on tour. Not a terrible round, you got this!
Over the winter I started making some bigger swing changes. One of them is shifting weight onto the back foot through the back swing, and shifting it forward through impact. This messed with me all round as far as amount of knee bend, posture, stroking position. Hoping to have this sorted out soon. I think at 4:47 the ball was in a slight depression in the ground that the camera doesn't show too well. I think I was a bit more bent because the ball was a couple inches below my feet. And you are also right about the bump and run vs lofted shots. Kinda gave up on those late in last year's season and it has saved me a ton of strokes. Trying to get my playing partners (20-30 hndcp) to use bump and run or even putter. But they won't give it up. I think there's an ego involved for a lot of guys out there. Thank you so much for stopping by and watching my video. And thanks for the input. I have a lesson in a few days and hopefully will get some of those things addressed. ✌️
@@MGGolf bump n run the way to go if you can manage the lie. I think you were just too close to the ball on address at 4:47 so you ended up being more over the ball and hitting steep
@@MGGolf If you get a moment, talk a look at Marcus Edblad and his address. He discusses the importance of not looking like a lightening bolt at address. It's difficult for the average golfer to hinge and pivot in that position. Stand taller and move the ball closer, and/or lengthen your clubs. Watch some of his instructional videos, I guarantee you will pick up some valuable tips for address and ball striking. For the record, he hits a 7 iron 225 yards at full swing during regular golf play and has held the long drive record for the past 10 years in Sweden.
Awesome start of the year with a Birdie - my 1st round this year I broke 90 then hold habits creeping back in😅- awesome to see videos again
Dude, literally the last thing I thought would happen with that first hole birdie lol. Nice job on breaking 90. Thanks for checking out the vid! ✌️
He’s back! Thanks for sharing. Birdie to start, well done.
Ayyyyyyye. Glad to be back. Thanks Robert! ✌️

One of my favorite golf channels, keep it up!
Thanks so much Peter! Let's get it. ✌️
Welcome back! Very good for the first 9 holes of the season. Congrats on the birdie. 🎉
Thanks so much! Glad to be back out there. ✌️
Driver looked great. Short game is always the last to come in a new season. I love playing that downhill par 3, had many a ball plug in that green
The pitch marks on that green are always like a meteor strike. Prolly my favorite hole on that course tho. ✌️
Looking in great shape for season ahead.
Good to see you sticking with p wedge from around greens and fringes.
Thanks Jon. Appreciate it. ✌️
Wow you have improved so much since i started watching you. Ct golfers unite!
Thanks Joe!! 💪💪💪
Played that first hole perfectly!
Dude, that first putt was downhill. If I didn't hit the pin I'd be off the green and back down the hill lol. ✌️

Gate drills and ladder drills coming up. Let's go putting practice lol. ✌️

I'll work on the short stuff, you work on the long shots. We'll meet in the middle lol. ✌️
Great content.. as a fellow Connecticut resident, it's great to be able to play again. Keep up the progress!!.. Great stuff!!
Thanks Brandon! Stoked to be out there too. ✌️
Good to see you back. I played all winter in the rain, snow, cold, hail, whatever. I might be worse now than I was before winter 😐
Lol. You're the real deal Mike. Thanks for swingin by. ✌️
Oof rough.
Can't wait for more!
Wasn't expecting much from the first round of the year. Hopefully it'll get better lol. ✌️
Nice vid man 😊
Thanks so much! ✌️

That's so good dude. Stoked for ya. I'll have to go check out your content. Let's get it in 2023! ✌️
Do you use a putting mat? They seem great for honing those putts under 10ft.
I have one.... Covered in dust in my basement.

I'd love to see a "what's in the bag video"
Im thinking about doing one actually. I wanna get my swing a little more squared away so I can do distances along with it. ✌️
@@MGGolf Awesome. Looking forward to it!!
Good video
Thank you so much. 🙏✌️
Played my fist ever course today scored a 93 off the easy tees which is amazing i just didnt expect it almost nervouse to play again 😂
Dude that's awesome. You must be in a warm climate cus all my courses are closed down for the season. Keep it goin gamer ✌️
