Playing the front 9 at Golf Dorval today, we will be taking a look at what it takes to break 100. I'm breaking 100 every other round, so hopefully this video is helpful.

Is this me? Everywhere you look guys are shooting scratch but there’s so many of us just scrambling to play bogey golf. I bombed a 290 on par 4 yesterday within 10 of the green and carded a 5. This is my golf life. Keep swinging dude.

I broke 90 one time. Then I started playing the back 9

Golf Sidekick said that if you can't hit a shot 150y reliably, then you need to get some lessons from a pro. That's what I did and it's what helped me the most. I'm breaking 100 regularly now. The second thing that helped is that if a club isn't working (like my 3 wood), leave it in the bag. Nice video!

I’m a 12 handicap and the thing that makes you better than me is that even after your bad shots, you still come back to the camera smiling. I could never master that aspect of my game.

so much respect for making a video about this. i feel like most ppl are insecure about not shooting par. this was awesome to watch thank you

  • @seanrowell6878

Started playing in my 50s and breaking a hundred is the dream every Saturday. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't, but getting out on there is so much fun, the exercise and camaraderie... awesome 🙂

Guys golf is a really tough game. Trust me, not everyone is shooting scratch. It takes dedication to practicing and hitting balls almost everyday, and that's AFTER you come up with a decent, repeatable swing. If you can hit your drives 250 that's really all the length you need. Of course longer is better, but consistency is the name of the game. I think the best way to score lower sooner is to start with the short game and move out. Start with putting, then chipping, and slowly work your way out. Hit ball first then ground. Good luck.

Is it just me or do you seem to be trying to dig the ball out all the time instead of using the loft of the club, bending back leg and lowering your right shoulder. I’m not saying I’m better, I’m not, I’ve never video’d my swing before, maybe I should.

I like to think of it as getting my money’s worth out of the golf course

Thanks for posting these. It's candid videos like these that help keep me motivated. I have a high handicap, too, and I have yet to break 100. I know it'll happen; I just have to be patient. I just keep telling myself, "Don't give up. Cuss the whole time if you have to, but don't give up." 😆

I love this video! The truth is that most golfers are at this stage... a lot of people will come here and disagree... I live in a country club in PA, and at least over here, most golfers barely break 100... this is very relatable... thank you!

  • @Jordan-cl4zu

Love the video and the brutal honesty that comes with high handicap golf, which is the majority of weekend golfers.

  • @GOLFBYMICHAEL

glad i found this channel, i love watching people play courses around me, keep up that grind bud!

  • @eburney68

Really good video and insightful commentary, Joseph! I can see you have good physical coordination and I bet your scores will drop steadily with continued practice and playing. I look forward to watching more. Thanks for sharing with us!

  • @FlankerJackChannel

Thank God for this video. I thought I was the only one. I'm exactly in the same spot your game is right now. I cannot break a hundred to save my life. I know I haven't been playing very long but everything you talk about is exactly where my game is at.
