This cop getting airborne reminded me of a call I ran, on an elderly man crossing at night at an intersection, after leaving a Burger King. He was struck by a vehicle doing 50 mph and witnessed to fly " 30 feet" up and over the vehicle landing about 60ft behind it. When we arrived, the man was awake, laying on his back, saying, " I'm doing fine" with clear, appropriate speech. His left leg was bent backward at the hip and he was laying on top of it, as if he didnt even realize it. He was packaged, and was flown via helicopter to a trauma center. The helicopter crew notified us later and informed us that the elderly man arrested (stopped breathing and lost heart beat) in flight and did not survive.
